I chose this speaker wire because of the price and the fact that insulator cover is red & white so you can easly set up for positive and negative connections. It is fairly heavey duty and large, about the size of a lamp cord, so not easily hidden, but it is white, so it blended in for our use. It was great for connecting our new polk audio speakers.

Great Wire...bad pins.......2006-06-27
The speaker wire itself is great, however when stripping the insulation off, beware there are 2 layers and you must strip off both. I just removed 1 and it took me awhile to figure out why nothing was working. The pins are usless as after they are crimped on the metal still bends allowing the wire to come loose with little effort.

The Belkin PureAV 16-gauge speaker wire is a good gauge speaker wire comparable to Monster for moderate lengths. Unfortunately there are no instructions on the packaging demonstrating how to install supplied pins--none are available at website either.
You will need a very small Hex-wrench to undo the screws under the red and black covers. Twist the speaker wire and insert into pins, then retighten the screws. The pins will stay on tight.
