I own a memory stick with a retractible connection. One day I tried to connected to a PC which had a USB connection in the front and my memory stick connection would not fit. I ordered the 'USB 2.0, Cable 6inch A Male To A Female'. This extension allows me to plug my memory stick on any type of connection. This is convenient and I don't have to worry that I won't be able to use my memory stick.

The "jump" or "thumb" drive was as advertised. The clincher for the sale was the included "cable extender" for the drive which attaches to the thumb drive and facilitates the plug-in process for the thumb drive to the rear USB port of my Dell laptop. I have encountered problems with several designs of thumb drives because the two USB ports are too close together (bad design, Dell) to accommodate both a wireless mouse antenna (most manufacturers) and direct connection of a thumb drive without using a "USB cable extender". This unit solved that problem.
