Panasonic Type-30 HHR-P402A Rechargeable Battery.......2007-10-02
I purchased this battery as a replacement for the one that died 5mos. ago before writing this review. I am more than satified with its ability to sustain a charge.
Very Good Telephone Rechargeable Battery.......2007-09-09
These batteries are reliable, long lasting, and are the battery of choice for all of our cordless telephones. After buying just two, we ordered additional replacement batteries and will continue to use only the Panasonic batteries in the future.
BAD BATTERIES * Just Say No*.......2007-08-09
Picked these up last spring.
Needed 3 for my 3 phone units.
Stay away from these, they do not
charge properly.
After 6 months of very light
use....I have to have 2 phones close by...
because one will die during my telephone
call.
These batteries are good for a
25 minute charge at best!

The Panasonic KX-TH111S cordless phone system utilizes 5.8 GHz Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum technology, meaning that it operates on a different wavelength with much less traffic than the 2.4 GHz technology while maintaining the great security, incredible clarity and long range. Have a wireless computer network, or thinking about getting one? 5.8 GHz technology will not interfere with wireless networks such as 802.11b or 802.11g WiFi. The system expands to accommodate a total of eight cordless handsets. It can also make use of cellular convergence technology, coordinating with up to five Bluetooth-compatible cell phones so you can share cellular system features with your land line.
Always Know Who's Calling
The KX-TH111S is call waiting caller ID compatible (requires a subscription) and requires no batteries to operate. A three-line LCD screen on the base and four-line LCD on the handset provide access to the name and number of the person calling, along with the date and time of their call. You can scroll through the list of the 20 most recent calls, and redial any of them with the touch of a button.
Hands-free Operation
A headset jack is located on the handset, and can accommodate a standard 2.5 mm headset (available separately); a speakerphone is also located on the base, supplying you with hands-free operation. A redial button lets you quickly dial the last outgoing number, while the flash button provides access to call waiting. Handset and ringer volume controls allow you to adjust levels to your liking.
What's in the Box:
Base, cordless handset, AC adapter, handset battery, belt clip, battery cover, telephone line cord, printed user's guide, warranty card
Customer Reviews:
Blue Tooth does not work: do not buy.......2007-12-09
This is a worthless "Cell Phone" product. It does not work with MOST cell phones. Good thing Amazon will take this back.
Bluetooth Problems.......2007-12-07
I purchased this cordless telephone to work with my Sprint Pocket PC Cell Phone, also known as the PPC-6700. The bluetooth connection located the cell phone and established the proper connection.
Every call placed and received from the cordless KX-TH11S worked as expected but the volume was very low and weak. This was a problem for both the caller and the person called. After a dozen or more calls, I determined this low volume unacceptable and returned the unit.
Still looking for a solution to merge my bluetooth cell phone to a cordless telephone, I purchased the at&t EP5632 to see how it would perform. The at&t cordless telephone worked great with the cell phone calls, both incoming and outgoing. All volume levels are good. Problem solved.
Very bad experience.......2007-11-22
When I ordered the product, I misunderstood that it was a single line telephone rather than a two line telephone. I returned the product and ordered the two line telephone from Amazon. Over one month later, and after repeated promises, e-mail and telephone confirmations to provide a credit for the returned telephone, Amazon has still not credited my account. Make sure that before you order it is exactly what you want as you may never get your money back.
Works great, no complaints using Blackberry Pearl 8100.......2007-11-01
Although this device is not advertised as being compatible with any RIM phones I decided to give it a try. Does not auto-link to cellphone, you must press a button on the base to link when you enter the room/house. Stays connected throughout my entire house, I physically have to go outside to break the bluetooth link.
Just make sure you buy this from Amazon as the seller, so if it doesn't work with your particular cell phone you can return it, no regrets.
Slight annoyances: like every Panasonic cordless I've ever had the "missed calls" display is annoying; once in 15 times it takes two hits of the connect button to connect to my cellular phone; handset and base have dissimilar speed dial lists. This is great for multi-handset setups but slightly annoying on the main handset.
I really like being able to silence the ringer (when ringing) by just hitting the "off" button and being able to have separate ringers (or "off") on base and/or handset for both landline and cellular.
No addressboook push via BT to the Pearl, CID info does pass thru though (very nice).
Slight tangent:
I noticed my first ever BT traffic collisions when I set this phone up on the same desk as my laptop. . .I really have to have a lot of these cooking, but something to think about if you run into problems with any of your BT devices. All these have to be on for me to notice any funkiness (usually first manifests itself as BT mouse herky-jerkiness): BT mouse, laptop BT radio, KX-TH111 base, KX-TH111 handset, RIM Pearl BT radio, Jabra BT headset. Thats a lot of junk and most of it is redundant, I've learned to turn off as many of the BT radios as possible (and also disable unneeded cellphones lying around) so you dont get that annoying interference in telephones and speakers. Or turn the discovery mode off, this well help a lot too.
A TOTAL ERROR AND COMPLETELY USELESS RE CELL PHONES.......2007-10-26
AFTER too much time expired, I found out that my cell phone -- and MOST cell phones and blue tooth devices -- will NOT be compatible with the bluetooth reception of this phone.
So, for me, it works as a regular phone, but NOT as a "LINK TO CELL" device.
The other NEGATIVE reviews on this product are accurate in this vein, and you win some and you lose some in life.
On this purchase, I lost.
Amazon.com Product Description
Your son takes his first step, or your daughter takes her encore bow at her first recital. Luckily, you were ready with your digital camera and caught this historic moment. But wait! The photo you took is blurry. In your excitement, you accidentally shook the camera just as you snapped the shutter. If this has ever happened to you--and you are by no means alone!--then you'll want to take a close look at the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ3 5-megapixel digital camera with 6x image-stabilized optical zoom.
The Lumix DMC-LZ3 was designed specifically to address the universal problem of "hand-shake"--the culprit of the majority of blurred digital images. At the heart of the Lumix DMC-LZ3 is Panasonic's Mega Optical Image Stabilizing System, or Mega O.I.S. A built-in gyrosensor detects any hand movement and relays a signal to a tiny microcomputer inside the camera, which instantly calculates the compensation needed. A linear motor then shifts the O.I.S. lens as necessary to guide incoming light from the image straight to the CCD. All this happens seamlessly and behind the scenes. All you'll notice will be the camera's outstanding results.
Mega O.I.S. is effective in most shooting situations, such as dimly lit indoor shots, nighttime shots, or macro shots. However, when taking indoor shots of moving subjects, such as children or pets, the movement of the subject tends also to contribute to the blurring. For this, the Lumix DMC-LZ3 features a high sensitivity mode to prevent hazy motion effects, further expanding your range of crisp, clear photo expression.
Another outstanding feature is the Lumix DMC-LZ3's 6x optical zoom. This powerful zoom--the equivalent to a 37mm to 222mm zoom on a 35mm film camera--lets you easily capture and magnify subjects in distant locations, and also produces impressive photos with soft-focused backgrounds. The zoom lens crystallizes Panasonic's optics technology, using two aspherical lenses to achieve compactness and boost optical performance. Together with the camera's 4x digital zoom, you can enjoy up to 24x zoom power--an amazing 888mm zoom equivalent on a 35mm camera.
With the consecutive shooting feature of Lumix DMC-LZ3, nothing will sneak past your photographic gaze. In one second, you can take up to five consecutive images in standard mode, and three images in fine mode with full resolution. In addition, the Unlimited Consecutive Shooting function lets you continue shooting until the memory card or built-in memory is full. All this is made possible by Panasonic's Venus Engine Plus, which reduces power consumption by about 50 percent compared with earlier Venus Engine-equipped models.
A bright 2.0-inch LCD monitor is easy to see when taking photos. The pixel-mixed readout method is used to automatically increase the brightness level of live images according to the level of ambient darkness. This allows bright, easy framing of scenes that would normally be too dark to see. The large LCD also allows the display of images even in tiny thumbnail size. Playback of 9, 16, and 25 images is possible on a multi-split screen in addition to the normal single frame playback. This helps you to search for the image you want out of a number of images stored on your SD memory card.
The DMC-LZ3 is PictBridge compatible, which lets you print directly on a compatible digital printer. Print size, layout, date, and other settings can be made with the camera. The camera is powered by either two AA alkaline or two rechargeable nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) batteries. Alkaline batteries let you take about 175 photos and nickel-metal hydride batteries allow up to 390 photos. When you don't have an SD memory card on hand, the camera's built-in memory holds up to 14 megabytes of image data, which you can later upload to an SD card or PC. You can also download images from a memory card or PC to the built-in memory, and view them on the LCD anytime you like.
What's in the Box
Lumix DMC-LZ3 digital camera, two oxyride AA batteries, and software CD-ROM.

Save Your Money.......2007-11-13
I purchased one last year and thought it was great, then this past May 2007, I purchased 2 more. One broke just outside of the 90 day labor warranty and Panasonic wants $95 flat fee to fix it, of course that doesn't include parts since that is still under warranty. The original one, which is now about 18 months old will only take indoor pictures. For some reason, as soon as you try to take an outside one, the camera goes black. The indoor pictures have lines all throughout the picutes. This one is out of warranty all together. The only one left is one of the two purchased in May. If I were able to get a refund I would. The picture quality on this camera is getting terrible. No matter what setting I have it on, they pictures look great on the computer, but if I get them printed out, or I print them out, they are grainy. Do not waste your money on this camera!!! I would never buy a Pansonic again!
Great Compact Camera.......2007-09-24
Took this gem to London/Paris this past april...it lasted two weeks on the battery which despite the bad rap on battery usage I found this to be great. I got wonderful photos and am very pleased with the camera. The controls are easy to work and this camera does do short videos also, which was an added benefit.
I am jealous!.......2007-06-15
My daughter got this camera for her 9th birthday and may I just say I am pea green with envy! It takes the most clear, color rich pictures I have seen! She is currently taking photography classes and is entered in 4H as well. It is easy enough for her to use, yet the pictures have the clarity that it makes you wonder if it is not a professional camera. My parents picked this up a few months back at Office Depot and for 1 day only it was less than $90! Wish I would have gotten one for myself!
LZ3, AN ALMOST AWSOME LITTLE CAMERA.......2007-06-01
The Panasonic DMC-LZ3, my first digital camera, is a complete photo lab in small box. Photos can be cropped, subjects centered, file resized and I don't know what else (keep the operating instructions handy). Your pictures can be shown immediately on a TV with the video plug-in cable. It can be hard to get a good view on the screen in glary light; I've wished for the old eye viewer. I've even just held the camera up and had to guess that what I wanted was on the screen and usually came out OK.
BUT;
After 9 months of carefull use, and toted in a padded case, in one series of shooting I noticed that the lens cover was not closing when I turned the camera off but the lens would still come out and take pictures when turned back on. Fiddling with the cover got it to close but then it wouldn't open when turned on and of oourse could take no pictures that way. It went on to where the lens would not even stay out. A call for help got me through a check list and reset effort to no avail and then authorization to send the camera in for warantee repair. The camera was back in 2 weeks working like a charm. How long will it last now?
Love this camera!!.......2007-05-19
Bought this camera about a year ago and have been happy ever since! Takes very clear pictures and great little videos. Only complaint is the cheesy little attached lens cover...it's sort of funny to have the little plastic cover on such a nice camera. Other than the cover we love it!!

very capable camera.......2007-06-13
I mainly chose to buy this camera for the 6x optical zoom- I do a lot of hiking in Yosemite and near my home in the French alps and wanted to take close-up pictures of the beautiful scenery. The camera has proved to be a great investment.
This camera is much better than any other camera I've used in the price range. The image stabilization works well, and it captures great pictures of my active kids. It has many features I haven't learned to use- they may be useful, but the camera simply takes great photos on the basic settings, so it's a good choice for beginners who want a camera that works easily, but that also has more complicated options for better pictures as the user improves. The only trade-off is the size- the camera is a bit large and clunky compared to the sleek new cameras I've used, but it's really worth it if you can spare the space- there's a lot packed into the camera. I own this and the DMC-LZ5 silver version and they are both perfect for pictures and video- I highly recommend this camera!
EXCELLENT CAMERA, BUT DON'T BUY.......2007-04-29
look for the "Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ7K 7.2MP Digital Camera with 6x Image Stabilized Zoom (Black)", you can get it for less price and it is obviously better!
Excellent camera, terrible warranty.......2007-04-26
I bought this camera 10 months ago from Amazon. It was my 4th digital in seven years, and definitely my favorite one. The size is just perfect to carry around, and the 6X optical zoom with image stabilization is hard to beat. At the time, I struggled between this model and the Canon counterpart, but at the end, I was really happy with my decision. I actually stopped using my video camera, storing movies in my 4 2GB SD cards.
One week ago, the flash stopped working. I thought to myself "no problem, the one year warranty will cover it". Well, guess what, the warranty only covers parts, and the labor flat-fee from Panasonic is $170.00 USD. I can buy a new one on Amazon for $20.00 USD more! I wrote to Panasonic, but didn't get a satisfactory response from them.
I am switching now to the Canon Powershot A570 IS, which supports image stabilization, and 7 Megapixel pictures. Their warranty covers EVERYTHING for one whole year, so at least I feel safer buying their product. The price is a little bit higher than this model, but totally worth it.
Something to keep in mind if you are considering to buy this model.
WONDERFUL Camera!!!.......2007-03-25
This camera is GREAT! It does everything that I could ever want it to do. Its got all kinds of fun features so that I can take any kind of picture I want to take, but even if you go on a vacation and ask a complete stranger to take a picture for you, it has a simple mode so it becomes a point and click camera. The only kind of pictures that I have had any trouble taking were sport pictures at night, which of course would be difficult due to the lack of light and increased shutter speed. I just lightened them up once I was able to get them onto a computer. Great camera for a wonderful price! I absolutely LOVE it!!
Great Cam.......2007-03-11
This camera is great. Got it in the mail the other day and now cant stop taking photos. The photos are very clear, and the optical zoom is great. Way better then the previous Kodak we had.

Very happy with this purchase.......2007-10-11
I am vary happy with this camera. I have Pentax Option S which is smaller and Olympus 510 which is bigger, this small Panasonic camera makes me very happy. Auto-mode makes vivd sharp pictures, trees and green comes out outstanding.
I was looking for a small camera that fits in the pocket but not too small because I came to conclusion that superlslim cameras sacrifice their optics quality for lightweighness. This camera does nto compromise image quality. It fits into pocket or pouch, I have it with me anywhere.
This camera is fast. Shooting ans saving is fast. This is very important quality. They never show in spe spec the time it takes, on average, to focus and to save images, so it is difficult to judge before you buy, and slow cameras are so irritating. This camera is fast I like it very much.
Battery life is very very good. On two AA batteries, it can go for close to 2 weeks if I switch it on immediately before the shot and off immediately after the shot.
AA batteries are preferable to me than builtin lithum batteries because lithium batteries die sooner or later and to replace them is expensive, and I do not want to carry the charger with me.
The LCD screen if big and visible in any light.
Bottom line: Thanks Panasonic.
I'd prefer than Power button had 3 positions, Off, On-Shoot, On-View, that would be comfortable for me, but no camera has it anyway.
Canon Camera.......2007-05-29
This is a great camera for a great price! I'm happy with it.
Excellent camera, terrible warranty.......2007-04-26
I bought this camera 10 months ago from Amazon (the black version of it).
I can buy a new one on Amazon for less than that!
Just what I was looking for 1) simple to operate, 2) great looking images, 3) good value.......2007-02-20
I was looking for a good, inexpensive digital camera and found it in the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ5; I love it!
After extensive reading online, I bought one about 3 weeks (2/07). I read the manual to learn how to operate. The camera is really amazing. I have taken ~150 shots of all kinds, and still on second set of regular AA batteries with plenty of charge left. The DMC-LZ5 has several pre-set options for scenes like "night scene," "starry night," "snow," and "candle light" which look great when using a tripod. Everybody I show my inside, day, and night time images say how very sharp they look. The color is rich. I usually take more images than I need, then delete all but the very best composed. I find it friendly to operate this way: I slide the SD card out of the camera, and into my laptop's SD port. Using windows file manager, I copy images to the laptop's hard drive, backup to CD, and view... I put the SD card back into camera and delete all the images on the SD card. This process is quick to move large numbers of images using no cables. This is my second digital camera.
DMC-LZ5 has a "simple" mode that sets all the features automatically. Can you tell I am happy with my purchase? Thank goodness for all the online reviews, I almost bought wrong brand. This is 6MP, 6X optical zoom for less than $200, and it works great. I bought mine in black. Since I don't use apple, my only complaint is the "video mode" creates quicktime files; so I don't use it to capture video. Instead, I use my MiniDV video camera for video. But the "still" shots create .jpg format, which is perfect for my needs; my new hobby and my web-site development businesses.
great camera.......2007-02-09
this is a great camera. The only thing in noticed was a couple of my pictures that i took, and i took 12, were blurred. I thhought that the stablizer would have worked. Great Camera for price, takes pictures otherwise.
