I couldn't be happier with this little device. I bought it to back up my music drive in case of a crash and it transferred just under 4gb in less than 10 minutes! The rubber casing is excellent -- the only reason I didn't rate at 5 stars is the fact that the rubber tip cover slides off a little too easily and probably will be lost someday. The included encryption software was just superfluous to me so I deleted it to save space. If I want an encrypted drive I'll buy another one of these as the price is right -- I remember when these thumb drives cost an arm and a leg. All in all, a great product!

This drive does what it's supposed to do, just fine. What I especially love about it is its casing, which is a thick bodysuit-like material which makes it seem sturdier than other flash drives I've had. It feels safe to carry it in my bag without special protection. It also comes with a long cord.

Don't buy this flash drive, after 1 month it just died on me. It will not activate on any computer, no light on the drive, no indication on the computer that a USB device was plugged in. It's simply dead weight. a real shame since i had all my passwords installed on there using roboform, and all the utilities i use to fix other peoples computer. Any ideas to recover files would be helpful... but be forewarned.
Great Flash Drive.......2007-11-20
This Flash Drive is excellent. I have had it for 3 months now and it is one of my best flash drives. It performs great and is just as good as my Sandisk Titanium. I like the rubber body's feel and durability. It came with a broad neck strap which I do not use, a extension cable for the usb, and a mini cd with TrueCrypt on it. Overall if you can get this at a reasonable price you can not go wrong.

This flash drive works very well. I am able to get 7-8 MB/s write and 12-13 MB/s read times. If you really want to have a fast drive, then go for one of the corsair 'red wing' drives, but they cost twice as much. The rubber on the outside gives it a secure feel. Just don't lose the cap!
It is smaller than it looks in the picture. I would not recommend keeping it on your keychain, as the hole in it is just through the rubber and seems like it would break if attached to a keychain. Also, it will pick up lint easily if kept in your pocket.
excellent flash drive.......2007-08-06
I bought this flash drive, because i needed some place to store my music. I know, a lot of people have 20, 40, or 80 gig ipods. I don't need that much or want that much. My stereo has a USB input and so I thought that i could use this device to store all my music "in" my stereo. I only filled it up halfway with music, but it works extremely well. Corsair made this Flash Drive to be durable as well, and that fits my standards very well, 'cause I'm always runnin' around and my keychain is constantly bouncing around. Transporting the drive on my keychain works just fine.
In short, love it 'cause it's got a lot of space, really affordable, and it's extremely durable.
Great memory! Encryption not so hot........2007-05-13
The storage has been great; I haven't tried using the robber eyehole for a strap because I read in the reviews that it tends to break, and I have tried to use the 'free' encryption and found it difficult to use, ultimately I ended up with one megabyte encrypted that I can't use. Meh.
I haven't yet lost the lid, though it is easy to lose.
I highly recommend the product, and also recommend using some other encryption software if you want to encrypt files. PGP, for example, is pretty user friendly.

Will Not Play On DVD Players.......2007-12-13
I am a professional engineer with six years of college and am pretty savvy on computers. After two days of effort I could not get the video DVD produced to play on any DVD player in my house. I was able to produce a good quality picture on a DVD in ten minutes but it would only play on the computer. No files were shown on the DVD to import to other Movie Makier programs. The software provided has dead end menus and no help. Customer servide requires the the navigation of tortuous labyrinths of inputs. I do not know how others managed but I am sending the damn thing back and getting a refund on my crdit card.
Drops a lot of frames, software very limited.......2007-12-04
I purchased one of these in order to archive my old VHS tapes to DVD-ROMs. Setup was rather easy and straightforward. Upon capturing video, however, I noticed that a lot of frames were being dropped. Having shut down every non-essential task in Windows XP (running on a 2.2GHz AMD 64 with 2 GB RAM and 2 SATA 7200 RPM Hard drives), I tried again. Serious frame loss still took place; around 10 frames at a time would be dropped and an average of 30% of all frames were lost in a 640x480 video capture at 30 fps.
I used Windows Movie Maker; the software supplied with the unit was difficult to use and did not seem to yield better results.
I would strongly discourage purchasing this unit.
Decietful and Poor Quality.......2007-11-26
The outside of the box says that the minimum system requirements is a Pentium IV with 1.6 GHz; HOWEVER, the user's manual (found inside the box) lists the requirements at 2.0 GHz minimum. Needless to say, this is a dishonest bait-and switch tactic, and should in no way be rewarded.
Also, the user's manual only covered the installation of the driver; it included no instructions whatsoever as to the usage of the device. For example, have you been wondering what the button on the front does? There is nothing that explains it anywhere. Talk about poor quality!
Lastly, the video quality was very poor, even on a brand new 3.8GHz machine. But this is a moot point. Don't support companies that use deciet and lies to sell products like this one.

Though my digital camera provides for composite connections and the Hauppauge appears to provide them, connecting them provided only the picture and no sound. Searching through the provided documentation did little good either. The documentation attempts to cover several versions of the board and it is not very clear on how to connect for sound for my particular version. Finally, with some experimentation, I was able to connect the sound to the input of my sound card and use the Hauppauge for video only. That works but seemed counterintuitive to the connectors provided on the card. After some hours experimenting, I was able to capture video and sound together but it was a frustrating process. The end was good but it was a bit of a struggle and I am still not confident the method I found is the "correct" method to connect my camera. Documentation is my primary concern - the board itself seems to do a fine job of video capture.

Installation was straight forward. The only thing I needed to do was download fresh drivers from the manufacturer's website. The accompanying CD had 6 month old software. Besides installation and detection was a breeze.
Picture quality is the most important part of a capture card. I have this card connected to Comcast Expanded basic. I'm using the tuner to tune and record shows with a third party tool called Beyond TV (also sold on Amazon). Every channel comes in very soft and on some channels there are very slight halos. I've read online that there might be some registry hacks to correct this issue, but I have yet to apply them and am reviewing this card as what I got in the mail, not something that I have to tweaked to perfection. For comparison the other capture card in the system is a Hauppauge WinTV-FM. The picture quality is sharper, but it lacks a MPEG encoder so it consumes a hardy portion of CPU time when recording.

I've been an ATI user for years. When I went to a GeForce graphics card, I lost my TV. This unit could not be easier to set up and use. Within 5 minutes, I installed software, downloaded a Cable listing and started watching the baseball play-offs! I also thought running Windows Vista would present problem. I bought recently a Sony W50 camera, and it uses a Memory Stick Pro Duo card, and I wasn't able to find any card reader that support this type of card, but with this adaptor I can use any card reader that works with normal old fashion memory stick media types and I could avoid using my camera and all the cables to download my pictures

The card pictured as of today, 12/01/07, is NOT the card you will get. The image shows a retractable antenna. The card does NOT have an external antenna. It does stick out of your PCMCIA slot by 1/4 inch or so, but is barely noticeable.
When you unpack the card, you will notice an installation CD. If you are running Windows XP or Vista, DO NOT USE THE CD. It will install a Bluetooth stack that will conflict with the Windows version. Instead, just stick the card in and let Windows install it.
So far, besides learning that the install CD is junk, the card has performed beautifully. Now, when I get home or to the office, my BlackBerry will automatically synchronize, with no cables!

I read the complaints from other reviewers before deciding to purchase it. I just got tired of having to connect a fragile USB bluetooth adapter to my Sony VAIO laptop. The price seemed fair, the 4* average review here seemed acceptable, so i went ahead and ordered one.
I plugged it in and did not install the provided software. I'm using the Microsoft USB drivers which i had been using previously with the microsoft USB Bluetooth adatper i have that goes along with my microsoft bluetooth mouse.
The card came up with no dirver issues at all, it works happily on the microsoft bluetooth drivers. I had my Microsoft mouse paired up with it and working within 5 minutes and I got my Treo 650 paired up and syncing in about 15 minutes. So the two devices i need bluetooth to run are up and running within 20 minutes.
After using it for around a day i haven't had any disconnect issues with it, the mouse and phone continue to sync fine. The card sticks out a little bit from the laptop so i'll have to see how that goes with traveling. There are 2 lights on the part that sticks out, a green LED seems to blink non-stop and there's no explanation i can find for what that light does. Then there is a blue one when the bluetooth signal is communicating.
So good product if you have some technical knowledge i guess. Even though by reading these other reviews the card may not be a 5* product (support and documentation are a bit lacking), there aren't that many options for bluetooth PC Card devices, i looked around and there's almost nothing out there by a big named company. But the zoom works, if you need bluetooth by PC Card, get one.

I haven't had any problems with this in my Dell 700M. I was able to link my cellphone (LG CU500) as well as headphones (Logitech FreePulse) with no problems.
However, the picture shown must be from an older version. There is no little (what appears to be) a button on the right side of the unit unlike what is shown in the picture.

I installed this card in my Toshiba Satellite. Unlike some of the reviews below it worked flawlessly. I did install the latest drivers at the time of installation. I was then able to use it with the Logitech V270 mouse(I did not install the Logitech Mouse software) and my Motorola Phone without any problems. I have not had any problems with range. I was able to operate the PC with the mouse at a ridiculous 25 feet away. Yes, you're right, it IS hard to see a 15" screen from that distance. I also connected to and synchronized my phone from about 40-50 feet.(it was in another room). This card and the V270 mouse have been completely reliable.
Since they operate in the same RF band, it is possible to get some interference between Bluetooth and some wireless cards but I haven't had any such problems with my Toshiba. The Wireless sytems I have used them with are 2-Wire and Belkin.

Works perfectly with Vista (Vista drivers don't come on the CD, download only). The Zoom drivers (Toshiba BT Stack) are pretty good.
Unlike in a prior review, I don't have any problems with the Logitech V270 mouse. The BT Stack recognized it automatically during installation. I can switch the mouse on / off, the moment the mouse in on, it works instantly perfectly. No problems.

Have used PNY, Lexar and Iomega flash drives. Bought this Kingston based on reviews here of the Kingston Data Traveler and the Data Traveler II.
I like this drive; does everything it's supposed to, doesn't come with annoying software, and has a snug-fitting cap. You'd appreciate the last feature, especially if you bought a 1GB PNY. Its cap is particularly loose fitting.
Used to be, with XP SP1, these flash drives needed to be formatted with NTFS file system and also (in Device Manager) needed its Policies set to "Optimize for Performance", or they would run badly.
Quite to my surprise this doesn't really seem to matter with XP SP2, which I now use. I formatted it NTFS anyway but leave its Policies set to Optimize for Quick Removal (the default) and don't seem to be paying a penalty.
Would recommend this DT II over the plain Kingston Data Traveler. It's worth the extra $4 or so for its speed.
Will be buying additional Kingston IIs as the need arises.

I purchased this USB drive due to the low cost and due to the Kingston name. I used the drive to transfer data between computers and did so about once a day. The drive worked well at first, but after only two months of use, the USB drive stopped working. Fortunately, I had not deleted the data after I transferred it to a drive so nothing was lost, but losing data was certainly a risk.
I would hesitate to purchase another Kingston drive because my experience is that they are unreliable. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. I plan to spend more money on another brand in the future because it is worth the extra expense to ensure that my data is safe.

I am real happy I bought this. It works great just like promised. I have been carrying this around on my key ring for a long time now and it is working great. The cap is nice and tight, so I don't have to worry about it getting lost. I'm real rough with my keys sometimes, but the Kingston doesn't give me any troubles. The size and capacity of this drive are great. I bought it to replace a 5 GB Sony Microvault pro that I had outgrown. It has more than enough space to sync the active files from my home and work computers each day, and fits in a pocket or on a keychain. The included case/protector fits snugly and has not loosened in 2 months of use. Highly recommended for ultra-compact, high-capacity data moving.
