So Far So Good................2007-09-02
First of all I found it really hard to find any decent AV switching devices at local stores. I usally prefer to purchase things like electronics in person. So i did as much research as i could online and i feel like i got the right equipment. This product does everthing i needed it to do. I have a DVD, cable box, 2 game systems, a 200 disc changer, and even a connection for my MP3 player. All devices seem to be working fine, and i have had it hooked up for a month already. I did read a couple reviews that said there were problems with HD connections, but i am not using that, also a couple reviewers complained about the quality of cables supplied for this device. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Anyone, who has ever purchased any electronics, should expect to upgrade the cables. The lighted display and remote are the icing on the cake for this product...........Oh yeah, the price i got on Amazon beat Walmart of all places.
Excellent piece of equipment (actually it isn't)!.......2007-07-19
I was a little concerned when I first ordered this product for a few reasons. I was running my component cables through my Yamaha receiver but simply ran out of room. I have a 64inch widescreen HDTV and was fearful anything less expensive would result in a poor connection/signal. I was pleasantly mistaken. This would easily be worth the original $99 price, but becomes a no brainer with it at only $63. I use it for my DVD player, my XBOX 360 with HDDVD player and my PS3. All of them have no loss in picture quality. Trust me on my 64inch TV it would be easy to catch. It also supports older connections for video and I would imagine since they are less of a signal that there wouldn't be a problem. I was also impressed it has inputs for digital audio as well as ethernet connections. It has everything but HDMI. It even comes preprogrammed with names of every game system and video device on the market.
My only reccommendation would be to ditch the included component cable and replace it with a better quality one. I'm not sure how they would work but my review is with a Monster cable as they looked pretty cheap. Since they were included though who cares?
EDIT:
Well my foot went in my mouth after writing this review. I should have used it longer as i discovered that it isn't as good as I had thought. When I began watching DVDs and playing more games (PS3 and 360) I soon realized that the picture signal became distorted. It seems as though it has more difficulty during action scenes for some reason, but also was distorted at the opening credits of some DVDs/ games. I ran the cables back to my TV and Yamaha receiver without further problem. I just sent this back and am waiting on the refund. Hopefully nobody used my review and made the same mistake I did. Sorry.
An excellent switch.......2007-07-12
This overall is a very nice video switching system. I did run into a couple problems at first, however, I have some knowledge of electronics. The first issue I ran into was a ground loop witch cause diagonal lines to run through the picture. This was caused by the fact that I had 3 power strips with one having the ground plug (3rd prong) broken off. After getting a single powerstrip that could handle all the devices, this problem cleared up. The second issue I ran into was the remote seemed slow to respond, this was due to shooting it through a glass door in the entertainment center. So relocating it resolved the issue.
The only limitation (maybe) is that it only has 2 ethernet ports. It also has no standby setting, so its either on or off.
It does a fantastic job at all resolutions up to 720, I didnt have anything that went higher to test it.
It doesn't look good!!!.......2007-06-29
The picture Quality looks bad, so I got better A/V cables to connect the dam thing to the T.V, which seemed to work the cable they send you is garbage. Also with the Selector my Time Warner cable works fine and looks descent now that I added better wires. I plugged my PS3 and Xbox 360 into it and they look fine but no sound comes out I am still trying to figure out the problem, I even plugged it into the port where i have the Time Warner Cable is which I know works fine, but still no sound.
Perfect!.......2007-06-21
With some research on video switchers, I finally bought this one.
I needed a new one badly, I had seperate optical switcher and component switchers and they both were dying on me.
I wanted a switcher that had both optical and component in one box, and a remote, and this product does.
The construction is solid, it's metal, and so is the remote much to my surprise.
The price is unbelievable for what you get. If you need a swicther, don't debate it, just purchase this item. With the savings on Amazon I got two day shipping and it was still cheaper than others being offered.

This cable was supposed to be good for Game cube. The one they sent doesn't fit in the game cube. It's totally useless.

Fantastic, but slightly troubled.......2007-10-27
Basically, I love this thing. Its made organizing all of my video games and various other input devices much easier to manage. I love that this thing has a display on the front of to see what you are actually using. The remote is nice, but not terribly necessary, but its a good addition to make this product feel that its quality.
What I am troubled by with this device, is the audio outputs. For some reason (and I've tried many sets of cables) the secondary output for audio on the back of the device, when connected to the TV produces a static noise that is rather annoying at low volumes. If you unplug it, it goes away, but the problem I am having with it, is that if you unplug it... anything thats not component and is rather your traditional Red, Yellow and White cables will not have a sound output. My remedy is probably just going to be getting component cables for everything, but it would have been nice had this not been the case.
Additionally the preset collection of inputs is nice. I would have liked for there to have been a Wii option or at least a way to program your own (I have a Dreamcast, Sega Saturn and a PSone I would have liked to have been able to label). But thats just a minor thing since it does have the Xbox 360, PS2 and PS3 as well as a few others and one labeled Computer (which was nice). Last, I thought I was getting a silver looking one, but it turns out mine is black... but I don't mind. If you don't have the problem I did with not having everything with component cables, I would completely recommend this device for organizing your input devices.
Great Selector!!!.......2007-05-26
Based on other reviews I read I went and got this selector. I do not regret getting this switch for a second. Everything looks crystal clear regardless of which type of cable type you prefer, and even the old yellow composite looks great!
The unit is very easy to use and set up. My only complaint is there are about 20 names built into the system, like XBox, DVD, PS2, Cable, etc... but they left out any ability to make custom names. For example they left out "Wii", so I named that channel Gamecube instead :(
The remote works well, but it is a flimsy little thing. However if you're into gadetry then you probably have a programmable "learning" remote (if not then shame on you and go get one right now!) which can easily be taught the signals from the switch remote. Then you can just put the little switchbox remote away in a drawer and never have to use it again.
Overall I highly recommend this. It works great, has a great picture, great sound and will probably do everything you need. Get one of these you won't regret it.
Great Selector.......2006-12-09
This A/V switch is very good. I have a Comcast dvr, xbox 360, and dvd recorder/vcr hooked up with optical audio. I got it mostly for the optical audio switch, since my reciever only has one input. There is no issue with picture quality, and sound is fantastic. There are plenty of inputs, and having lan is nice if you have a couple game systems hooked up and only one wireless adapter, if you need more lan, just buy a 5 port switch. the unit is elegant (Black version), and fits in well with my Home theater setup. The remote is small and solid, havent tried to program a universal remote for it yet.
Best component switch for the money........2006-10-20
I bought the System Selector Pro to replace an Audio Authority component/toslink switch that cost 4 times more. The picture is perfect at all resolutions I've tried (480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i). It auto detects which audio source to use and seems to select the best available on its own. I set up my Harmony remote to do the switching and I'm delighted so far with the unit.
My only complaint is that a 2 port ethernet switch is pretty much useless. There should be an ethernet jack for each of the inputs if they wanted this to be a really useful feature.
Works great.......2006-05-19
They SS 2.0 works well with my setup.
Cons:
I didn't care for the remote or the cheap cables that came with it though. I also would have liked a way to dim the LCD since it is too bright at night.
Pros:
Switches optical and coaxial audio.
Can be controlled with harmony remotes.
No loss of quality
All HD resolutions look fine on my CRT HDTV. The only people I've seen that have had problems with ghosting on this are using projectors.

Get Monster Sound and Video Performance with this high-performance cable / Connects Sony Playstation 2 with Receiver or TV
Amazon.com Product Description
The next generation of entertainment consoles requires the most advanced cable technology. With its 128-bit "Emotion Engine" drawing 75 million polygons/second, 300 MHz processor, and the ability to play DVD movies in Dolby Digital Surround Sound, the PlayStation 2 was made to blow away all the most serious gamers and movie enthusiasts.
S-Video is the preferred high-performance connection for the Playstation 2, because it sends the video signal in separator chrominance (color) and luminance (brightness) channels for a picture that's richer in color, brighter, and sharper. It also gets rid of dot crawl, the annoying flickering along object edges. Monster's GameLink 300 S-video uses advanced technologies like nitrogen gas, 24-karat gold contacts, and 8-cut Turbine RCA connectors to ensure the best S-video signal possible.
Monster's advanced audio technology delivers the full sonic performance of your PS2. Your PS2 is state-of-the-art in audio quality, but its sonic performance is only as good as the cable used to connect it.
Maximize your gaming and movie investment with the GameLink 300's patented cable technologies. If you're like most gamers, you'll spend hundreds of dollars on games and movies. Why not play them with the best picture and sound possible?

Good but expensive cable........2007-07-12
This is a really good quality cable and I do notice a better picture using it. The cable is a bit pricey though.
Clean and Clear.......2007-05-06
Great upgrade for the PS2; component video is much better than conventional RCA hookups. Couple it with a fiber optic cable and you'll be able to achieve, crisp, clean sound as well.
Don't forget to turn on the water!.......2007-04-30
Unnecessary high price knocks a star off of this one, but they work just as well as the Sony ones. Luckily I got these for free.
Will it work for PS3?.......2007-04-21
I have been using it for the PS2 for several years and I love it.
Now, I just got the PS3 so I wonder if it is compatible with it.
I do not seem to be able to get a component signal out of this cable in my PS3 so I wonder if it is the cable or it is me just not being able to set it up correctly.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
