download issue.......2007-12-28
I got this item to give to my wifes parents who dont have a computer nor do they have a digital camera. We could attach our memory stick and look at pictures but the frame would not download the pictures on to the frame. My wife was on the phone for 45 minutes waiting for assitance with no help. I like the item but if you cant download the pictures what good is it.
Kodak SV-710 SC Customer Opinion.......2007-12-28
I bought two of these as gifts. I read all the reviews before buying. I am pleasantly pleased. A few of the pictures were a bit blurry, but that could have been due to the resolution of those particular pictures - others looked fabulous! The actual viewing screen isn't as big as I thought it would be, but a good size none the less. The recipients were happy and that's all that matters. I have yet to use the music function, so I can't speak to that. Download and set-up are really easy and straightforward if you've ever moved data. For the money, it's a great buy.
Great product @ great value!.......2007-12-28
These 7" frames are a great high quality product at a great price. We looked at the 8" ones, but their significantly higher price tag and wireless capability made them less attractive for what we needed; a great Christmas gift for elderly parents and inlaws who already have everything and just want to see pictures of the extended family.
These digital frames are even better than digital cameras/pictures because there's no fooling with syncing, hooking up USB cables, and all that. We just put all the photos we wanted our elders to have in a folder and copied them to SD cards, put the cards in the frames, got the frames ready to play the slideshow when the frames were plugged in and turned on, put everything back in the box and shipped them off. Done!
This can be done with any of these digital frame models, of course, but for the price, the ease of use, the smaller size of this particular model, it worked out fabulously for us. Strongly recommended for any and all.

Nice Picture.......2007-12-28
Cons: 1. Unfortunalty I am going to have to exchange this product for a new one, due to several "blank" pixels on the left side of the frame after the frame has been on for a few hours.
2. I was very disappointed in the instructions for using the frame. There is pretty much no instructions as to how to put your pictures on it, you need to know how to navigate your own computer once you have plugged in your frame. The software that comes with the frame has nothing to due with uploading pictures to it, which was a bit confusing.
Pros: 1. You can download songs to the frame that will play during a slideshow, plays videos, and the picture looks great!
2. You can upload pictures into different files and change the groups of pictures that change.
3. The frame gives you a lot of control for your own preferences. I love that you can have it automatically turn on and off at a certain time to save energy. The remote control is great!
4. Lots of options for veiwing! Great picture!
What a Great Gift!.......2007-12-27
Just got this for Christmas - loaded with family pictures from over 50 years ago to today - by our great photographer daughter - the selection was amazing. What a treasure. In the event of a fire, flood or earthquake???? I just can grab this little treasure and take it with me. What a wonderful gift!

Too Easy.......2007-12-28
I bought this camera mainly because of its zoom lens, I plan on taking pictures at sporting events. This camera is perfect & practically foolproof. I went from oa old style instamatic 35mm., to this one, it is the first digital camera I have owned. It is very easy to use & with the included software it is easy to download your pictures. I couldn't be more happy with it, make sure to get a rechargeable battery & charger, as the battery included will not last long!!!!!!!
Wonderful Product Kodak Does it again!.......2007-12-24
I got a Kodak easy share 6.1MP for my husband two years ago for Christmas and we can honestly say that for the money we sure got our last penny out of it and it is still going. We have had so much fun with that camera that this year I have requested a little red 8.2MP so I can have my own camera. Who would have known just a few years back that a digital camera for each family member was going to ever happen? Anyway, the joke in my house is that I always have the better stuff so naturally when I got my new little red camera it would be better than the old digital we had, well I surprised my husband this year with the Kodak Easyshare Z812IS 8.2MP Digital Camera with 12x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom.
It is a wonderful camera, the images are sharp, we are having fun with the Panorama views, the prints are clear. I have read reviews that were not very good and that just doesn't make sense to me. Maybe those people didn't know how to fully use their camera. But this is very easy to use, the Camcorder that is built in is as good as any I have used. We love it! I highly recommend this camera for the price and the features.
Have fun with it!
AWSOME!.......2007-12-23
I JUST GOT THIS CAMERA A WEEK OR TWO AGO. SINCE THEN I HAVE TAKEN SOME OF THE BEST PHOTOS I HAVE EVER TAKEN THANKS TO THIS CAMERA. YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY TO PURCHASE THIS CAMERA.IT IS REALLY AMAZING. I LOVE THE FACT I CAN TAKE PICTURES IN BLACK AND WHITE OR COLOR.
ENJOY, I AM!
Best camera for the money - even better.......2007-12-22
This camera is amazing. The lens is exceptional and optical magnification equals 400mm+ (conventional 35mm measure). Most amazing is the image stabilization - once you've used it you will never want to shoot without. The picture quality including color reproduction equals products thousands of dollars more expensive. Buy this one - it's a steal.
Z812IS.......2007-12-22
Great Camera, Amazon was not the lowest price around, but the Cheap guy was such a hassle. He wanted to sell me all the accessories, "all I want is the camera" and all of a sudden they no longer had it in stock, it would be 6-8 weeks......
Amazon did me proud, it was here in 3-4 days, THANKS AMAZON

Customer Reviews:
Nothing but positivity as of now!.......2007-12-25
I have really liked this camera so far, I had a Kodak EasyShare 5mp camera before and was very satisfied besides the fact that I couldn't get audio to play with my recorded video. Unfortunately I lost it at college so my wonderful sister bought me the new Kodak EasyShare MD853! It takes very good moving pictures, I was taking random pictures out the window of my friends car and they none of them came out grainy or blurry. I also zoomed form one end of my basement to the other, took a picture of my nephew and it turned out great! Even zoomed all the way there was very little to no distortion when zooming long distances. The video is great for a camera, very clear no "blocky" like the video camera on my phone. I love the rechargeable battery, my old Kodak 5mp used disposable batteries and didn't have an on/off button, it had a switch...I would always forget to switch it off and the batteries would always die. I would get all the way to an event and realize my batteries are dead!! I don't have to worry about that with this camera. I wish they would have used a mini USB port rather than the charging port that is on it because the mini usb accessories are very cheap(car charger, wall charger, additional usb cables) I like the fact that this is HD capable, I plan on using that feature in the future. I would definitely recommend this camera to anyone looking for a new camera. THE PICTURE QUALITY IS GREAT!
Silver is not Black.......2007-12-24
This is the first time I have ordered an item from Amazon that was not a movie, book or cd. It will also be the last.
We ordered BLACK and received Silver. We were not offered an extended warranty which we would have had we bought it at a store. So there is a "price to pay", besides shipping and handling when ordering online.
It is a Christmas gift so we won't know until tomorrow if the recipient will be truly satisfied. So we won't know if it was worth the ease of ordering online.
Very grainy picture and full of noise - Ended up returning it.......2007-12-12
I had a old Kodak 5MP from before and loved the picture quality even with some limitation in the flash quality. So I went to upgrade to M853. Wow! what a heartbreaker! This camera is nowhere close to even the one of 5MP. Very grainy pictures, lots of noise, evening shots are blurry. I wouldn't recommend it even for $149. I am planning to go back with Canon.
Awesome Camera.......2007-11-24
Why I was thinking of buying canon or sony? This is an awesome camera. IF you are just interested in point and shoot, this is a best camera you would by in the market within this type of camera.
I have checked canon and sony both for this type. Both does not give features that this camera gives and not even near to the price.
For Canon, its the best picture quality you would get in the market. However, it certainly fells short in shutter lag/continuous photography. For sony its reverse. Sony has some fastest camera (in point n shoot) where you can shoot continously. But it lacks in picture quality.
This camera is a golden middle of both. It has a great picture quality and good response time.
For this camera
Pros:
Great picture quality even at night with flash
HD capability
Zoom while video capture.
Video playback with audio
In camera editing
Camera works as a charger No separate charger needed
Most lacked feature in other camera.. USB charging :)
Great point and shoot modes (17 scene modes)
Easy navigation. Dont need a manual to read and understand features.
Cons:
Buttons are small for fat fingers
Less manual control. If you are a advanced user in photography and wants great deal of manual control then this is NOT a camera for you.
Low light pictures without flash (HIgh ISO)
I tried taking pictures with high ISO in low light without flash. High ISO only adds to noise. Beyond 400, without flash its noisy.
But this seems to be the problem for Sony and Canon as well in this size camera. Partly because the camera size. They want to squeeze in CCD in a smaller area. Its a sacrifice for size.
Overall great camera and I have bought two of these. I havent played with it much but I will. I will keep updating this post as I learn more.
If you are thinking of buying camera, give this one a try at shop. I am sure you will like it :)
Kodak Camera.......2007-11-11
I was looking for a new digital camera after finally destroying my underwater Pentax Optio camera after several egregious and destructive incidents and I decided to settle on this based on the price(i also got free shipping), resolution, and brand name. Despite my terrible reasoning, I am quite impressed by this camera. It provides excellent pictures and gives great video quality for a camera. It has a nifty burst picture feature to take three pictures in a row and the shake stabilization/moving subject feature works well, I pretty much spun on my chair taking pictures and while they weren't stunning quality the camera was able provide a decent image, better than my previous camera anyway. Zoom is amazing and was able to provide me with the most intense picture of my roommate's inner ear. Criticisms: 1. Feels kinda cheap. I am scared to drop this thing. 2. Has issues with low light and the low light settings actually made it worse when i was testing it out, go figure. 3. A rather long delay after the picture is taken making it hard to take multiple pics, guess that why they included the burst feature but doesn't give you as much quality. Overall, good camera, i just wish i got the red one...

Customer Reviews:
Great Camera for the Price.......2007-12-21
I was looking for a small camera with a decent zoom and good resolution. To replace my older Kodak that was only 2mp. This Camera met all my needs. It takes very clear pictures even in low light 8.1mp. In low light the view through the view finder is an orangy glow but once the flash takes the picture they come out great. Also the delay to take a picture is very minimal so unlike other camera your subject hasn't moved from the time your press the shutter button to actual picture. Has some great features too, and the ability to do all manual settings of the exposure, flash, picture editing, panaromic, distance etc. But I usually just use the automatic settings. I almost purchased the M and V lines from Kodak but although those cameras may have better styling and are a bit small they sacrifice picture quality and features. I do believe this is onw of the best, easy to use cameras on the market. And have been using the easyshare software for atleast 5 years now, and it works very well. You will have the camera out of the box sofware loaded and in use in an hour. No problems with software, and the camera even has a tutorial built in so if your not sure of the functions the camera tells you what they are. You don't even need the manual. Very inovative camera.
I got the reject.......2007-12-17
I had to replace another Kodak EasyShare camera before my trip. With several positive reviews, I was excited about the 8.1MP, which worked with my docking station/printer. So I discounted P. Stevenson's review. But oh, did P. Stevenson's review hit EVERY PROBLEM this camera had! I have never written a review but had to with this product.
The display looked blurry from the start. I tried 3 times to get a decent shot of our Christmas tree using 3 different settings. And the close-up pictures focused before the lens went out of focus to take the shot. Using TEXT was the only way to get a decent close up shot after trying SEVERAL other setting attempts. Don't attempt moving shots. The moving subject had 5 "ghosts".
At first I thought the blurriness was just in the display. Yet when I saved the pics to the SD and transferred them to a PC, the blurred pictures were horrible! I do miss having the viewfinder which was available in my other EasyShare.
I do have to admit that the 5x Zoom was nice. However, not enough for me to keep the camera and deal with the unexpected problems.
Great camera but............2007-12-16
I have used the Z885 for a month. It is versatile and gives you a lot for the money. It has one glaring deficiency and that is the absence of a view-finder. I tried to take some beach and pool pictures in Florida. I could not make out an adequate image on the lcd and could not get good pictures. I would really like to see this camera at a slightly higher price and a view-finder.
Perfect value for the money........2007-11-08
This is not a high end professional equipment, however I can't find any cons to bring up. Works good and a great value for the money. High quality images made in dark room.
no wrist strap!.......2007-10-29
I purchased this camera after my Sony of 4 years blew up. It does not compare in quality to my previous camera. The pictures taken inside were blurry and red-eyed. The colors in the NC mountains last week-end were vibrant! Too bad the camera didn't come close to capturing them. And-- WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH NO CARRYING STRAP!?? There's a place for one- but it is not provided- maybe it's considered an accessory along with the view finder-also not included. We'll probably end up buying another Sony and giving this to our teenager.

Kodak EasyShare V803.......2007-12-28
I gave this camera as a gift for my daughter. The first one I gave her broke and Amazon sent another quickly. She hasn't used it yet.
Don't buy this camera for the video feature.......2007-12-21
I can't review the photographic quality of the camera, since I took it out of the box, turned it right to video to capture my baby's babbling. It was easy to use sure, but when I went to see the video, all I could hear was the camera's motor!! The machine noise was louder than my baby!
I had a Kodak v570 (no longer made :(, and this camera is not nearly the same quality. It's light and feels cheap, not a metal case. I put it right back in the box and sent it back.
I
<3 my camera.......2007-12-18
I received the camera and I thought, "it's too cute!" It's small and can fit in your pocket. Once I started using it I hadn't really taken advantage of all its cool features but now I use them all the time to crop photos without having to do it on the computer. It wasn't too expensive and it's 8 MEGA PIXELS!!
Pretty color, not the best camera.......2007-12-08
I initially bought this camera in the pink color for my mother, someone who is totally non tech savvy. I asked her what kind of camera she was interested in and she said "a pink one". At that time, this camera was brand new and I had bought myself the more expensive V603 (which I don't believe is made anymore) and was incredibly pleased with it. I assumed that this camera was a similar model so I got it for her.
Like most of the other kodak digitals I've worked with, the interface on this camera is extremeley user friendly. It does come in a wide variety of colors which is nice when you want it to match your personality. The screen is big and clear and the controls are easy to use.
However, when we got it out of the box and started playing with it, we realized that it was inferior to the v603. One of the best things about my camera is the button to shutter speed. This camera had a small delay like so many other digital cameras. Also, the photos weren't very clear. Once we started printing them up we realized that the detail, even at the highest resolution, was blurry or fuzzy. Also, there were some serious flash problems. I don't know if the one we got was a defective model or if it was an issue in more of these cameras, but after taking a flash photo it was a good minute or two before the flash would work again. Not what I would expect from Kodak.
My suggestion is don't buy this camera. The price has come down, yes, but it could make for an embarressing gift if the recipient has the same issues my mom. If you are looking for a pink camera I highly reccommend the Casio Exilm (which is what we ended up getting for mom after I returned this one to the store.
This camera is perfect!.......2007-12-03
Super easy to use, clear sharp pics, and- finally!- a girly style (pink for me). Compatible with my outdated EasyShare camera stuff, software and memory card etc (guess you can tell this grandma is new at this). Takes great closeups of my wiggly puppies and grandkids!

Kodak-KODAK EASYSHARE C743 Zoom Digital Camera-poor quality.......2007-12-17
I foolishly purchased this camera in November. Keep in mind this is the 3rd digital camera I have bought, only because I constantly buy junk that malfunctions immediately. Well, I have learned my lesson well. This camera worked just fine. Yesterday I turned it on, and the red light flashed, and it then flickered and died for no apparent reason. I suspect it is because I had to unplug and replug it it a couple of times into my computer ,before Vista would recognize it. I don't believe I did anything wrong with it. The quality is not there, it simply should not have burned out. I think a piece from the board inside burned. I just want to say don't be like me, and please read reviews before placing any online order. Also don't lose your temper and smash the thing like me. I would advise to just buy your product at the store, it will be well worth the trip to best buy or any retailer. Always play around with the store display models if possible. I have lost $800, due to poor purchasing decisions over the internet. If you haven't got the time to go to the post office or any carrier to package and return , then don't buy on the net. Yes I swapped out for new batteries, and it was dead.
Mixed feelings.......2007-12-06
This is the second Kodak digital point-and-shoot I've owned. The first one merits its own review but I wound up with a broken battery door I had to tape shut. With this one I was given a refurb for Mother's Day earlier this year. It seemed to be fine until my daughter touched the lens with greasy fingers (she was two at the time) and I had to clean it. Not thinking, I touched the tip of the lens cleaner to the lens. This is OK in a manual SLR; it is not OK in an electronic device. Now the iris that covers the lens when the camera is off does not work right. On top of that, several months into my ownership of this thing, it makes weird noises sometimes when I am trying to focus on something. Also, every now and again it seizes up and I have to take the batteries out of it and put them back in to get it to behave correctly again. (That was a problem before the lens cleaner incident.) I'm sure some of this is that the camera is a refurb, but between sales staff I spoke with at my local Target and some of the reviewers I've read here and my own experiences, it strikes me that Kodak is making cameras a lot more flimsy than it used to. Meanwhile my old Canon AT-1 is still working and still taking nice photos at over twenty years of age. Isn't that sad? I want to like Kodak's cameras. I still own an old film point-and-shoot Cameo that I've carried around in my purse and bumped and bruised and it's still in pristine condition. But if they're making them to break now, to force people to upgrade, that is not cool. I don't have a bunch of extra money lying around to replace these things every six months. Sorry. Guess I'll go with Canon or Nikon next time.
I'm rating this thing four stars because the lens cleaner incident was my fault and because the camera still takes gorgeous pictures. But really, Kodak needs to make cameras for the real world, not just for people who will handle these things with kid gloves and store them in museum conditions at home.
Garbage.......2007-11-01
I loved my old Kodak, so I thought that this would be a good replacement. WRONG! It drained batteries from the word go. It doesn't matter what kind of battery I use either. If I leave a battery in overnight, it is dead by morning. I shouldn't have to remove the battery after every use. And part of the reason I chose this model was because it takes video, but if I take a 2 minute video with a new battery, it drains the battery to the point that I can't take another picture. I am sending it in to be repaired, but the service tech from India said that if there is "any evidence of damage" my warranty is void. I told him that the battery cover is cracked from constantly opening and closing it, but that the camera has never been dropped and lives in a camera case. When I asked if I should be concerned that they might void the warranty because of the cracked battery door he only repeated the threat about damage evidence. Now I'm paranoid that they won't uphold the warranty.
Will not turn on reliably.......2007-10-28
Like some other users, we have found that the camera decides on its own whether to turn on or not. No amount of battery changing, cleaning, will get it to turn on every time. If it does turn on, we tried turning it off and right back on- won;t turn on again. But, if someone just keep turning it on and off, it will eventuallyt turn on once in awhile.
Absolutely unreliable.
Great camera BUT not durable.......2007-10-22
The camera works great... when it works.... for the price, the feature are very good... high quality prints & the video capture with sound is fantastic since you can take video up to the size of your SD card. On the down side the camera is not very durable. The LCD is easliy broken, as is the lens, a lot seem to experiance an error message when trying to open it... I've also had the battery cover break... not break off, the cover cracked in half & part of the plastic fell off....

Don't embarras yourself buying this camera.......2007-12-26
I just bought this camera for my in-laws. It is junk!! I saw it at Staples with a free printer (or store credit in the fine print). I had seen pictures of the camera and thought they were a cute size. Having a Kodak 875 that I like, I just went ahead and made the purchase. This camera takes horrible blurry, grainy, blah pictures - that is at 8 feet. Zoom is worse - unacceptable by any company with an American name.
Steer clear of Special Buys.......2007-12-18
I am a Kodak fan. Always have been, always will be. Over the years I have purchased numerous Kodak cameras and have been very pleased with them all. Until this holiday season. I decided to splurge a bit and get myself two new cameras, one to fit into my pocket and another with a large zoom for my photography hobby. I purchased the m853 and the ZD710. Both were on sale on black friday. I was horribly dissapointed in both. The m853 produced "ok" pictures, and the ZD710 was worse than my older z740. I took them both back and chose the v803 and z712. Both set me back even more $$, but it was completely worth it. The quality is fabulous! My advice: steer clear of cameras that are "special" buys. If you want a camera that will leave you satisfied, be prepared to shell out a little bit extra dough. In the end it will be worth every dollar.
good if you only want ok quality pictures.......2007-11-24
I also bought this camera on black friday for 89dolars at target, and I agree with the other reviewer that the quality is not great. I originally bought this camera thinking the higher the megapixel the better, but i was wrong this camera shoots very grainy pictures. you notice that when you start to zoom in and it doesn't capture details very well as most if not all the picture details in the background are blurry when you zoom in and look closely . I have to say i was disappointed with this camera cause my old minolta digcam had only 4megapixels and even that came out better photos than this one.But on the bright side this camera is very easy to use and feature are basic and if you don't care about really good detailed quality in a photo and just want something semi decent then this is a good buy , but otherwise if you want a good camera that shoots good quality pics then i recommend avoiding this digicam.
Great Features. Horrible Quality.......2007-11-24
I got this camera from Target on Black Friday for a great price: $89. It also came with a nifty little carrying case (soft but still, it's a case), USB charging cable, and because it's an exclusive Target item (well, I guess in brick & mortar stores anyway) it came with coupons for free prints.
The camera has a laundry list of features. Chances are you'll spend at least 30 minutes or more looking at all the different settings you can get with this camera. You can take 16:9 shots (perfect if you're viewing these on a widescreen HDTV) even panoramic settings. But the moment I viewed the photos on my computer I saw the camera's one major flaw: noise all over the photos.
And by noise I'm referring to the "colored snow" that appears on a photo, which from my research is basically the pixels coming together to form the picture. This is normal in most cameras unless you're using the top of the line camera (like an SLR).
I tried playing with multiple settings trying to get better pictures from it and while some tests were okay it wasn't fool proof. In the end it required way too much to get a proper setting from the camera to reduce the noise. And even when I did reduce it the results were normally a photo that was either too blurry or blown out highlights.
Bottomline, great features but it fails in the most important category: taking high quality photos. In my book I'd rather have a camera with one button and takes great photos than a feature rich piece of electronics that takes crappy pictures.
Don't buy this camera. For an alternative I've read great things about the Kodak V1253. More expensive but I guess you get what you pay for.
