A few problems, but a big improvement overall.......2007-12-19
I have never really been able to convince myself to get a HDTV, mainly for the reason that I don't watch TV more than a few hours a week. Most of my free time that I spend with electronics is with my computer, so I bought a 24 inch monitor that displayed 1920x1200 instead. I love playing PC games, but there are a few choice 360 games that I had to play, specifically Mass Effect. Now, 1080p is 1920x1080, so my monitor should display full 1080p without a problem. But my 360 (newest updates and all) only displays 1366x768 properly , (720p pretty much) and distorts when going to 1920x1080. No matter what I do this is the case... I've tried other 360s and same problem. But that isn't keeping me from enjoying the greatly improved resolution from the old 480p on my TV.
Mass Effect looks incredible, as does Gears of War. Dead Rising looks pretty good, and Halo 3 is not bad either.
Overall, I would recommend this accessory to anyone who has a nice monitor but not so new TV.
Works just as designed to!.......2007-12-07
I use this on my 19" computer monitor and works great! The 360 supports a variety of resolution and can't wait to try it out on my new HDTV!
Worth it.......2007-12-04
Like I said, it's worth the purchase for the quality of the product. My only gripe is that it being VGA, it has slightly muddy colors in comparison to a true HD picture. Not a big deal to the average user though.
1080p woohoo!.......2007-11-29
1080p on a Westinghouse LVM-37w3 works fine with my 360 and its attached HD-DVD player. Subjectively speaking, I think the component inputs had better color reproduction, though. All in all, a worthwhile purchase to remove the borders and get full access to my content without zooming or stretching.
Works better than expected.......2007-11-07
This is great for getting that HD experience if you don't have an HDTV yet. I've used this on 4:3 and 16:9 CRT and LCD monitors and it works great. The main reason I got this was for my projector, which only outputs at hi-res if the VGA or HDMI outputs are connected (and the HDMI 360's weren't out yet).

Another Reason To Buy These Cables.......2007-07-17
Ran the cables that came with my system thru my wall and wanted to have freedom to move system without massive work for when my wife kicks me out of the family room. Now I just move my system and power cord and I am gaming where she is not...LOL!
Worked fine for abut a year.......2007-07-05
The cables worked fine for about a year. Now the cable seems to work sometimes but for the most part it just shows purple lines going across the screen. I have to switch from regular tv to hdtv a few times to make it work. The sound always comes thru just the video has problems.
Great cable, exactly what i needed.......2007-05-07
Has an AV left-right to phone jack converter. In addition to a vga dual ended cable, to connect to your CRT screen or VGA enables screens and or even video input graphic cards. Pretty cool
A mistake to buy this cable.......2007-03-16
I purchased this cable new to go with my new hdtv. It worked fine for six weeks until I could not get a picture. I mess with the cable and get an off color picture on the screen. I mess with the cable more and it worked for two days. Now it gets a wobbly picture on the screen which I cannot get rid of. I never moved the xbox but it just started happening for no reason. What a waste of money for over priced cables.
I would spring for the extra ten bucks and get the monster cables at least you have a far less chance of dealing with the mess I have. I have had great luck with monster in the past but was too cheap and decided to trust microsoft.
Note: I bought the microsoft vga cable at a local store and the picture was horrible and might as well have been the lowest end. If you have hdtv then steer clear of anything less than component cables (monster). It is amazing the difference in quality. Also it was stupid of microsoft not to include an hdmi connection for the 360.
buy this if you got the core 360 and own an HDTV.......2007-03-09
If you bought the core system, you get a basic cable. If you own an HDTV (720p/1080i/1080p) you'll need this component cable (or VGA if your TV has that option). If you use a DD5.1 audio receiver, you'll need the optical digital cable with connects to this cable (TOSlink).
Vs the Monster cable? This cable seems to work fine. I am able to find general 50' premium component cables on the internet for less than the price of the Monster cable. I didn't notice any significant difference in quality of Monster over the MS cable.

This is not what was promised.......2007-10-03
This product is not what is pictured/described. The product shipped is a multi cable for xbox 360, Wii, and ps2/3. This is a great deal if you need it for that, if you dont ignore this one
Not "Universal" At All.......2007-09-30
I guess they're shipping a new version of the product than what's listed. The one I just received has XBOX 360, Playstation 2/3, and Nintento Wii connections on it. There is NO connection for Gamecube and NO connection for the original XBOX. Don't waste your money.
Muy bueno.......2007-09-16
excelente producto lo recomiendo funciona bien con el xbox 360 el playstation 3 y el wii es muy buen producto
Doesn't work with all TVs.......2007-09-07
I picked up one of these cables from a local Gamestop hoping to cut down on clutter with my setup. Unfortunately, these cables simply didn't work with my TV. While I could get a signal if I reduced everything to 480i, I could only get garbage from setting higher than that (and yes, I did flip the switch to "HD") which really defeats the purpose of getting component cables. When I saw other people posting the same issues online with other TVs, I returned the cables for a full refund. Be cautious when buying these cables, they may not work with your setup.
Description innacurate.......2007-09-01
Description say work for XBOX and XBOX360 but only works for XBOX360, PS2, PS3 And Wii
Product Description

Customer Reviews:
DO NOT BUY THIS CABLE.......2007-10-05
You will be extremely dis-satisfied with this product, it is complete and utter garbage. The only way to use this cable is at 640x480 or you will see interference that is tragically bad, and ruins your gaming/mce experience.
Order the OEM Microsoft Product or you will be sorry.
TERRIBLE CHEAP CABLES DO NOT BUY.......2007-05-30
This cable is terrible. I kept on getting 2 refresh rate lines, coming down my screen, I tried a high end LCD and a CRT monitor and both had the same refresh rate lines coming down, the image quality was terrible (grainy). The price was appealing, but they are terrible cables.
I ended up going to the local store and buying the Microsoft VGA HD cables and have never been happier.
Intec is not responding to e-mails (apparently these cables have a lifetime warranty..HA!!)
I would sugged buying the Microsoft VGA cables instead and don't waste your time (as others have suggested)
Get what you pay for, perhaps a bit more.......2007-03-20
Im satisfied with this product. There is ghosting but I only notice it on high contrast images ie white text on a pitch black background. The product does exactly what I expected it to. The picture shows exactly what it is, it has a plug for your 360, one VGA that plugged straight into my monitor without an adapter and two RCA audio which I already had a radioshack 1 dollar rca to stereo headjack adapter as I use headphones. I would say if you arent willing to pay 40 dollars this product is a slight gamble but I feel it paid off. The ghosting doesnt bother me as I only notice it with white or near white on black backgrounds. Otherwise the VGA resolution on my 1280 x 1024 monitor is great. I CAN FINALLY READ THE SMALL TEXT IN SOME OF THESE GAMES
unexceptional performance..........2007-03-09
Do not buy this product. Simple as that. I used three different monitors and the quality of the picture was terrible. The colors were muted no matter what the monitor settings were and the video contained duplicated ghost images no matter what was on display.
Works fine, good price!.......2007-02-23
We have not had any problems with this cable. Works fine, games look much better, and costs a lot less than the official MS cable.

Looking for a System Changer?.......2007-11-21
If you are looking for a system selector, you have found it. It is a basic system selector, and will work with basic TVs, but I fear it won't work with high def TVs. If all that matters to you is that it is an easy way to change systems, and quality is not lost, then you have clicked on the right item. However, I cannot say whether or not it works with high def systems like the PS3. I guess you'd have to take a risk. But, what kind of person would play their PS3 on a regular TV? I know I would. Just buy this selector if you need one. OK?
Gets the job done for not alot of mulah........2007-10-24
Ok, first of all the item is not as bad as some of these reviewers have written. I went out of my way to get a second one as I have NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Xbox, Xbox360, and a PS2 with a PS3 in the pipe. Both work flawlessly.
Here's the skinny... it's a switchbox... not a processor. It's 20 bucks... not 120.
That said you will have about a 0.5% signal loss (about a dB in signal) going through the unit. Unless you have a really nice HD TV and know where every pixel on the screen is going to be and at what time... you're not going to notice the loss. It does work in HD. The guy who says it doesn't should try fiddling with his settings. If the console and TV aren't configured correctly it will look very bad. All the box is is a physical switcher... wire for wire... and a solid one at that. I dropped mine on a concrete floor while moving and it took it smiling. The lack of completeness on the nameplates for the front is the only packaging complaint of mine. Most people that will use these are hardcore enthusiasts that will likely still have some of the older systems. At any rate... it's worth the money. If you're worried about signal loss then you can go ahead and buy one of the state of the art combiners and signal regenerators that will give you the best possible picture on a single mixed-down set of outputs. If you can afford the TV that would make a noticeable difference in this then you can afford to not bargain bin on your cables and switches anyways. (gold plated connectors are just an excuse to charge you more.. gold is actually a worse conductor than copper is.. worse than the alloys they use on this stuff nowdays, even... it just doesn't corrode. If you take care of your stuff you won't have that problem anyways.)
My only physical complaint about the unit is that it only has 3 component inputs and not 4 of them. The fourth input is composite/s-video, though, and better than most switches composite-only fourth port. I'll be buying a third and fourth one of these to handle the mix-down of the few consoles I'm adding in the future as they do not make, currently, a 12 port component switch... which is what I need.
Just what I needed........2007-09-21
The right price; does the right job. The slightest fault might be that the connections and bonus cables are not gold plated, but this wasn't used on higher end equipment so there was no noticeable visual or audio degradation. I needed an inexpensive video selector that works with component connections and this was just what I needed. The bonus cables made it a great value too.
A Steal At 20 Bucks!.......2007-06-11
I've had this for a year and a half (I have my XBOX 360, PS2, Gamecube, and DVD player hooked up to it) and it works just fine! Don't belive the review that it doesn't work on HD (it's also hooked up to my HDTV with NO compromise of picture quality at all!) It's amazing that this works so well being the fact that the exterior of the unit is almost made entirely of plastic....the only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars.
Ok if you have a regular TV.. or dont care about quality. .......2007-02-19
i thought this device would be fine. Instead, it degrades the quallity of the picture. I've had it a month, and its already coming apart.
Doesnt work for HD. dont waste your time.

High Quality Cable!.......2007-12-03
I didn't have high expectations because this cable costs significantly less than other brands. However, I am pleased to say that this is a great cable. Save your money! Buy this one instead of spending more!
Very Nice........2007-09-27
This is an excellent cable for the Xbox. It actually has componant outputs, as well as Svideo + Audio with a switch to switch between the settings. It also comes with a optical patch cable of some sort which I've not used for my setup, but it seems also very nice.
Sincerely,
Ira Carmel.

Customer Reviews:
Works perfectly, inexpensive, a little short.......2007-07-09
Plan on keeping your 360 somewhat near to your television, this isn't the world's longest cable, but the quality is great, it has component hookups and also works as a regular hook up. This is the least expensive cable I could find on the internet and for the money it is fantastic. Amazon must have sent it right away because I got it within 3 days despite choosing "super saver shipping." I've had it for over a month now and I'm 100% satisfied. Just pay attention to the length and make sure that you don't plan on placing your 360 a long distance away (i.e. outside your entertainment system would probably be too far,) although most people keep their entertainment peripherals in the vicinity of their TV anyway so this shouldn't be a problem for 99% of users.
This component video cable does NOT provide digital audio!.......2007-01-12
This component video cable for the Xbox 360 does not provide digital audio. While it does have a hole/slot to plug an optical audio cable into, the slot does not work. I plugged an optical audio cable into the slot, and ran the other end to my digital audio/video receiver. Low and behold, NO digital audio! Do yourself a favor and buy another version of the cable (such as the Microsoft version) if you plan on using digital audio with your Xbox 360. When I used the MS version of the cable the digital audio works great! On a positive note, the component video for this cable does work if that's all you need.
NOT AN HDMI CABLE.......2006-04-21
This is completly mislabled. HDMI is a plug that looks like an oversized USB cable. ONLY NEWER HD SETS even have an HDMI slot. HDMI is a newer form of the Digital DVI cable seen on many PC video cards.
Component HD cables which come with the XBOX 360, even though they produce true HD, are only an ANALOGUE cable.
HDMI is a DIGITAL HD cable.
It's like the difference between a coaxal audio and an optical audio cable. Both can produce true 5.1 surround sound but one is analogue, the other is digital.
As far as I know, there is no HDMI cables on the market for the 360 yet. I found this mislabled product while searching for the release date of the HDMI cable.
Digital Audio does not work .......2006-02-20
I bought these cables right before the Xbox 360 came out. Soon afterwards, I hooked it up and couldn't get the digital audio to work. The receiver noticed it was getting a signal, but apparently the cable was corrupting it. Don't waste the money on these. Spend the money on first party accessories.
Poor IQ.......2006-01-28
Image quiality is poor, this is a very unreliable product. Spend the extra $ for the microsoft cables.
