Customer Reviews:
Works great with my recorder.......2007-12-20
I have burned over 300 of these brand of blank DVDs which should speak volumes. Sure there are a few duds in the pack, but I am more willing to acknowledge that as a hardware issue than a software one. I am perfectly happy with the quality of the discs and when I record HD programming from my DirecTV HD DVR I get discs with content that is extremely close (read barely notice the difference) to HD themselves.
Recommended.
Blank DVD +/- R's.......2007-11-30
The best, and at a very good price. All blank media is NOT the same; there are real differences in recordability (instance of recording errors), compatability, clarity, etc. I've tried several brands, and Memorex is just the best -- without being the most expensive.
16x coaster.......2007-11-16
Pay attention to the reviews here. These discs do not work. I got about 1 out of 10 to work using 2 different DVD writers.
Price is right on.......2007-10-25
Just try to find this many DVD's that are write ables anywhere else for the same price locally was foolish. They work like a charm albeit I am just spinning 8x not the full 16x speed as described but they burn great so far. Not sure if I will ever need any more than 100 DVD's but who knows?!?
fine DVD-R discs with just a note or two about them..........2007-10-24
Memorex makes a very reliable blank DVD-R that can handle up to 4.7 GB of data. Moreover, these blank DVD-Rs are capable of recording data at speeds up to 16x. The data I record onto these lasts for years, proving the test of time. I have used these as data discs, discs to record video and discs to record video. Great!
The DVD-R discs are compact and easy to store. While the discs are still blank, store them in the circular case on the spindle that they came in. After your burn data onto them, I would recommend storing them in slim jewel cases instead of paper sleeves. It's just better protection for your DVD-Rs that have data stored on them. Don't store these discs, burnt or blank, in rooms that become very hot; this causes damage to any brand of this type of disc and you could lose data over time.
There are two caveats that many other people note about any brand of this product: when you are burning the data onto the blank disc, don't be surprised if you see that the data is burning at a rate slower than 16x. This can happen if your burner doesn't have the capacity to burn faster, or it may be a quirk. I am not a professional so I cannot be certain of precisely what causes this phenomenon; but I assure you that the extra minute or two (tops) that you wait to get your DVD-R completed is worth the wait. In addition, DON'T write on these using Sharpie ink pens. The ink can seep through the top coating of the DVD-R disc and slowly but surely compromise your data--and you wouldn't want that, now would you? If you need to label the discs, label its' jewel case using a post-it note. At least that's what I do.
Overall, Memorex blank DVD-R discs store data reliably over the years and I believe that an extra minute to burn the data onto the blank disc is well worth it in the event that it doesn't actually burn at 16x.
Use them in good health!

Great recording media.......2007-12-12
I have bought this recording media before, and will by it again. I never have any difficulty with it, it doesn't matter if I'm making system backups, or burning old movies recorded from cable, It's always good quality, and if you look around you can find a price that makes it a bargain, too
OMG!.......2007-08-05
I wasn't happy at all with this item because when I tried to burn movies into this blank DVDs, some of them did not work! I completely wasted about 4 blank DVDs. They did not work properly. I would recommend others to use different DVDs.
Excellent Product! .......2006-11-07
I have used over three hundred of these disks, and have only found one flawed. Produces an extremely clear video product.

Customer Reviews:
not what I expected.......2007-04-23
I burned about 75 of the 100 in the spindle and about 2o were defective in some way, most not not advancing from one tract to another. I will be looking for other brands next time I purchase, even if more costly. I have some Staples brand CD's which seem to be about as good a quality but cheaper. I have a 6mo. old Dell E-310 computer. It should not be a computer problem so I have to attribute the problem to the CD's.
CD Spindle.......2007-03-29
Great quality!! Printing on them looks fantastic! The only disc's we use! We use alot!!
My husband and sister own a photography company, and they use the disc's to give the family members of the bride and groom viewable images to them using these disc's!!

Customer Reviews:
save your money!!.......2006-04-23
i thought that brand name stuff was aupposed to be better than generic. definetly not true in this case. these were, hands down, the worst dvdrs i have ever used. i would have to say between 1/3 and 1/2 of the discs were coasters or malfunctioned in some way. buy tdk or verbatim instead.
Incompatibility Issues.......2006-02-25
I have an HP Media Center with a 16x DVD +_ Burner, but it would not write to these DVDs. I previously had some GQ +R DVDs and had no problems. HP said their burners can have compatibility issues with Memorex, Maxell, and TDK brands - they recommend using HP (duh!) and Sony brands, so they were of no help. So, I bought some new GQ -R DVDs and they work fine so I think I'll stick with them. They cost less than all the others too.
I returned the opened, remaining Memorex DVDs to Amazon and they gave me a full refund! Kudos to them!!!

Customer Reviews:
Despite lack of colour worked great!.......2007-12-21
I actually bought the 10 pack at Target to try when we got a new HP Tower that had a Lightscribe drive. I was very happy with it. It took me a little while to figure it out but you look at the pictures and read the instructions and figure it out. Just because something is new does not mean it will eat you.
While it is a bit sad that you can not do colour in the labeling they turned out very well. I used a mid-sized background which would cover font to see how good the contrast was and was happy with it. Completely legibile, both the English words and the Chinese characters. I just ran the program as it came on the tower and was very happy. I was happy, the person it was for was happy, and the person who was using it was happy and very impressed with it (though that may be because they are still living in the era of Sharpies and printed labels - thermal printing impresses them).
Lightscribe side doesn't work.......2007-10-20
I am able to burn data to the data-side of the discs, but my HP Lightscribe DVD burner will not recognize these Memorex discs as Lightscribe discs, so a Lightscribe labels cannot be burned.
Just didn't work.......2007-05-17
My computer couldn't register them as valid media. Very frustrating. Diagnostics on my drive worked fine, and other media worked fine. Honestly, I think that Memorex just cut too many corners.
Unusable.......2007-03-03
I bought these for use with my HP DVD740e Lightscribe DVD burner. The device would not write to them. Not one of them! I have never had this problem when using similar blanks with HP and Verbatim labels. The Memorex blanks I had were made by CMC Magnetics. What a waste.
FYI - Windows users can get a small -- but distinct -- increase in label darkness with the use of a free utility found on LightScribe's site. It increases the contrast. "Best" quality labels do take longer to create.
I guess Amazon does not allow web addresses. If you want the utility, search for "Lightscribe Exstended Label Contrast Utility" without the quotes. Or you can take a big guess at the name of a commercial site devoted to LightScribe.
JUST WHAT THEY SAY THEY ARE.......2007-01-08
SHOP AROUND AND YOU CAN FIND THESE FAIRLY INEXPENSIVE. THEY ARE LIGHTSCRIBE CD-Rs. THEY WORK GREAT AND LOOK GREAT!

Customer Reviews:
great product. recieved product in reasonalble time........2007-01-31
I got the Pocket CD-rw and have no problems with them. Great product. Meets all expectations.
Sony Mavica users rejoice!.......2007-01-21
After searching high and low in the St. Louis area, even at camera stores that once sold the Mavica, I could not find any mini CD-RW's for my Mavica. Sony had them on line, but at a much higher price. If you need the CD-RW for your Mavica, this Memorex CD-RW 5 pack is much cheaper than the 3 pack Sony sells online at around $25. These Memorex minis work great in our Mavica.

These are very good data storage discs. The only way to improve upon them is to buy a larger set of discs, for better value.

Good value.......2007-12-17
I continually need more capacity for data archiving, these are great until I can afford blu-ray
Just OK, not worth the savings.......2007-11-21
I bought these Memorex because they were so much cheaper than the Verbatim. For me, a mistake. I knew it was a risk as all the reviews I read made this clear. But, I decided to gamble and it didn't work out. Out of 25 I had 7 coasters. Then I bought the Verbatim and got a 100% return. In the end, it was not worth the hassle and may have costs me more.
Dual Layer DVD+R.......2007-11-07
Awesome product. Simply awesome! Great disks that burn perfectly. No coasters here!
Wow.......2007-10-30
I would keep an eye on this products price, i bought a few months ago for $20, not sure why it is so much more expensive now. I wouldnt buy at this price.
As for the quality, I've had a decent amount of burn failures, and while i'm not sure if this is a result of my burner or the DVDs, i'd say these are not a bad choice for people wanting DL DVDs
Don't buy.......2007-10-02
3 disk out of the whole box worked. Would not buy this product. All of the sony ones I bought worked great but cost more. You get what you pay for.

Memorex 25 pack CDRW80 Discs.......2007-11-09

Doesn't work well .......2007-05-06
Tried several discs several times, always got, not at the same locations. Never had this problem with a cd-r.
Should have known better from the other ratings.......2007-05-04
After trying to format the first 5 and having 3 fail outright and 1 succeed but then be unwritable, (could only write to 1 of 5) I returned the remainder for a refund.
Don't buy.......2005-11-17
These blank discs are defective. I was never able to record any pictures or audio data to them.
The Maxell blank discs that I have did the job fine.
Be careful purchasing from J&R Music and Computer World .......2005-08-11
I purchased 4x-12x speed rw CDROM and they sent me 24X. I called them and they have no stock - instead of notifying me my product is not in stock they intentionally sent me the wrong product. Now I have the hassle of returning it....
