Disappointing quality.......2004-06-04
This item arrives in many pieces for the buyer to put together - which is fine. The pieces, however, arrived in consistently poor shape. The wood (not solid wood) is covered by a black laminent material. On many of the pieces, the black laminent was chipped off completely, or is in the process of chipping off. These were inperfections that I cannot believe we unnoticed during the packing process, because they are obvious. And they were not damaged during shipping.
I called the manufacturing company, and they are shipping me replacement pieces, so that I didn't have to return the entire order (which would be a pain, since the box weights almost 80 lbs.). However, the company is in Canada, and the replacement pieces are taking over a week to arrive. So, I have a half-constructed TV stand for all my guests to see. And, no, rush shipping was not offered in this case by the manufacturer, to ease my inconvenience. I am thoroughly disappointed in my purchase and the speed at which their errors are being resolved. I would recommend that you move onto another product that you can see in person before buying.
