Good product but not quite as advertised.......2007-09-28
These are pretty solid pieces for the price but as other reviewers have discussed, they are certainly not the satin quality you may be led to believe. But most importantly, Amazon has the wrong product number on one of their links. Be sure to check the model number...WC-17.5 are actually the 17 1/2 inch versions, not the 23 inches listed on the dimensions. Amazon has both - just make sure you check the model number and order the ones you want.

Easy to put together, took me less than 10 min, excellent price, great finish, stylish, I use it with my old bookshelf speakers,matches my black TV stand perfectly.Got it with no damage and on time.Perfect hight.Has speaker cable guide for concealment.

These are "OK" stands, but not as advertised. These are in no way "Black Satin". Also, this model is WC-17.5...well, it would seem obvious that they are in fact 17.5 inches tall, NOT 23 inches as in the description.
don't like the finish.......2007-08-08
These are not what I thought I was getting. I expected the "black satin" finish to be that low gloss black wood grain type finish commonly seen on bookshelf type speakers. Instead, it's a rough black powder coat finish directly on MDF particle board. It looks like countertop formica instead of wood. As a woodworker, I have always understood a "satin" finish to mean a smooth finished surface with a subtle luster (as opposed to a glossy polyurethane finish). It seems pretty misleading to advertise these as "black satin wood" speaker stands. There is nothing "woodlike" about them.

These are easy to assemble with just a phillips head screw-driver in about 10 minutes max. They are durable, they look nice and they are sturdy. I other words - as advertised. Highly recommended.

Simplicity is the name of the game........2007-12-14
I bought the Logitech Z-5500 speakers, but I didn't want to screw them into the wall. The problem with these speakers is that they don't fit (screw) into the 'standard' speaker stands.
The solution: The Gallery Noir Wood/Glass Speaker Stand. I have them set up on either side of my couch. The design is simple, but elegant. The top shelves are sturdy and have more than enough strength to hold any small speaker set out there. The middle selves are supposed to be used for storing DVD's, CD's or Games. It works fine, so long as they are ALWAYS filled with cases. If 1 case is pulled out, the rest sort of fall onto each other, so I would recommend getting a 'real' media storage center. What I used the shelves for was items I wanted on display. A mini bust, a trinket or just put a coaster down and use it as handy, accessible and not in your way place to hold your drink. Great for those without a coffee table, like me.
The assembly was easy and took about 3 minutes. The packaging seems small but protects your item well.
I just bought another set of speakers for the bedroom and will be buying another pair of these speaker stands to hold them. Definitely recommended for those who want a nice, simple and sturdy item. Something that wont be easily knocked down by mischievous cats.

I don't have all that much experience putting things together, so I was a little worried because of one reviewer's comments about the instructions being hard to understand. On the whole, I found that they were fairly simple to put together, and the diagrams were very helpful.
There's unfortunately no way to thread cables through any part of these stands, so if you're looking to keep your cabling invisible, these might not be the stands for you. I'm using them for my rear speakers, and they're pretty small (small enough that I would be able to fit one on the top shelf and another on the bottom), so I don't have any problems with instability, though I think it might be an issue for people with larger, heavier speakers on carpet.
Poorly Made Product.......2007-04-11
This product was totally disappointing. The directions were difficult to follow, there were only poorly draw diagrams to describe the construction. The product is very flimsy and unstable. I will not use it for the purpose of placing my Paradigm speakers, nor would I purchase this product again or any other product of this type. I have been completely unsatisfied with this product. Finally, during assembly of this product I somehow managed to chip the frosted glass shelves because the rods for the stand came in a somewhat bent manner from the package

These stands were easy to put together and look very nice. They blend in with the TV and other AV components, so they would go nicely with any decor. They also had a pretty reasonable price. I would definitely recommend them.

stands are garbage.......2007-05-07
These stands were misdrilled (to shallow to assemble correctly) and could not be assembled as ahipped. After I redrilled them I got them together but they broke on first use when they were bumped slightly.

Beware the lack of specifications........2006-02-01
These are much smaller then I thought. The base the speaker sits on is only 4 inches sq. They are pretty woobly on the carpet in my studio. I won't be able to use these though, because I needed stands for mid. sized monitors, these are designed for miniture sized speakers with not much more then a 4-5 in. base. They would cost about $4 to build and are made from less then a quarter of a sheet of medium density fiberboard.

These stands are excellent for the small bookshelf speaker for many reasons. 1)The design is simplistic and minimalistic, therefore accentuating the speaker rather than the stand. 2)They are low cost for those of us who are short on cash. 3)Although simplistic and minimalistic (point 1) they're still cool. 4)The multiple bracketing option allows a fit on just about all satellites, a great feature.
