DVD-R spindle.......2007-09-04
I have used this product before and it works great. Once in a while I will get a disc or two that do not work. I was disappointed when I received these in the mail because the spindle was busted in three spots and the discs were wedged in so hard that many were scratched badly. There was no cushioning in the box. So far only a few dics are bad. I am otherwise satisfied and know this was just bad shipping.

I have not had a bad burn of the 150 Ive used to burn vhs movies to dvd, dvd to dvd, and tv to dvd on my jvc dr-m100. Anyone complaining about these discs is having a problem with some other component of their burning system.

Best DVD+R media.......2006-12-05
This is the most reliable brand out there that I have come accross. Out of my last 50 disk spindle, NOT ONE was a dud. No burn errors at all. To the dude saying he gets a bunch of DVD burn
errors, that's something wrong with your setup. If you have a USB DVD burner make sure it is connected to a 2.0 USB and not a 1.0 port. That will cause a lot of burn errors.

These DVD+R's are as good as you can get. They work well with every type of burner. I use them for my Liteon 5005 DVD Recorder and also on my Dell computer with absolutely NO problems.

I found this media on sale at a local store here..Buy one get one free for 24.99 50 DVD+r spindles..I thought..WOW what a great deal....WRONG!!!!
About 15 in each spindle ended up as coasters ( burn error) then pop another in..great burn...
It was at the point during the burn proccess, i litereally cross my fingers and hope i'd get a succesful burn...
please ignore the other two reviews.. go with memorex..tdk, sony..or best yet..VERBATIM...
This is my first review of any item..and becuase the product was so under-par and unreliable..in both my 50 spindles..I just had to say something
You are even better of buying store brand DVD+R... as i have had no problems with them... even in their 100 spindles (ie Office max, Staples and even khyber Media...

BEST RECORDABLE DVD+R's I'VE FOUND.......2005-05-25
I have a Lite On LVW-5001 DVD Recorder and I've found Maxell DVD+R or RW disk work the best. I like the 4X speed better because you can record up to 6 hours but the 8X disk will only record 4 hours without skips. My Lite On will record up to 8X speed and only + NOT - DVD's so make sure you obtain the right disks. Some brands still don't work even if you get the right type. I have had some problems with Memorex but I couldn't get Ridata to record at all, I hope this info will help you make a wise selection.(...)

What utter garbage these discs are. I have never experienced such an abysmal failure rate for any product in my life. Out of 7 discs, 5 failed. After that, I couldn't be bothered trying any more. I had been using a batch of TDK discs before, but only switched to the Maxell because I couldn't write on the TDKs! Bad move - I had not a single problem in 10 TDK discs, unlike the 5 out of 7 failures with Maxell. I will NEVER buy another Maxell product again, and I would strongly urge anyone else to do likewise. Incidentally, my DVD recorder is a Panasonic, not some fly-by-night job no-one's ever heard of.

I have been a longstanding, loyal Maxell customer when it comes to blank audio cassette tapes and VHS tapes. Maxell's tapes were the best.
I carried this loyalty over to Maxell's line of blank +R DVDs. I stupidly bought spindle packs three times, despite a large burn failure rate. After this third purchase and suffering a large failure rate again, in TWO different burners, I must sadly say that I will buy them no longer. I got an email back from tech service from the manufacturer of one burner who said they are simply not recommended for use in their recorder.
Now, if you have had different experiences, more power to you. But be aware that many people are experiencing poor results with this product. The two brands of burners I have tried them in are Cyberhome, and Memorex Burners. Neither have had any problem with most other brands of blanks, just the Maxell.

Thanks for the speedy delivery. Hard to find sources for print to center DVD's and so far haven't had any problem with failure rates and such. I want 16x or better, so no problem with compatibility. Recommend!
incorrect labeling.......2007-06-09
prduct was not labeled correctly. labeled as "8X speed", but actually product is "16X speed" which will not work on my machine. electronic media must be labeled exactly correct to confirm compatability with customer's systems.
misleading product description.......2005-09-24
This product labeled as a 4x dvd-r is incorrectly labeled. I ordered it and returned it twice because Amazon sent me the 8x dvd-r. If they don't have a 4x in stock they should NEVER substitute with another format. These do NOT work in all DVD burners. Very inconvenient and a waste of time waiting for the item
