The unit was easy to set up and worked exactly as I expected. This unit solves the issue of ports that don't always generate a proper RTS signal to control RS485 direction (like USB to RS232 converters or software that does not support direction control). The included signal isolation makes this unit especially recommended for industrial use or distance transmission to protect your computer and target.
