What a bad cable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2007-02-08
Don't waiste your time buying this product, cause it doesn't work well. I conect it from the dvd player to the tv, and the image was very, very, very bad. Don't buy it.
It doesn't work with laptop.......2006-04-15
I tried this cable with my laptop, it doesn't work. Also I tried my friend's cable with my laptop and that cable is working fine. Also I tried this cable with different laptop but it is not working with any laptop. I would like suggest you don't buy it. It is waste of your money and time.
Avoid this..........2006-01-10
I bought it to connect the S-Video output from my PC's graphics card to a home theater receiver which is connected to a TV that doesn't have S-Video input.
The output is hazy, with lots of grains and flicker. When I use an S-Video to S-Video cable to watch it on a TV that has an S-Video input, the picture is crystal clear.
I tested this cable in a couple of different ways, but in every case, the output was better not watched.
Be ready to write off the money you spend on this because returning it to an online shop may not be worth it.

Upgrade AV outputs of your Xbox.......2007-10-07
I bought this primarly for the optical audio output. I've set up the XBMC for digital output, now I can stream dolby digital and DTS. No longer need my DVD player. Sound is great compared the the rca output, specially when using DTS. The bonus part is the s-video, although there is not much improvement over rca video cable, the image seams to have more contrast and sharper.
a must for digital 5.1.......2005-10-04
I bought the spherex 5.1 surround for the x box and i found out that you will have to have somekind of an adapter in order for you to connect your x box to the receiver. At first i look around in trhe web . I bumped into "monster cables" but they are too expensive. So i thought, i have no choice but to get it. It would cost me another $ 80 or more. Then i saw this advance av pack. At first i'm not sure if it actually does have an optical out. So i went to my local gamecrazy store and checked it out. It does have an optical out. But you couldn't actually see it in the pictures. So i bought it. And it's totally worth it, for under 20 bucks. It's a bargain. Don't get the monster cables it's too pricy. Get this one instead.
good product.......2003-08-01
The only problem I had with this product is that because my reciever only has one optical input and one coaxial input it meant robbing my dedicated dvd player of it's precious optical input. The xbox sounded very good playing games, but suddenly movies lost their impact. So unfortunatly I disconnected the xbox's optical output and reconnected it to the dvd player since it plays movies much clearer. The xbox is now connected via standered stereo plugs, on my reciever I merly put the xbox on dolby pro logic and the surround experiance was still very good. For a short while though the sound was very good,if you have a spare optical output this is the goods of xbox. And if some of you are wondering why I didn't get the high definition pack it's because my flat screen tv only has one component video reserved for the dvd player.
Worth its weight in gold.......2003-06-16
If you want a digital audio conection with or without the S-video hookup, this is the product to purchase. Don't worry about the monster cable connections. It really won't provide you with the sound quality that the offical X-box digital AV pack audio connection would provide. With the Advance AV pack, the optical or coax cable can plug directly into the connector without the purchase of any other equipment. It's nice and it's not expensive.
Great Product, but needs a digital coaxial output.......2003-05-23
I wanted to utilize the surround sound out of my computer speakers for xbox, but obviously a the subwoofer doesn't have analog audio inputs. It does, however, have a coaxial input. I thought about buying monstor composite cables and the optical audio adapter, but it would cost too much money. All I just simply bought the advanced AV pack, and a cheap optical audio cable. Then, I bout an optical audio to digital coaxial converter at [website], and a digital coaxial cable. It successfully gets the surround sound out of my xbox, which is AWESOME.

Customer Reviews:
YES, BUY THIS!!!.......2007-05-12
I was very skeptic about purchasing these video cables. I read about it all over the internet and even read some reviews that were at least remotely related to the monster brand which was said to be one of the finest A/V cable manufacturers. Most of my concerns came from reading how frustrating it could be to plug the cord to the TV jacks and of course, how big of an improvement the S-Video mode would achieve on my 43 inch -non HD- TV I planned to use these on. I have a rear projection set and the definition I got by using composite cables was so-so.
After much thought I decided to go with these, inspite its steep price ($35+7 shipping) and the before-mentioned issues. I attempted to plug them to the TV jacks. They fit nicely into the console (both N64 and GC) and so did the S-Video end but the audio plugs would not fit. I wasn't going to risk the integrity of my hard earned, costly TV so I didn't push them in too hard and pulled them out instead. At that point a very simple thought hit me: Why don't some people use their brain once for a change?? Just take some metallic scissors or any resilient long-nose tool or eating utensil and push the contact borders out a little bit so they'll fit the audio jacks. That's all! The cables will not be damaged because of this unless you're not careful and apply super human strenght on'em. The contacts are allegedly made of gold. What's better than that? This took me 2 minutes and can save you tons of grief.
On to the graphics: after careful examining and going back and forth between the S-Video input and the composite input I realized that if I had to go from one to the other so often was because the difference is small. I expected total awesomeness! That said, there is difference. Colors are more vibrant and the jagged edges are less noticeable. Things looked a bit clearer, specially when you move close to them and more details jump into sight that you may not have seen in your game before; you suddenly realize they were there, unnoticed.
This product did indeed improve the picture of my games, however, the component cables made by sony for its PS2 make the picture better. I can't help but wonder how good they'd make my GC look. I couldn't get these because they're no longer manufactured and my GC is one of those newer models that don't have the multi out output to connect component to. My TV has a 480i mode I could have used with those but Monster S-Video was the best I could do for my console graphics-wise. If you have this set up too, go with it and purchase this product without hesitation. You won't regret it. I don't.
Great for more than just Gamecube!.......2007-02-21
I know that if you are looking into getting these cables, you are mostly likely just interested in using them for Gamecube. BUT, were you aware that these cables are fully functional with N64 as well as SuperNES? Up until the Wii, Nintendo never change the A/V connector on the back of there systems. (Except NES, it used mono standard RCA style A/V output) I am using these cables not for my Gamecube, but for my N64 nd SuperNES, and it looks GREAT. Well, as great as old school systems can look, you'd be amazed what the old cable antena connection signal hid, it almost blurred it into looking better, lol. What I am saying is if you are serious old school gamer and a videophile, your going to want to consider these cables.
If you can't buy a Component Cable, this it's a good option..........2007-02-06
If you don't want to pay about 80 bucks (or more) for one of the dozen of Component Video Cable available in market then this would be your better second option. Of course, if you can get a component cable for GameCube, give thanks to the Lord and use it, but if you are one of the unlucky, like all of us, who had to buy an alternative, you won't be disappointed ... too much.
S-Video is over-rated.......2007-01-10
Picture quality is okay. I can't tell if the picture and sound is really much better through the S-Video and Monster audio than the standard RCA composite plugs.
Great product for Nintendo Gamecube.......2006-07-17
I've noticed a definite imnprovement in video quality with my Nintendo Gamecube. Only problem is the a/v leads are too short. The inputs on my a/v receiver are spread out too far and I really had to strain the leads to get them to reach. Other than that, this would be a worthy addition to your video gaming collection.
