This device performs just as it should. I did find that it sometimes tends to rewind/retract itself when not desired. This is a minor inconvenience. Overall, I appreciate having the backup capability and portability it provides. Good work!

I bought the adesso keypad with intent to use it with Mac OSX and windows XP. The device works flawlessly, I couldn't be happier. Plus it is a well built, sturdy design, and doesn't take up too much space/weight. The retractable cord is a great space saver for storing, but like all retractable usb cables, I can't help but worry a bit about it's durability. All in all though, the adesso keypad is an excellent buy.

I plugged this in and the iBook tried to "identify" the keyboard; it couldn't, but I just chose the United States option and all was well. Not as stylish as the one offered in white, but for me it is purely functional and works great for the price.

I purchased this keypad for the purpose of gaming and performing live electronic music, not data entry.
It just arrived today, I opened the box, plugged it in and popped up metapad to try it out. So far, I'm quite pleased. However, the pressure required to press the keys is about four times what is needed on a normal laptop keyboard, and about twice what is needed on my klunky, classic desktop keyboard.
That said, I still love it. I wouldn't want to spend 2 hours punching numbers into a spreadsheet with it, but I'm confident it will perform quite well for my intended purposes. But, I am hoping that it breaks in a bit with use. Also, the flat, ribbon style, retracting cable works like a charm, and it's exactly the size and weight I'd hoped (I'll post a customer picture soon).
This thing is going to be great plugged into my laptop at shows, and I'm looking forward to playing my favorite space sim with a joystick in each hand and this thing just in reach without a full keyboard in the way. =D

This thing delivers in spades! It's nice and small, so you don't need to do much dancing to access all the buttons. The analog nub works just like the PSP's, and works alright for a D-Pad as well. I'm on a mac, so the included drivers weren't of much use, but it's an HID device so it works fine. Works with emulators, Cave Story, and other games. Comes in a really nice box, too.
Especially at this price, this is ideal for a notebook gamer.

I purchased an Asus Eee PC (love it) about a month ago and wanted a small gamepad to easily take with it. I play emulators (SNES, NES....etc) and using just the keyboard can be a pain. I did a bit of research, and ended up purchasing this one.
Pros: Size matters, and this one is perfect for mobile use. It folds in half, and with the detachable retractable cord it fits easy in a small bag with the laptop. But, if you have large hands, then this is not the pad for you. I am average and it is very workable. The build quality seems good, and they kept the weight down so its easy to hold. It comes with a case, but I do not use it. The buttons work well, but it will not replace my full size Logitech Dual for desktop use. As a bonus since the cable is a standard USB cable, I always have a way to plug a camera into the laptop on the go. Price is right, actually wish I had picked up two.
Cons: The little d-pad is very much like the analog stick on the PSP. It is a bit odd feeling and it is easy to push the wrong direction. I play mostly old RPG's so it is not an issue, but for fast action games I would say it would be a no go. The cord (standard USB connections) is a bit short, but you can use any standard USB cable. I wish it were not the "silver" color, black or white would be better for me.
If you are looking for a tiny, easy to carry gamepad, this is a good choice. If I lost it I would quickly buy another one.

Wasted space, can't add other items.......2007-09-15
This case does not allow for carrying anything additional. The carved foam just about fills it, causing a real waste of space within the case. I bought it for air travel, hoping I could put everything for my ipod, including the ipod itself in it, but you can't add more than a maybe a CD in the single pocket opposite the cables.
I'm not returning it since the cables are nice and compact and I needed the AC adapter. They will be convienent in whatever case I do end up using.

I am very happy with the product. It is a great deal for the price, anywhere else, the travel charger alone would have cost almost $20.00. I almost paid $59.99 at circuit city for the same thing, I'm glad I waited and got it for $29.99. The kit really does have everything you need for your IPod, the only other thing I had to buy was the FM transmitter. Just remember to buy one of those thin transmitters because the case doesn't have much space to store other accessories. I also have to comment on Cables to Go's customer service... they are great! My travel charger was defective so I called them to let them know and they had a brand new one out to me within a week, without any hassles. They were also very courteous and willing to help. I am really happy with this product.

The retractable cables are great. The case is not what I expected at all. I was looking for a case to keep my Ipod, cables, etc all together whether at home or on the go. This is not the case for that. It has molded foam in it to hold the cables in place. Otherwise, it is a good product.

Lousy for extended use.......2007-12-01
The most noticeable experience from wearing these headphones for less than an hour was the constant pain that my ears were in. The cups are too small and shallow. These headphones require normal sized ears to be squished into the cups. The sound quality doesn't matter (which seems good), neither does the nifty retractable mike. These are features you really expect to see in a set of headphones you plan to use for hours in a game while you're talking to others and the headphones are no good for that. The overriding experience is the PAIN.
The only people I recommend these headphones to are small children and veteran mixed martial artists who are used to having jacked up ears. Oh and perhaps to aspiring MMA practitioners who don't mind having pain inflicted on their aural extremities. And to masochists who enjoy torturing their own ears. I guess that's four group of people. Other than that the folding design is nice, as is the mike. But the lack of a volume knob or mike mute is annoying.
Sound like I'm nitpicking? Wear this pair long enough to watch a movie and decide if the crushing pain is worth it. And then try to get your money back. Or put another way, would you praise a car for its handling prowess and suspension when the seats are wooden benches and you're too big to sit behind the wheel anyway? In a word, no.
And no, I'm not some 6'9" giant with a head the size of a basketball. I'm about average height (5'8") with an average head and normal ears that don't stick out. Sorry, SteelSound 3H, you don't make the grade.
everything but volume control.......2007-03-26
I'm stingy with stars, so most folks would probably give this a five. I travel a lot with my laptop (even if it's just down to the coffeeshop) so a headset that allows me to pack up and set up quickly is good. I've spent maybe $10 less for several headsets that were flimsy, but the cords on this device are amazing. It would take an intentional act of vandalism and perhaps a sharp object to pull loose any of the cable joins on this. They are really well put together.
The retractible mic is great, and it's flexible, so I can adjust it to not be deadly annoying. The gain and sensitivity is great. It's good for skype (which I use extensively for international calls for work) and gaming (Turbine in-game chat, ventrilo, teamspeak, what have you).
The only thing I miss is an in-line volume control.
All in all, a well-designed, well-engineered device, which I expect will last me far longer than the less costly but cheaply made headsets I've had in the past.
