Almost half of the total package was failed to burn on my Pioneer dvd+R writer.
I didn't have any problem with Sony medias before.
Don't even try this junk.
7.96GB, not 8.5GB.......2007-12-16
Tried a few so far (with Nero) and it worked fine. The only negative thing noticed is that the size of the disk reported by both the operating system and the DVD recorder is 7.96G, not 8.5G as advertized.

It seems that Verbatim NOW is manufacturing 2.4x DLs in INDIA, which results in POOR QUALITY DISCS. Made in Singapore discs are the best. Does anybody know where is this batch from Amazon made?
Not working with a Sony drive.......2007-12-06
The first five of five disks failed with a Sony DRU-810A drive. They may be fine disks, but they don't work with my equipment. Switching back to Memorex disks solved the problem.

I've used a number of brands of blank media, and I've definitely had more problems with other brands than i have had with verbatim. I never seem to get coasters from these discs, compared to having had at least 1/5 of my discs from other brands turn out to be useless. One thing though: I burn at pretty low speeds (like x2 or x4) just to be careful, so I can't really say how they work at v. high speed burning, but they've been great for me.

I ordered two sets of discs - these and another brand that was slightly cheaper (a box of 25 for about the same price and this box of 20).
I was very nervous about these, because of the higher price and the "2.4x" burning speed.
I was able to burn these at "8x" (it was a valid option for me in Nero, I didn't have to do anything special to trick it or force it into the higher speed).
Even a 8x I have has PERFECT RESULTS with these, while the other brand (advertised to be 8x) struggled even when I tried slower burn speeds.
Technically this DESERVES 5 STARS, but it really hurts to pay close to $3/disc. Ouch. That's why I dropped it down to a 4-star rating. But I love inkjet-printable discs, I needed dual layer for this project, and a good $3 disc is better than a $2.50 coaster.
FYI - My burners at NEC ND-3520A and ND-3550A. Other burners may have different results, so always test before you order massive quantities of any brand of blank discs.

I just finished a huge wedding DVD project on my iMac, and after making 5 coasters in a row using Memorex discs I gave up. I almost ended up buying an extrenal burner thinking the problem was my built-in drive on my computer. Then I read on some help forums that Verbatim is the brand to use. So I ordered these and burned 8 DVDs in a row with no errors or problems, and the printable surface allowed me to print a high-quality picture on them. I couldn't be happier!

These media work well to burn DL disks in a number of different DL burners, mostly at 2.4x or 4x. Copies work on several different set-top boxes tested. Like ALL DL disks, TOO EXPENSIVE! This product tends to burn well, with 4 out of 50 "coasters." If you MUST use DL disks, these are good. The white surface takes ink better than the comparable Ridata disks, which are a bit less expensive, but print with noticeably less vibrant color.

Defective disks.......2007-12-26
I purchased 2 packages of these and tried burning 4 disks from one package and 1 disk from the other--each with different content. My burner showed the burns as being successful, but, when played, each disk faltered at about 70% through. The disks would then intermittenly run and pause for about five minutes before normally playing again until reaching about 95% of the recording before freezing completely.
As it's a real bummer to watch 95% of a recording and then not be able to watch the ending; don't buy Matrix disks.
Not really worth it........2007-12-26
DL DVD+R's are usually (in my experience) twice the price of normal DVD+R's and so this spindle seemed like a decent purchase. But my Nero external DVD burner on my PC & the DVD burner on my Macbook Pro were not fond of these blanks.
I made more coasters with these on my PC than any other brand of DVD+R DL that I've used and not once could I get my Macbook Pro (that was bought in June of 2007 with a 2.4GHz Processor) to burn one at all.
Fortunately, the Wal-Mart near where I live had their Sony DVD+R DL 10 Packs mispriced and I was able to finish the project I was working on.

Read the reviews but at the price had to do some expermentin'.
Burns well on my HP 940i, but will not even get off the ground on my HP 640i. Just finished off my whole 25 cake box and made one coaster as I had a brownout which caused my confuser to reboot. I lose more confusers that way[;-(
Would order another box except I prefer printable disks and LightScribe. Otherwise might gamble on another box. If these can't be read in a couple of months I will update this report.
Bad Product.......2007-09-30
Stay away from this media. As other reviews suggest, you will be lucky to get a good burn. I've tried in three different dvd burners with minimal success. I suggest you try the Matrix 8x speed double layer media instead if your burner can handle that speed. I've had much more success with those. I also recommend the Memorex double layer dvd's as they have worked very well for me also.
