Easily fits larger hard drives (with room to spare).......2007-06-15
We bought the large HDC-2 hard drive case, because we were worried that the medium HDC-1 Case Logic case would be too small to fit some of our larger external hard drives. We bought two of these, and they comfortably fit our Lacie drive, our Western Digital MyBook, our older Western Digital drive, etc. You'd be hard pressed to find a drive that won't fit!
The case is quite sturdy, and even with the larger drives inside, there's plenty of extra room for cables and power supplies as well. There's even some room left over for driver CDs or other disks you might want to carry with you.
Our only negative for this case is that in some circumstances it might actually be too big. We originally hoped to use these for storage as well as transportation, but with a lot of drives, they take up too much space to store each individually. The strong construction makes these fantastic for portability, but we're also planning to buy a few of the HDC-1 cases for home storage (hopefully the big Lacie drives will fit).

I recently bought a WD external passport drive along with this item. I intended to purchase the small external case, but wanted additional storage. I am glad I purchased this size instead. This case has zippers on each side with compartments inside. There is a place to store CDs. There is padding inside. The bag has a small handle and an attachable shoulder handle that clips on. It was $5 more and worth it.

If their was a rating lower then one star this piece of "furniture" would get it. None of the holes match up so the whole thing was off. Half the pieces were bent making it look even more off and the piece was incredibly flimsy. Before I even put anything on the shelves they just starting falling off, but considering their is esentually nothing holding them in I'm not surprized. I would wish this piece on my worst enemy.

The Heigth boards for this tower comes in three pieces (sides and center boards.) Three top pieces with dowels and three bottom pieces with holes that the dowels fit into. When these pieces are put together it leave a noticable seam due to the pre-set holes not being properly drilled to line up with the dowels.

Sturdy, good quality for the price........2007-11-26
I purchased one of these units recently, along with a similar, smaller unit, after much searching and reading of reviews. It exceeded my expectations, in every way, particularly the shelves which appear to be 1/2 laminated particle board and are very sturdy even when fully loaded. This one took about an hour to build with an experienced friend, but was not challenging. Mostly I was very impressed with the quality for the price. There are not a lot of units that hold this many cds and the others I researched seemed flimsy. Not the case here, excepting the cardboard back, but even that came with a number of screws to attach it to the main frame. Allover, I was very impressed.
