Ok, sorry, I couldn't help myself with the title. These batteries are something else. As many other reviewers have said, these batteries last a long time, but who knows just how long? I got these batteries for my Canon A560 camera for a trip to Europe in September. I took approximately 700 pictures on the trip. It's now the end of December, I've taken approximately 150-200 more pictures, and the batteries are still going strong.

So in short I'm closing in on four months and almost a thousand pictures on two batteries that weigh about half as much as regular alkalines. Just incredible.

Side Benefit: Makes Your Device Really Lightweight.......2007-12-24

I'm usually not one to rave about AA batteries. But these are the best. You've probably seen these advertised and on the store rack and have wondered, "Why the heck should I pay anywhere near $10 for four disposable AA's?" These ARE everything the reviewers say, AND they are incredibly lightweight for cameras, mini-flashlights, etc.

I use these in two Canon PowerShot A-series point-and-shoot cameras. The older one uses four AA's and the newer two. It makes a big difference in weight for both cameras. So much so that a friend held one of these cameras and immediately said, "Man, these Canons are so lightweight. . .." They aren't (using normal batteries), but I just let it slide. Her camera is a featherweight "purse-sized" Sony. These batteries are so light I'm thinking they might even imbalance a larger camera with AA's all in the grip (I actually like SLR's with a little heft for stability.).

Like everyone else, I use point-and-shoot cameras sporadically, sometimes going weeks or months without using them. The rechargeables would, of course, drain out and never be ready when I grab them for some moment I wanted to capture. And going back to the old Ni-Cad days, I'm hesitant about plugging in rechargeables for weeks at a time straight. I know charging technology (not to mention the batteries themselves) has improved and moved on, but still. These have to be the perfect batteries for the way I use the cameras.

I like these so much I'm thinking of using them for the remote controls around the house. Overkill, yes, but that's how much I love them. Gotta look for coupons or something. . .

better than rechargeables.......2007-11-11

These work great in my new Nikon L12. I have the rechargeabels, but they would be drained down so quickly in this camera, that it became a pain in the neck all the time. These new lithium are little pricey, but they make taking digital photos a lot easier.

I purchased these batteries on line because I could not find them locally.
They performed excellently with a very quick recovery for my Kodak C330 Easy Share camera while we were on vacation. I took well over 350 pictures and the batteries are still going strong.

I have a bad habit of leaving my TI-83 calculator in my bag in my car when I'm not using it. In Michigan it gets quite cold around this time (Dec./Jan.), so batteries die quickly. These batteries have so far lasted much longer than others I have used. They are pricey, but they keep me from having to stock up on batteries as often.

These are great batteries. I had one set in Nikon F4s and used them for many trips and it is still going and going f0r four years alrady. Light weight (1/3 the weight and at least 5+ times the power than the Alkaline batteries. Best of the all, it will not dmage your camera while storing. A true "everyready"! HIghtly recommended.

These are great and last a long time. I mainly use these for my CD player which significantly improves the life, but for a little more money I would prefer rechargeable. If only they also made rechargeable Lithium AA. I also have an Olympus DM-1 voice recorder which uses AAA. I cannot find batteries for it that last more than a day or two.

Best batteries are not without their caveats........2006-07-31

Aside from the ludicrous pricing, Lithium cells do vent small amounts of gas when you use them. This is normal in case you smell something when you open your device. Don't inhale the gas.

Check out their web site and you will find not all devices run 7 times longer, it depends on the drain of the device. These batteries do NOT hold 7 times the mA power.

Let's put it in perspective. A typical Alkaline AA holds about 2565 mA of power. Though 1.5v is nominal, they actually measure 1.6v when fresh. Voltage naturally drops as you use the battery.

Lithium AA's hold about 2900 - 3000 mA. Again, 1.5v is nominal, but they measure about 1.7v - 1.8v. Lithium also has a naturally straighter discharge curve and sustains usable voltage for longer periods of time. This is partly due to Lithiums having a higher wattage capacity than Alkalines.

When an Alkaline measures 0.9v and heads for the dead zone, it may still hold 1/3 of its' power, or more. This goes to waste as most devices simply stop when the voltage drops too far. Lithium not only has a higher mA rating, but they sustain higher voltage for longer times, and thus, drain much more deeply.

In a low drain device, this appears to last 7x longer. In reality, Lithium AA holds about 20% more power than Alkaline, and thus you may only see +/- 20% of extended run time. All depends on the device.

While your AA Lithium will eventually die, you could probably get some more use out of it in a good LED flashlight - though at reduced light output. Don't drain them too deeply, or they can explode like any other battery. When you stop getting usable light, replace the batteries.

Their resistance to heat and cold and longer life make them ideal for vehicle emergency devices, such as flashlights.

These batteries are expensive but they blow away the performance of alkaline batteries. I do a lot of backpacking and winter mountaineering and I use these a lot in my GPS and flashlight. AA lithium batteries are lighter and weight about as much as a AAA alkaline battery. These last several times longer in all conditions than alkaline batteries. Cold weather is where these really shine. These work to -40 degrees. Alkaline are terrible below freezing. If I am night hiking in the winter conventional batteries only last an hour or two in a flashlight. These will last all night long. Many cameras probably won't even work in the winter with alkaline batteries.

If you leave a flashlight in your car, buy a LED AA flashlight and put these batteries in it. It will actually work when you need it even in winter.

The only downside to these other than price is they produce a brief voltage spike when you turn something on. This should not be a problem in most electronic devices because they have voltage regulators. I find they are hard on bulbs in incandesant flashlights. I always brought 2 spare bulbs because I blew them frequently (tutning the light off and on frequently made this worse). I've never heard of a problem with these in LED flashlights.

These batteries are amazing. These are extremely expensive compared to normal batteries, but well worth the price. I received a pack of them for christmas, and I am still using the same two that I initially put in my canon powershot a400 digital camera on christmas day!!! They are also incredibly lighter as well. Though they may be a steep price to pay, they are well worth it, especially if you use them in a digital camera!

I have used these batteries several times for some of my electronic devices, and I can say without hesitation that they are the best that i have ever used. If you do not need batteries for a demanding electronic device, then you could probably do without these since they tend to be a bit more expensive. But if you have something that needs alot of power and you don't want to be constantly buying new batteries, then definantly give these a try.
