Does a great job of cleaning.......2007-08-20
I had a CD player that wouldn't recognize any disks and a DVD player that would play but wouldn't allow any FF or Rewinding. I used this laser lens cleaner on both machines, and now, they work like new. It's amazing how something that costs under $10 saved me over $200 in stereo replacement costs.
Scotch brand Laser Lens Cleaner.......2007-03-09
I only purchase this brand now. I have tried other brands of laser lens cleaners and this is by far the best one. It is also one of the least expensive. It works in my DVD burners (unlike the Memorex brand) and my DVD players as well as all my CD players. It has ceased errors on all of them whenever needed.
Good but not great.......2007-01-04
I got this because I was trying to make backup Cd's for my computer. My computer made 3 out of 8 CD's before it gave me an error. After using this I was able to complete the back ups but I had to run this several times and every time in between discs. I got the task done but it didn't seem to fix the entire problem. I may need to replace the CD burner.
Scotch Laser Lens Cleaner.......2006-01-30
Item worked as promised.Issues I had with new DVD's skipping stopped immediately.
Fragial, but what do you expect for $3.89.......2006-01-17
I use these cleaning discs as desposable solutions to keeping a drive in good shape. The brushes are flimsy and fragial, and wear out in about four months, then I toss the disc, buy a new one, and am left with a free jewel case. The directions aren't real clear, hense three stars rather than four, but the price is right, and when you toss them in with large orders, you can't beat it.
Product Description
Clean your discs before playing and whenever you experience skipping, mistracking and sound distortion. Regular use will optimize the performance of your discs.Scotch Disc Cleaner easily removes fingerprints, dust, dirt and debris by safely cleaning radially (from center to outer edge). This cleaning motion is recommended by disc and hardware manufacturers. Never manually clean your discs in a circular motion.

Get Into The Habit Of Using This Lens Cleaner And You Will Be Amazed At The Results.......2007-12-07
12/6/2007
I recently purchased this Scotch CD Lens Cleaner on Amazon.Com because I periodically clean all the drives on my computers, players and vehicle CD drives. Using this CD cleaner on a regular basis will render your cd drives playing fluidly and without skips and static at a nominal cost. I have been contacted by friends and relatives who mistakenly think they have hardware problems until after they follow my advice to utilize this lens cleaner. Shipping was also swift and accurate. So to get the clarity you deserve as a music lover or writer, buy this Scotch Lens Cleaner and use it monthly, you will not be disappointed.

Scotch Disc Cleaner for CD/CD Rom's and DVD ..........2006-03-14
it came when they said it would - the product is great!
It does clean.......2005-10-18
This product does clean fingerprints and stains succesfully but dont expect much from the very fragile plastic device since it starts cracking and getting loose very soon. Not for removing heavy stains or scratches.
Cleans CDs and DVDs very well!.......2005-10-08
The Scotch Disc Cleaner is a neat little cleaner. It does not purport to remove scratches, and it doesn't, but it does do a very great job at cleaning smudges, fingerprints, dust and other crud from a DVD or CD playing surface. Every time I rent a DVD, it is undubtedly plagued by the last renter's fingerprints, dog drool, etc. I always pop a rented disc into this cleaner, and in ten seconds it is spotless. It prevents irritating frame freezes and shifts while watching a movie, and keeps my home DVD player and car CD player (which is very sensitive to smudges) playing flawlessly.

Wolff is right. Better than DiscSavers or any CD boxes, if you want boxes........2007-11-21
My first choice for archiving discs is the Case Logic Prosleeve 'ring binder'. Ring binder storage takes way less space than boxes. With the mid-sized Prosleeve binder below, each sleeve can be individually removed so the disc has protection when you are using it, and the whole thing can be put in a file cabinet or on a shelf like a book. I have 3 Prosleeve binders: one for the factory originals when there is one, and 2 for backup copies--each copy using a different brand and stored in a different location. (Click 'see all my reviews' if you want to find my opinion on the best brands of archival CD and DVD to use.) Each Prosleeve holds 2 discs, one on each side. Buy extra sleeves and you can probably fit over 100 discs in each binder.
***Not to be confused with typical CD folders that are not 'ring binders' and do not have removable envelopes.***
ProSleeve® II CD/DVD Refillable Sleeve Binder, Zippered, 60 CD Capacity, Black (CLGPSBS60)
However, if you prefer indidual cases, then these Scotch Shades are as thin as the thinnest and stronger than the strongest. They and the DiscSavers are both 'rubbery' so they don't tend to shatter the first time you drop them--or the hundredth time.
I found them while searching for some kind of semi-rigid sleeve, just a tad better than a paper envelope, for carrying around or giving away individual discs. However everything in that category had problems. One such plastic envelope is by a major manufacturer but if you read the reviews, can leave a film that destroys the disc. One advantage of hard cases is that if the manufacturer makes a mistake on the chemicals in the plastic, the disc is not hugging the plastic quite so closely. (However the Prosleeve envelopes have a fabric cushion and hopefully they are careful about their reputation. I would buy only Prosleeve brand refills and not other brands.)
For 20c each, these are a bit more pricey than for my needs. However the second-best options 'DiscSavers' are also 20c each. As for those 'clamshell' types? Very similar in concept but the rounded shape is just not so nice for stacking or standing on a shelf.
Don't be turned off by Wolff's note about an occasional faulty clasp. As Wolff implies, it's a shame they don't make it more perfect. But that's still nothing compared to the frequent broken hinges on most jewell cases. As for the DiscSaver--the edges are rather open. The DiscSaver is more pleasant to use in that it opens and closes more easily. I also prefer the more see-through look of the DiscSaver. Just plain nice to handle when you get used to them. But for stacking on the shelf, they tend to flop open a bit and are not nearly so sturdy.
If you can buy the DiscSavers for 10c each, then I would recommend them. They are certainly good enough. But currently they are both about 20c. So price being equal, I would go with the more protective Scotch Shades.
Nice CD cases if Amazon restocks them.......2006-08-31
These are nice cases....great for mailing, they close better than some of their competitors.
The design of the case allows weight to be distributed along a the outer surface. IE its fairly well designed to be crush proof for the contents.
I've compare these to Discsaver brand....and while the design is different and its possible the Discsaver brand is tougher, but if I looks again I think these are a bit harder, and will likely deflect a puncture from mailing a bit better. More importantly I have had a major problems with Disksavers with the middle core getting worn or damaged. IE the Disksaver often fail to snap shut tighly as they are designed.
This is a design weakness and once the design fails you can not tighten up the case....so the clamshell on the Discsaver can just flop open.
These Scotch brand ones don't have any wear issues. The lack of defects and near close shock proof make me want to buy these, again.
Now if Amazon will only restock them.
I use these by the hundreds and these are good.
Update. I have found that Scotch has done a minor redesign of these. The original clasp was tad bit better. I have found if they don't close tightly I can put a small flat screwdriver put it where it clasps....give a quick twist...it will tweak the plastic and make it a very good close. I am somewhat a perfectionist on a tight close...because I use them in mailing....and I am just fine that I can tweak them to make the marginals into a tight close. Something I have attempted many times with discsaver brand but can not do.
The only other downside is one of the colors is hot pink....which when I mail them I always hope the guy has girl to hand it off to.
And if you read all the way down here....if Amazon restocks these at the 100 for 18 dollars price again...they are as good as it gets.

Save Your Money {2.5 Stars}.......2006-12-03
For the most part, this thing doesn't perform as advertised. Sure it cleans your already functioning discs, but the ability to repair mildly scratched CDs is virtually nonexistant. It's one thing to try and fix deep scratches (the only remedy for that is a new disc), but the surface abrasions and mild scratches will go unchanged. Also, the cleaning pads aren't of very high quality and will tear after just a few uses. With all that said, this thing is great for cleaning already functional discs. I'd only recommend this for that reason alone though.

Worse than a waste of time.......2006-10-03
I was very careful to not press down as instructed when cleaning CDs, yet I was left with light circular scratches and smudges untouched.
As for scratches, you may as well use toothpaste for all the good this will do you. The solution does not fill in even the lightest scratches. I tried it with several different scatches and discs and the result was the same. Multiple applications fared no better.
The disc I bought this for primarily is in worse shape than when I started.
Repair???.......2006-05-07
Picked this up to try out because of the ratings & price. Didn't do a thing for me. Wipe it on, let it haze and wipe it off. No difference.
Really Repairs Disks.......2006-04-07
Based on the reviews of other, I decided to order this product as I had several DVDs with deep scratches.
The product really works.
Works!!!!.......2005-12-09
I was VERY iffy about buying a DVD cleaner/repair kit because I have heard stories of some products ruinning discs.
However, one of my DVDs from a Gilmore Girls DVD set was scratched and it wouldn't play in certain parts of an episode. I tried on several occassions to clean it myself but it never worked. I was afraid that I would have to replaced the whole set because there are no "single" discs for sale.
I did some research on DVD repair kits and I was going to buy a more expensive one but decided to go with the cheaper one (plus it had positive reviews) in case it didn't work, I wasn't out a lot of money.
I am MORE than pleased with the Scotch DVD cleaner and repair kit, as I used it on my damaged disc and five minutes later, it was in PERFECT condition and played perfectly!!!!
I am HAPPY beyond words because now I can clean and repair my DVDs without worrying about replacing them. This is defintely worth the $9.99 price tag, it does works and is worth it! If you are new to buying DVD cleaner/repair kits, try this one... as it worked for me, so it might work for you!! :)
Very satisfied customer here. :)
Now THIS is a DVD repair kit!.......2005-08-19
I saw this a few days ago it The Source by Circuit City... definitley worth the money! It repairs scratches and saved all of the DVDs that I used it on. So there's no other repair kit... buy it today, If you see it!

Storage irregularities.......2006-02-23
When storing CD/DVD's using these cases, the length causes unbalanced look in the storage unit. Since most of the case are slightly longer. In some storage units they sink in too much making it more difficult to retrieve from its slot.
Also, when trying to label the binding you need extra tape to make sure the label stays on.
I doubt that I would buy these again.
Junk.......2005-09-14
These are the worst CD case that I have ever seen. Basically they are made of really bad plastic and they are very hard to open. You cannot figure out from which side you would open it so you have to try a from all the sides until it opens. And sometimes you have force it which causes it pop the CD and then it could potentially fall.
durable flexible & nice colors.......2005-05-08
Shipment received intact, no cracks, no bends, no damaged ones. Used them for 3 months now-no complaints. I use the colors to categorize my DVDs. Made of soft plastic-it doesn't crack like the hard plastic ones when I toss them around, drop them, or carry them in my bag.
It's durable.......2005-02-26
the plastic case is flexible (not brittle like many slim cases). The case is fully closed; no more dust on your disks like many other slim cases.
These two reasons are enough for me to buy again.
P.S. The disk holder is not very perfect but I can live with it
