I have ordered Verbatim - 10 x DVD+R 4.7 GB 16x - jewel case - storage media, I have received in time but instead of 4 x 10 i got 1 x 4. Called amazon and told them about the problem, Within another 5 days got a call from cyberguys and explaining the issue about the amazon messup. i.e. even though Amazon website messed up instead of 1 they have added 10. So they have sent another 36 free of charge. i was amazed by the service i got from cyberguys. i would prefer to buy from cyberguys because of the service

Amazion mistakenly indicated that the item was a 10 pack. The vendor shipped me 1 10 pack when I ordered 10 10 packs. After calling customer service for cyberguys they honored the mistake and shipped the remaining 90 disks, These disks burn great with no errors or coasters.

I ordered this thinking it was a ten pack (as the title says) but it was only a single DVD+R. What a deal, since after shipping I paid almost seven dollars for this one disc. Dispute still pending.
Update- Cyberguys! quickly and cheerfully refunded my shipping charges at my request leaving my total cost at only 99 cents for the DVD+R.

When it comes to rating DVD media the only criteria that counts is how well they work in your DVD writer/player. I have tried all the major brands and some of the others as well. This particular Verbatim disk is the only one that has given me 100% burn success with over 200 disks made. In addition they have all played without error in every player tried.
I use a HP DVD1040i and Iomega Super DVD to write my DVDs. Many of the DVDs I create (perhaps half) are given to others, so they are played using many different players.
Your results may be different depending on the equipment you use but these could be worth a try.

Being an old time computer and video geek from way back when, I have gone trough my fair share of various recording media. Recently most of the DVD disk makers have gone to higher speeds and my Panasonic recorder was having quite a few issues with the drive not reading a number of brands. In other words, I was getting quite a few coasters and my recorder is just 2 years old.
On one of my last DVD disk purchases, I picked up a Spindle of 100 DVD-R disks made by Verbatim and was very pleased with the outcome. No more coasters!! Needless to say, I have been burning up a storm with these disks and I will never go back to other brand names.

Never have done a review before, but after trying to burn three of these, I feel I have to warn some people since I bought these solely on the high review compared to Memorex.
I own a MacBook Pro and have been burning movies for a while using Memorex with no problem. Just wanted to try a different brand and boy do I regret it.
Burning is no problem with the Verbatim. Burns fine, verifys ok. Put it in the DVD player, and bam....first one paused, skipped ahead 8 minutes. Second movie paused in several parts. Third movie did the same, pause, restart, pause. Unwatchable. Im seeing if i can actually return these.
Avoid at all costs especially if you have a Mac.

Verbatim knows how to make a quality DVD+R. I have been through four 100-packs without a single coaster (or, in other words, a disk that doesn't burn correctly and ends up in the trash). It's easy to be tempted by the bulk or budget burnable CDs and DVDs, but you quickly realize that you're not saving money when you have to reburn half of the disks due to errors. In my opinion, it's worth it to spend the extra money on the Verbatim name.

I use these disks for all my burning. They are compatable with everything I ahve put them in, including at least 10 different DVD players. I only recently found another brand that seems to work and is much cheaper. Memorex DVD-R, they use to not work in almost any of my DVD players about 3 years ago so I used Verbatim... I was forced to use them about a month ago and now they are working just as good.
Bottom Line, Verbatim is a great fall back and if you want to take a slight chance to save some money try Memorex DVD-r
Best DVD Disks for older recorders.......2007-12-06
Having been into video since the late 70's, I have used numerous products for video recording. Recently DVD makers have gone to higher speed disks and my Panasonic recorder (Just a few years old) was having major problems with reading and writing to a number of brands out there.
I purchased a 100 pack of Verbatim DVD-R disks for my unit and have not had a coaster yet. All were handled well by my Panasonic recorder. After this, I will not buy other brands in the future. If looking for a quality DVD disk that will read and write well with older DVD units, you should check out Verbatim - I think you will be happy with the results!

I have ALWAYS been pleased with Verbatim's products. Others have a few bad disks and recommend the use of other DVD+R disks. Well I went through the effort to try them out. Of the other companies I have used and tested, which were: Memorex, Sony, Fuji, TDK, Maxell, and Dynex, I found Verbatim to give me less "coasters" and more effective copies of DVDs, Data Disks, and Photo Video DVDs than any other brand.
These are must haves for anyone who makes of the DVD+R products.

I have no complaints regarding reliability - out of 20 disks no single error. However, LightScribe image is pretty bad. Whenever I tried to print an enough complicated picture, i.e. which needed all surface printing - there were white spots. This never happened with media that I purchased before.

For the price and performance, Verbatim products can seldom be beaten. Do not let the price tag fool you: there are DVD-Rs for sale at 15-20 cents each (these are 50 cents), but fail to deliver whereas these are flawless. 25 burns and 25 successes, all at 16x as advertised. I've ordered another couple of hundreds. Great performance! Highly recommended.

This was my first experience with -R discs. Product produced no coasters for the whole 25 discs in the first spindle. My DVD burner did not want to burn them at anything above 4X, but I never go above 8X on Lightscribe discs anyway.

I use only class 1 blanks for archiving photos. Using the DVD Identifier software, these are the best disks. Many manufacturers make good disks but then get subcontractors to make runs for price competitive disks with their name. These disks are both price competitive and Class 1.

So far I've only been using it to record movies off the television and it's worked perfectly. I even recorded a pay per view and the quality was great. No coasters here! I'd reccomend these to anyone and I'll be back for more when I finish what I purchased.
