Ideal device.......2007-12-14
Plug your iPod in (pretty much any model created in the past 4 years) and it will charge. Simple device, and for those that have a iPod that requires the dock connector cable, an extra one is included.
I had the previous generation charger which was larger -- this one is incredibly small and still lets you use the international changeable plugs.
You can use some powered USB hubs as well for charging iPods away from computers, but having the AC adapter is convenient for traveling.
The price isn't super cheap, but considering that the USB/dock cable included is $19 on its own, it makes the AC adapter only cost $10 -- not bad.
Not absolutely necessary for everybody. Perhaps I could have gone with a generic alternative, but would be slightly worried that it could blow up or something, and I also have some of the Apple international adapter plugs that work well with this adapter. In other words, the Apple white always looks cool and the small form factor is excellent.
Not a good value.......2007-12-11
I assumed that this charger would recharge my iPod faster than the usb connection on my computer.
But it doesn't and it's to expensive. I have seen third party chargers for much less.
Great Product!.......2007-12-07
This product is a genuine apple item. It is an easy way to charge you ipod. It is compact, easy to carry with you and is worth the price!
Recharge your iPod or iPhone with AC.......2007-12-05
This product also comes with a snap-off prong that connects to the power. If you buy Apple's world traveler kit you can also use this device outside of the United States. This product also includes a iPod/iPhone USB cable that can be used either with the plug, or connected to a USB port.
I've also used it to recharge other USB devices.
Does what it's supposed to.......2007-11-21
This came with my ipod when I bought it. It's nice to have around to charge your ipod if you don't have a computer around. Just plug it in and it'll charge the ipod in a couple of hours, and you can listen while it charges. Does what it says it will.
Having said that, I think it's kind of ridiculous that people are calling this a "must have". Obviously, it's not a must have, there's already a perfectly good way to charge your ipod. It's a handy thing to have around if you aren't always attached to your computer, and have an extra $30 that you don't have a better use for. If you are always going to have your computer with you when your ipod needs charging, then go spend your money on something else, because this gadget is pretty redundant.

Horrible waste of time, money.......2007-12-28
I bought this in hopes that I could cheaply and easily show videos from my iPod via my classroom TV. While the cable is CHEAP, the connection (both video and audio) is HORRID. I regret the purchase IMMENSELY and haven't even been successful in GIVING it away to a student! It's NOT worth paying for shipping at the price of shipping considering what I paid for it.
An ABSOLUTE waste of Money.
Don't do it!
New generation of iPod or 160GB........2007-12-24
This product works with old ver. of iPod. I just bought a new one 160GB, this cable never works. I had to buy the dock connector original cost 50$ to get video out.
Never got it to work........2007-12-15
I connected it to my ipod and to an outlet in my Sony receiver and the only thing that works is the audio. No video.
Item Doesnt Display Slideshow for NANO.......2007-12-11
I purchased this thinking it would be a cheaper version of Apples cables and still get to watch my photo slide show on the TV. NOT, this WILL NOT allow for that, it is only an audio cable.
If your just purchasing this item for audio, then its great for that, otherwise it will not work with the new generation IPODs, they have propriatary licence on the technology for it to work.
stopped working after about a month.......2007-12-10
the audio stopped working after about a month. and the video never worked for my ipod touch. very poor quality product.
Product Description
Your iPod shuffle is an incredible entertainment value in an incredibly small package. It delivers the music just like its full-size iPod cousins. But one thing it doesn't do is fit in the dock well in your made-for-iPod speaker system. That's why Griffin Technology made a Dock Adapter especially for 2nd generation iPod shuffle. The Dock Adapter is shaped just like the dock connector on the bottom of every full-size iPod. Plug it into your iPod shuffle's headphone jack, and suddenly the little guy fits in your iPod speakers just like the big guys.Take Griffin Dock Adapter with you, and you can play your iPod shuffle wherever there's a set of Universal Dock speakers.

Apple iPod Shuffle Dock - Works but Overpriced.......2007-11-17
This replacement dock is slightly better and cheaper than the one provided by Apple for the Shuffle. However, it is still overpriced. This product does work, but there are alternatives ranging from 40 cents to $5 that will do the same job.
This fills a product need created by Apple. If this was made better the Docks wouldn't break so easily. Normal USB adapters should have been included with the product instead of the mini-doc, or at least backup cables. A standard USB port connection could also have been used.
Check out the alternatives which are much more reasonably priced.
USB adapter for the 2 Gen Apple iPod Shuffle
APPLE Ipod Premium White USB Data / Charging Adapter Adaptor for Apple 2nd Generation Shuffle
IncipioBud USB adapter for the 2 Gen Apple iPod Shuffle
Having a backup dock or adapter is a must for your iPod shuffle. It just doesn't make sense to buy the expensive replacements.
Good luck!
almost works!.......2007-08-05
I see this, I think, cool! The wife can dock her shuffle in the JBL onstage I gave her.
NOT! Doesn't fit, no way in heavans half acre will this thing EVER fit the JBL dock.
Being a devout hacker, even after many minutes with the box knife and Dremel tool, it's a NO GO.
Not quite shure what Griffin was thinking when they designed this, but fitment in some docking devices is going to be tough.
Sooo, if you have a JBL onstage, don't waste your time and money!
Awesome! Provides Cheap way to Hack the SoundDock.......2007-07-04
Like the previous post, this thing provides an easy and cheap way to solderlessly to hack an aux input for the Sounddock.
I bought this and and a Belkin Speaker and Headphone splitter. (The Belkin splitter is needed in order to fit properly over the Shuffle plug on the device, but other cables/adapters might work.) I then removed the existing ipod stand plate? and plugged this in.
I set the switch to speaker and plugged in one end of the Belkin adapter. Any input signal automatically activates the Sounddock. Now you have a fully functional female and male stereo headphone input for your SoundDock.
-->Total cost ~$20-25 and no soldering required. (Custom cables or adpaters run ~$50-60) You thought your ipod sounds good on this thing, wait until you hear a CD.
Didn't work with DLO dock.......2007-06-18
Very disappointing -- didn't work with DLO dock, and doesn't even come close to fitting in the Mac's Universal Dock.
THIS THING IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!.......2007-04-27
I was kinda curious as to what this would do for my ipod shuffle and ended up finding out that this thing is just AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have the bose sounddock which unfortunately does not have an auxilary input, and i took a look at this and figured, heck, $13 (what i paid for it), it's worth a shot. I knew the shuffle has a proprietary jack, but the jack is only different on the third rung, and with the audio switch on, the third rung is disabled anywayz, which turns it into ur standard headphone jack. Be careful to NOT switch it to charging switch, who knows what it'll do. Anywayz, i took the extension cord that came with my bose quietcomfort 2 headphones, which were thankfully thin enough, and plugged it in. Electronics are idiots, all the sounddock knows is that there's an audio signal coming through and it plays it without complaining. This solution works great and is alot cheaper than any other method that i've seen.
Product Description
The iPod Compatible 3.5mm to Dock Connector Audio Cable allows you to play music from your iPod through your home or car stereo, computer, or notebook. The dock connector sends line level audio out from your iPod, providing better sound quality then when using the headphone jack. The dock connector also allows you to control the volume of your iPod through your stereo or computer instead of having to adjust the volume on the iPod. This cable works with all iPods with a dock connector, and the lightweight construction makes it easy to take it anywhere you go.
Customer Reviews:
Great Product.......2007-12-24
This is a great product, the only reason it doesn't get a 5 is because it doesn't charge the iPod. Otherwise it's great it gives great sound w/o you having to fool with the volume of the iPod. All volume control is transferred to your vehicle. If you're fine with charging your iPod outside of the car this is your device!
GREAT iPod Connector!!!.......2007-12-18
This is the best ipod connector I have found for listening to your ipod through your home or auto stereo......much much better than using the headphones jack outlet.
Just Awful........2007-12-18
The sound quality is absolutely terrible. Tried it on two stereos and my PC, all with the same result: sounded like am radio being played through a sheet of tin foil. Just awful.
Ipod.......2007-12-06
The product works great. It is a vast improvement over using the headphone jack on the ipod. However, the lead is not gold plated as in the picture, but I don't think that affects the sound quality.
iPod dock to mini-jack.......2007-11-26
Nice product. It works. I would think the really "cheap" connectors out there have "cheap" iPod connects (ie. those cheap chargers). this appears to be adequately constructed.

Sony i pod docking station.......2007-11-11
Product was delivered as advertised, functions very well, with easy installation. Would reccomend seller to all.
A must have!.......2007-11-08
I own a Sony surround system DVD player with a digital media port on the back of the player. Instead of buying external speakers for the iPod, I purchased this media port iPod cradle and thus connected my iPod to my surround system. I gained several advantages by doing this:
1. I saved money by not having to pay for expensive external speakers for my iPod
2. I saved on space, for my iPod was connected on existing speakers.
3. The sound is great, unmatched by any external speakers made for the iPod.
4. I can control my iPod with my Sony remote control. This saved me from having another remote control (as with buying an external speaker system for the iPod for example). With the remote control, you can control all the functions of the iPod
5. I connected my iPod to my TV, allowing me to watch the movies stored in my iPod on my TV screen. That feature alone is worth buying this iPod cradle.
6. The iPod cradle is cosmetically appealing.
Overall, this is really a great cradle for your iPod if you own a surround system with a digital media port.
No good for Ipod Touch.......2007-10-24
Very neat item and works well with the sony surround system I have, but if you are looking to get this to go with the Ipod-Touch it wont work. It does not show any of the video and pictures on the device. This was the main reason I bought, so a bit of a waste for me. I would go with something like the monster cable version and save yourself about $50.
Great Item to go with Sony Receiver.......2007-10-17
This is a really good product. I gave it only 4 stars because it has an on-tv-screen display menu for selecting songs and the like, however, I couldn't get it to run the video through the DMI port of my receiver and out the HDMI cable to my tv. Instead, I have to run the supplied yellow composite cable to the back of the tv, meaning I have to turn my tv's input to a different input instead of the one the receiver is on. It does work in a round-about sort of way. It could just be that I don't have it set up right. It is pretty sweet to listen to my ipod and be able to control it with the sony (or my Harmony) remote. It was kinda expensive. I feel the product should have been about $[...], however, I can't beat the control of my ipod with a remote and listening to it through my kick-butt system!
Good, but a little pricey.......2007-09-30
Would have been nice if they used HDMI instead of the typical "Sony proprietary" plug. That way, you would need on less cable.
Using the Sony remote to control the iPod isn't great, but I wasn't expecting it to be. Other less expensive units come with much better remotes, but I just like not having an extra remote that only controls one device. Using my home theater remote to control everything in my setup was my main reason for going with this model.
Also would be nice if the photo menu and thumbnails could be viewed on screen. You have to look at the iPod screen to view them, and then only after selecting an album and selecting slide show are they displayed on the TV. This is partially just the way the iPod its self is designed to work, though, but at this price I think they could have developed software for the cradle to ad this functionality.

Customer Reviews:
Works with iPhones and iPods, great cable.......2007-12-05
I wanted another cable so that I could connect my iPhone at work and not have to keep tracking my original cable back and fourth. This cable works fine and looks identical to the one that came from Apple.
good product.......2007-12-02
Service was fast however before I got the item, I found the one I was missing and although a month or so later, I attempted to contact the seller so I could attempt to return it and never got an answer either way.
Apple dock connector.......2007-11-01
works as a straight Ipod connector to USB. I wish I could find the dock to firewire, but Apple can't seem to support this format any more for some reason. Although, USB 2 is quite fast, it's still not as fast as the firewire connection I have. Price was an issue as well. Little pricey for this piece, but I had to replace a lost cable.
This is the official Apple cable, it's great!.......2007-10-27
Yes, this is the original cable made my Apple in their pretty packaging. I am replacing a cable that this bad on a 1st generation iPod Nano. In case you are thinking you have a bad cable, the iPod wouldn't charge, Windows didn't know I plugged anything in and the Nano would reboot over and over. With this new cable, it works great.
Great cable.......2007-10-04
The cable works just like the one I received when I purchased my Ipod. My original cable stopped sending information. The new cable transfers music quickly.

Customer Reviews:
OK, but could be better.......2007-12-16
I bought two of these items. One was defective. Not a good start, but the product is not bad considering it's the only option in this price range. There does seems to be some volume attenuation, but it is barely noticeable (i.e. the volume is a bit higher when the headphones are plugged directly into the source, versus through this splitter when it is on the maximum volume. Not sure the mute switch makes much sense. Why not have installed a mute switch for both sets of headphones? I can see more application for that than the current configuration.
Works great with Zune.......2007-10-16
There is a nearly identical Monster splitter on Amazon that is marketed to work with the MS Zune, however it costs almost twice as much as this splitter. If you have a Zune, buy this splitter instead. It works great and will save you money. Great for traveling. Just took it on a 10-hour flight to Europe with my wife.
PS - This will work with any device (not just a Zune) that has a standard 3.5 mm headphone output.
Misleading! Does NOT work with iPhone.......2007-09-05
Even though its listed as iPhone compatible on Amazon as well as Monster's own web site, it is not! I wish somebody would either fix their product claims or stop selling the wrong (old?) version of the product.
perfect.......2007-08-21
just what we were looking for! separate volume controls, since one person always wants it softer then the other, it works great!
Exactly What I Needed.......2007-08-04
I use this splitter to plug into my laptop, with one of the outputs going to my desktop speakers and one of them going to my headphones. Because of the mute function on the splitter, I can choose to listen only through my speaker or only through my headphones without having to fool with multiple plugs or mess with unbalanced jacks. (Yes, you have both sides unmuted so that sound comes out of both sources, but that doesn't make a lot of sense for my setup.) Additionally, the individual volume controls mean that I already have the volumes set just right individually for both the speakers and headphones, and I don't have to worry about accidentally being blasted away when I switch between the two. The sound quality is excellent, and the amount of hassle it saves me makes it well worth the money.

Customer Reviews:
Works like a charm........2007-12-27
I bought the item to plug into my iPod and my iPhone. I use it with the Motorola Shokr Bluetooth wireless headset. The items work great and the charge on the Jabra outlasts the charge on the headphones. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to cut the wires and enjoy listening to music wirelessly.
Not dissapointed.......2007-12-15
I purchased this because there was not a whole lot out at the time in this area. But since you have to have something to get your iPod bluetooth capable I went with this and was not dissapointed.
Cons:
Like everyone else has stated it doesn't lock into the iPod. I have never had a problem with it. I usually just put my iPod in my arm band upside down.
And it is bulky. But what can you expect when you have to plug it into the bottom. This is really on iPod for not making them bluetooth capable.
Pros:
Connects quickly and easily. And that is what it is for.
Works but Flimsy.......2007-12-11
It works just fine, if you are sitting your Ipod in 1 place and not moving it at all.
The adaptor does not hook in it just sits attached to the Ipod.
Making Ipod bluetooth compatiable.......2007-10-25
I wear the new Oticon EPOQ hearing aids with a streamer. before I purchased the Jabra, I had to physically connect a cable between the Oticon Streamer and the Ipod. Now the interface between my Ipod and hearing aids is completely wireless. For those that haven't investigated Oticon EPOQ hearing aids, I would urge you to. Instead of being hearing impaired, those of us that wear hearing aids become hearing empowered!
Jabra adapter and iPod??...forget it!!.......2007-09-27
Paired the Jabra adapter with my Motorola S9 bluetooth headphones...right away the music cuts in and out once I clip the iPod to my waistband (I guess this is considered 'out of range'...). As I start jogging, within the first minute the adapter falls out of the iPod and on to the ground. The reception and the mounting of this adapter is horrible. This product is a joke!

Customer Reviews:
Does not work with iPhone.......2007-12-24
Since the 1.1.1 release, iPhone now has video out - however, it does NOT work with this adapter. I think you have to buy the Apple component or composite cable.
Not compatable with 3g Nano.......2007-12-17
The quality of the cable itself is fine however I bought this cable because it listed as working with the Nano. After receiving it and was unable to get the Video to work. I called apple and they stated that this cable will not work with the 3G Nano's that I have. I wish the product had a more specific list to what it will and will not work with. I was going out of town and didn't have time now to order online again so I stopped at a Apple store and bought there cable for $50 and it works fine. Now I'm back home past the 30 day return policy and have a useless cable here.
Excellent cable.......2007-11-30
Good quality cable for hooking up a video ipod - I'm very pleased with it. Note that a converter cable is included so that you can hook up to standard RCA video inputs instead of S-video if you need to.
Nice if it worked........2007-11-29
Not sure if it's nice or not. Having trouble outputting video from the Ipod Classic. Heard an array of issues stemming from accessories needing an apple compatible chip to the player software itself causing the issue. The cable looks nice - and I think Monster has nice products, just that they are over price for what they are. So this review probably isn't much help, but thought you ought to make sure what version you have a do a little reading before you purchase.
Works great!.......2007-11-13
Plugged my Ipod video for the first time to my TV yesterday - works great! I have an old TV with a coax connected to my even older VCR. Used the Monster ITV Link to connect the Ipod (via the dock connector) to a Line-in on the VCR. Used the supplied S-Video to Composite Video adapter, adjusted the Video Settings on the Ipod to TV Out - we have picture and sound on the TV! Depending on the quality of the video, the picture can be a little grainy - but I think that has more to do with the quality of the video than the cable. The ITV Link also has a mini USB port on it, so you can charge the Ipod while watching - avoid the Ipod from dying on you in the middle of a movie. So I have the ITV Link hooked to the USB Power Adapter via a USB to mini B cable.
There may seem to be a lot of cables and adapters involved - but it really isn't hard to hook-up. Just add these to the already growing mass of wires and cables behind your home entertainment center.

Customer Reviews:
Not the best choice.......2007-12-05
The thing is not bad, but the battery run out very quickly and is very bulky also
Paired with Jabra BT620s Headphones and Moto Q Cell.......2007-09-23
After successfully pairing these items with my Ipod I am now completely free to move my hands around without an annoying cord. The only complication is that the stereo bluetooth signal sometimes cuts out especially in stores like Walmart where there is a lot of signal noise. Other than that it works great! When you get a call you just tap the left side of the headphones and you can answer the call and then tap it again when the call ends and you are listening to your favorite music or podcast. This is a must have combination for the true technophile. Ipod charges through the Ten Technology naviPlay when connected so at least you can charge one less thing.
Excellent Bluetooth for iPod.......2007-09-04
I use this with a 30gb video ipod, and the S9 by Motorolla. The sound is much better then expected. It does cut out when in very busy places, like the train station, also there is no case in existance that will hold this with the adapter on it.
The built in stand is pretty sweet for desktop use.
The biggest issue is that the directions don't tell you how to actually pair this item with a headset. I will tell you here...
Press and hold the power button of the Adapter for at least 8 seconds (may take up to 15 seconds) continuously. While you are holding the power button down the LED indicator will first flash green only (start up mode), then flash green and amber alternating slowly (successful startup), and finally change to a rapid alternating green and amber: the Adapter is now in Pairing Mode. When you see the LED switch to Pairing Mode, the power button can be released and the unit should stay in Pairing Mode with the LED continuing to quickly flash alternating green and amber (the flashing cycle time should be less than a second). The Adapter will stay in this mode waiting for you to put the Headset into pairing mode as well for about 3 minutes.
NO PAIR NO WAY.......2007-08-03
I REALY TRIED TO PAIR THIS DEVICE. IT MUST HAVE BEEN DEFECTIVE. IT WOULD NOT PAIR WITH ANYTHING I HAVE. AT THE SAME TIME, I WAS ABLE TO PAIR MOTOROLA 850 HEADPHONES TO MY RAZOR PHONE, AND MAC MINI. ALSO PAIRED PALM TO MINI. REPLACED WITH A MOTOROLA BLUETOOTH BASE DC200 AND ANYCOM BLUETOOTH IPOD ADAPTER FROM ANTONLINE . ALL PAIRED WITHOUT A PROBLEM. I AM A MACHINIST IN A LOUD SHOP. ALL THE ABOVE ITEMS WORK GREAT. EXCEPT THE TEN TECH. BLUETOOTH
One of the better bluetooth adapters for iPod and works with the iPhone..........2007-07-16
There's a few ways to get your iPod to have bluetooth support for wireless stereo headsets but this is one of the better ones. While not perfect, the naviPlay does the job, has a long battery life, is easy to set up and pair, and most importantly, works with the iPhone (mostly).
Here's the scoop...
PROS:
- Paired effortlessly with all the headsets I tried
- Robust support for A2DP Bluetooth profile (volume and song advancement controls work)
- Battery life is approximately 10 hours a charge, very nice!
- Charges off USB using the iPod's dock cable
- Doubles as an iPod dock
- Has a very useful on-demand stand to hold the iPod/iPhone at an angle
CONS:
- Made of flimsy feeling plastic
- Recessed button to pair/turn on/off is hard to reach and press
- Stand props will wear out soon
- Works with iPhone just fine but iPhone will warn you every time that it's not made for it
While the iPhone supports mono phone headsets in Bluetooth, real stereo headsets (A2DP) don't work yet. While none of the available options are perfect, this is the best way to go currently.
Final Note: TenTechnology, the maker of naviPlay, has apparently gone out of business. Buyer beware.
