Customer Reviews:
It will work, after some tweaking!.......2007-12-27
I, like many other reviewers, could not get this to work on my Windows XP machine. However, the instructions on the Coby USA website finally allowed me to use this keychain--not sure why these instructions were not included with the product. First step is to use the included CD to install the software. Then, you connect your keychain to your computer using the included cable. When the keychain turns on, select "USB Update." Voila! The computer recognizes the keychain as a flash drive (which is what it is, of course). Finally, you run the photo viewer software, which allows you to choose pictures from your computer's hard drive and transfer them to the keychain.
The quality of the photos on the keychain are not super fantastic, but they are better than I would have expected for a $20, 1.5" display. You will want to choose pictures that have fairly close up faces in them (assuming you're using it for pictures of people)--if the face is small on the photo, it's going to be totally indistinguishable on the keychain.
Coby DP-151 1.5 Inch Digital Photo Keychain.......2007-12-27
This was one of the most difficult pieces of electronics to work with. It took hours to load photos because of poor instructions and poor cables. The directions on how to use the product were not clear, and when trying to call customer service for help, no one answered after 30-45 minutes. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
GREAT PICTURES, EASY TO USE.......2007-12-26
After reading the reviews I was not sure but decided to go for it. Got this for my husband for Christmas. It is easy to upload the pictures and the IMAGE QUALITY IS VERY GOOD. I was pleasantly surprised at how great the images are and 60 photo's - WOW - my husband loves it - all the pics of his family in one little key chain. TIP: to install the software on Window's Vista, use the instructions on Page 11 rather than Page 6 - it is important that you do not have the keychain plugged into the computer when you inStall, after installing, plug it in and then select USB UPdate from the keychain itself to begin the process. Took me awhile to figure this out because the instructions on pg 6 are not as clear. I am going to get one for each set of grandparents and upload the pics for them. Very happy.
Coby DP-151 1.5 Inch Digital Photo Key Chain.......2007-12-26
The keychain works great. It was easy to load. My daughter has added many of her favorite photos to share. She loved it as a stocking stuffer.
I found a solution to the software problem..........2007-12-26
I got one of these for Christmas and after installing the software, had the same problem other people did (I would try to run software to load pictures to keychain, but I got an error message). I found a solution online right after I emailed tech support, and they had the same solution:
1. Install software.
2. Reboot. Do not try turning on software yet.
3. Connect key chain to computer via USB.
4. Turn keychain on; set to "USB Update" by pressing the right button and then the middle button.
5. NOW try starting software.
This solved the problem for me. Tech support answered me within 12 hours, so that was nice.
Once I solved the problem, I like the keychain. The picture is small and the color and cropping are a little funky, but for the price, it isn't bad at all.

Great Deal.......2007-12-27
Great product for price. Had some difficulty downloading to device initially, but discovered that under MY COMPUTER it was necessary to open by right clicking and selecting OPEN AS PORTABLE DEVICE. Have not fully figured out how to us picture feature yet. Software take some effort to understand. Not as quick and easy as IPOD, but for price it is acceptable. Radio works great. Great buy.
very pleased.......2007-12-26
I bought this MP3 player for my 11 yr old son for Christmas. It is very easy to use and my son already has the hang of it (1 day). The sound is fantastic on the hearphones included. We had one problem at first. I dont know what happened but it turned on and worked for a few minutes and then went off. I tryed everything, even trying to charge it thinking the batt died. Apparently, it needed to be reset by holding down the on/off button for 15 seconds. After that, it worked great. I almost sent it back! Also, we have downloaded music from our computer as well as the internet and it was very easy. I would have given this unit 5 stars but it is worth noting that it is harder to find a charging dock and speaker set for this unit then it is an Ipod. I found one but the choices are very limited. Ipod has a million choices. That is the only con so far we have found.
Not very user friendly.......2007-12-26
I wanted an MP3 player that was easy to use as I am lacking some of the sophicated skills required for some of the newer electronic gadgets. This Sandisk MP3 player did not want to help me connect and navigate my Vista system. I called the company and they were useless and the suggestions offered did not answer my questions. A subsequent e-mail only sent me to a discussion group that didn't even address my concern about compatability between the MP3 player and Vista. Nowhere in the instructions were there any references to Vista. I ended up sending the player to my grandson for Christmas and with his Windows XP he was able
to use it. I can't be the only user out there with a Vista system and this player. Hopefully the company will address this problem and be able to offer valid responses and or "fixes" to the questions of their customer's that recieved this product for Christmas.
Fantastic MP3 player.......2007-12-26
Bought this for myself a year or more ago, and I LOVE it. I liked it so much that I got one for my 17 year old son for Christmas this year. It does music, photos, videos, voice recordings and plays the radio. Quality is great. Easy to use. Sound and visuals are superb. One complaint is the goofy ear buds, but they all use those these days. My son uses his player with regular over the ear headphones, and they work great, too. I chose this model over the Ipod, and I'm glad I did. The versatility on this one and value for the price are great. This is compatible with all music software - we use winamp, but it also works with windows media player, etc. I wasn't crazy about Rhapsody - the software that came with the player - the quality of the downloads wasn't always there. We've had great luck with winamp, though. We are able to click and drag to load songs in seconds. We wanted the ability to load music from several sources and not be stuck with one software (itunes - used by the Ipod). We are totally happy with this player.
sandisk makes an ipod alternitive.......2007-12-26
I bought this sansa e260 so I could record local radio tranmission of convention and assembly programs. It does this very well. It has 4gb of storage so an entire 3day convention fits if your careful. I stopped it after each part so it would make a seperate file for each. A couple of things I noticed that are not as positive, one the controls are kinda tricky to use, two you have to be careful not to leave it turned on. I kept finding its battery dead. Since I realized I was leaving it on now the battery life is fine. This is a very good alt to an Ipod. (I have both)

needs to be 'plug n play'.......2007-12-24
I purchased this for my mom, who is not very tech savvy. I tested it out before I gave it to her and when I plugged in the SD card, it didn't automatically start playing the pictures. I had to go through a couple screens and select the folder (even though there wasn't a folder on the SD card) that the pictures were in before it would start playing them. Seems to me that it would be smart of them to make the software recognize .jpg files so it would play automatically. I don't know too many grandmas and grandpas who would be comfortable going through what I had to go through to get this thing to work.
Don't buy for someone who lacks tech savvy.......2007-12-24
The instructions are unclear and the user interface very clunky. Do not buy for an older person (or a younger person, for that matter) who is unfamiliar with how to operate nonintuitive devices from manuals translated from another language. It might be OK if you set it up for the person and give it to him or her. I am not familiar with digital photo frames in general, but the screen does seem awfully dark. I presume I could make all the photos lighter, but it gets back to the question, how much trouble do you want to put someone to?
Nice.......2007-12-24
The frame itself is nice, the features it holds. The only issues that I have with it is the fact that you can't plug it into the computer via USB to add pictures onto the frame. Also it would be nice to have the option of auto play in the menu for when you turn on the frame. You just turn it on, then you have to hit play in order for it to play. Overall the frame is nice, have not gotten around to messing with the video or audio features.
Poor image quality.......2007-12-22
Initially I liked the price-point on this digital frame. After getting it for a gift for my mom, loading an SD card with images, and then struggling through the non-intuitive UI on the frame, I finally got it to display a slideshow of the photos... and what I saw was an inferior quality! The photos are pixelated, and the resolution of the screen looks like a dot-matrix print-out.
I should return the product, but it's for a Christmas gift, and it's too late. My advice: skip this one -- the field is too crowded to accept the inferiority of this product.
Awful frame...don't bother.......2007-12-22
This is a horrible frame. I bought the Coby DP-772 for my self about a year ago and have been very happy with it. I decided to buy this new version for my dad as a birthday gift. Wow what a difference...all the pictures are dark and skin tones are blotchey. I took the same SD card out of it and put it in my frame and they show up fine. I returned it within hours of opening the package. Unfortunately the 772 is not available on Amazon so I'll either switch to a Philips or look for it elsewhere.

This is Fantastic!!.......2007-12-27
I got this for my husband for christmas and really just have to get one for myself now. It is so intuitive and functional, we didn't read any instructions but just started playing around with it and it works great. The text to speech function is a must have, I haven't hooked up the traffic function yet, that will be next. My husband drives great distances so I thought this would be very helpful for him, I usually remain fairly local, staying within our own county. But I had it in my bag to play around and figure out how to work it and it came in handy for me on day one: it was after 5 pm but I needed to get a business letter sent for delivery the next day, I started in my car from my work to go to a fedex location I know of via a highway, heard on the radio that traffic was terrible but the only other way I knew was really out of the way and much much longer and I didn't know what time the place closed. I didn't know the address, I just knew it was somewhere along a certain street. Pulled out the GPS, used my finger to drag the map to where the street was, zoomed in to around where I needed to be and set that area as the "where to?" It was dark and raining pretty hard so it would have been hard to follow written directions but good old Garmin took me through some back roads I didn't even know about with ease and I got to the place in good time and got the letter out. Just marvelous, we are going away this weekend and can hardly wait to use it and test the traffic feature. This was not cheap but its well worth it to have something that works so great, you'll use it every day even if you think you don't really need it.
4th Garmin Product.......2007-12-27
This is my 4th Garmin product. My first was a Garmin V, though it did a good job I found it slow to recalculate, the next ones were garmin 2610 and 2730, great products. I also have a Garmin c330 I use at work. This new Nuvi 660 has a ton of features, all of which work quite well. It would be nice to have the ability to avoid roads by tapping on written routes and a more powerful fm modulator. Other then that the unit is great. I got a great price from Amazon, quick delivery. Overall a great product for moving from car to car.
Garmin 660.......2007-12-27
Amazon had the best price anywhere. The product arrived as expected. Very satisfied with all the features.
Impressed but yet disappointed........2007-12-27
I am impressed with the abilities of the Garmin nuvi 660 am extremely disappointed that the device is not compatible is with my iMac computer. This fact should have been easily available before I made the purchase.
Nuvi 660 Rocks!.......2007-12-26
I purchased the 660 over the Thanksgiving holidays when prices were nearly 50% off; Amazon did an outstanding job with timely shipping. Here are some quick notes for your consideration:
- The portability is impressive; slip it into the carrying case and then into a back pocket of your jeans; likewise, it would also fit elegantly into a ladies purse--don't make the mistake of leaving the 660 in the center console while away from the car--potential thieves can see suction cup marks and figure most of us are lazy enough to leave the unit in the car.
- The 660 package has everything you need accessory-wise, including USB connection to your computer, 110V connection for recharge, cigarette lighter adapter for the vehicle and a carrying case--you don't need to buy the carrying case when prompted by Amazon as you check out. I fell for the prompt and now have an extra carrying case :(
- My family immediately had the opportunity to give the 660 a shake-down in the Orlando area during a one-week vacation. Again, it performed superbly, with a few exceptions:
- On 3 occasions, the 660 steered us to addresses (Publix Supermarket, Hard Rock Cafe, & a Sprint dealership) that were non-existent. Lesson learned: Verify by phone before you travel to your destination first!
- The recalcuate route function works well when you deviate from highlighted route, although the female voice sounds pissed when she says "recalculating" :)
- The Bluetooth function works well. People I called from the vehicle reported poor sound quality from the microphone built into the 660. What was really cool is that the unit links with your phone's address book--the voice-activated dial unit works very well also.
- The function that allows you to route instructions into the vehicle's FM radio was marginal--lots of static and low volume. The internal volume is sufficient.
- The subscription service for traffic reporting worked to perfection--as we were returning to our hotel, the yellow diamond indicating a delay popped up. Using the re-route option, we took the detour that was recommended and ended up at our destination quickly.
- Although the service is supposedly in use for the Washington DC area, I've not seen a single alert in a month and don't plan on subscribing when the trial period expires.
BOTTOM LINE: I'm very happy with the Nuvi 660, would buy it again, and would highly recommend purchase to my friends, relatives, and acquaintances!

This is a nice 4 GB drive, especially for the price. It comes clean, no preloaded crapware. It seems very sturdy and the purple and white color scheme is quite appealing. I dinged by one star because the cap is not attached to the drive. It will attach to the back when you have it plugged in (but not well if you attach the included string to the lanyard), but this is still a recipe for losing the cap eventually. That might just be me, though--if that doesn't bother you, this is the drive to buy.
Won't work with Windows 98.......2007-12-27
I bought this item because the reviews indicated it would work with pretty much any computer program. I tried to install it, and it is not on my computer anywhere. When I went to the Kingston web site to see if I could get some help, it states right on their site that it is not supported for Windows 98....Windows 2000 or newer are the only programs it will work with. It may be a great device, but I can't access it on my computer to find out.
Extremely Pleased.......2007-12-27
I use a lot of large files for work and this little drive does it without any problems. It's fast, dependable - more so than my Sandisk - and is probably the best pen drive I've ever used. Works fine on XP and Vista.
not sure about it.......2007-12-25
the cap does not lock properly it might get lost very easy....however it works as expected
Disappointing ergonomic design kills it.......2007-12-24
The Kingston DataTraveler family of drives should be a great product. The pricing is excellent compared to the storage capacity, and they work very well in regards to compatibility with PCs and USB ports.
Where the Kingston drives fail miserably is in their user ergonomics. First up is the cap. The cap is on tight - real tight - and that is good, since it helps prevent it from getting lost. However, the shape of the cap - tapering in the same direction you'll need to pull it - combined with the tightness, and therefore the effort needed to remove it, makes it very difficult to grip long enough to get it off. Kingston could have overcome this easily by including some grooves, ribs, or some flares or depressions to enhance your grip, but inexplicably they didn't.
The fatal flaw for me is the keychain loop on the rear of the drive. For me, the USB drive is all about mobility. I like to be able to carry 4GB of data around with me; it's fantastically handy to port that much storage. But, and this is a big "but", you MUST be able to make sure the data stays with you. Who wants to lose their data? No one does that I know of. And this is where the drive lets you down. The loop for hanging it on a keychain is far too weak to hold up to even light duty use. Mine broke within 6 days of use, and it was shocking how little effort it took for the loop to break. A very gentle tug of my keys from a backpack pocket, an act that my Lexar Media 1 GB JumpDrive Sport USB Flash ( JDSP1GB-231 ) (Retail Package)has endured for nearly 2 years without complaint, and yet the Kingston snapped its loop completely off. To further add insult, it now has 2 very sharp barbs where the loops were, requiring me to perform some surgery on the drive just to make sure it doesn't pose a danger to fingers.
I'm headed back to the Lexar JumpDrive Sport family, which I appreciate even more than I did now that I've seen the failings of the competition.

Great HD.......2007-12-27
Very portable, very reliable, lightning quick, and lots of storage right in your pocket. Price is great, so light weight and non space consuming. No power source required so less clutter. Very fast (with my OS X 10.5 Leopard anyway) Backed up all my data and use it for my time machine back ups. Flawless.
Compact, neat hard disk.......2007-12-26
It's compact, it's cute, looks very nice. But actual HD size only about 112, which is a let down. When they advertise 120, they should provide 120 GB. Sometime you plan for 120 GB and if it is less, it can be a bad let down. Delivery was efficient, and both pc and laptop detected the hard drive without any problems. I have had it for only a week, haven't used it extensively, no complaints so far. Hope they send me the link again after about 2-3 months so I can give some real feedback about it then!
Get what you pay for.......2007-12-25
Great size and weight, it's almost perfect to move a lot of personal or work info depending on your field of work of course, many may need more space, but this is good enough for the standard user. A carry on bag or sleeve may be necessary as an additional must have for this small gadget.
Compact and Good.......2007-12-25
It is very compact. And works well on my macbook with Leopard. I highly recommend it.
Not as reliable as I'd like.......2007-12-23
My girlfriend got this drive a few months ago. She plugged it into her MacBook, copied some movies to it, and then properly disconnected it (she had no power supply issues, btw). Then, some weeks later, I hooked it up again, and noticed that transfer speeds were really low, which I attributed to the fact that it was still formatted as FAT32. The drive then sat unused (and disconnected) for another couple of weeks, at which point the next time I connected it made the dreaded "dead drive" clicking noise. Sticking it in the fridge did not revive it, but letting it sit for a few days afterwards did allow us to move a few gigs off it, which was fortunately the only irreplaceable data on the drive.
WD provided a free refurbished replacement for it under warranty, though we had to pay for the shipping of the original drive back. The replacement drive's transfer rates are actually fast, and I formatted it immediately to Mac OS Extended. So far there haven't been any problems with it, and it's being used solely for Time Machine backups, so we'll see.
But bottom line is that the original unit failed within ~2 months with minimal use, and you're stuck with paying for sending the dead drive back. Another thing worth noting for Mac users: FireWire will generally be faster, especially for the transfer of large files, and has the added benefit of allowing you to boot off the drive. Just something to keep in mind in general...

Pretty darn good for $5 headphones.......2007-12-26
This product is a steal. I'm no audiophile, but it sounds quite decent to me. I've been using it almost everyday for about a month now and it still hasn't died on me. I was worried that it wouldn't have the noice-reducing capabilities of my old j-buds, but they do, so i'm a very happy customer. Why not 5 stars? They don't come in black and it makes me worry that they'll randomly die on me any day now.
Worth the Price.......2007-12-24
While not the best in-ear headphones, the price of these certainly makes them better than almost anything else on the market. Not as comfortable as the apple version, but at 1/4 the price the difference is negligable. They do turn up the bass when used with an ipod, but using the "bass reducer" equalizer setting seemed to fix any problems. All in all, a good buy.
Very good for the price.......2007-12-21
I've used lots of earphones and these are superb. Great sound quality and very comfortable, I sometimes forget I even have earphones on. Only problem is that it takes little work to get the earphone to stay in my ear because I have big ears, but once it's in it's smooth sailing. Watch out for the silicone tips though, I accidentally stepped on the earphone and it fell off, it was pretty easy to put it back in though but nonetheless be careful.
stereo headphones.......2007-12-21
Nothing special about these headphones. When properly placed in the ears they do cut out external sound to a degree. Decent sound for the price.
Good quality.......2007-12-18
Great quality for the price. However if you plan to walk or run with your earphones never purchase this item. At least in my case they fall off a few times a minute while walking. I ended up taking off the plastic seal and then put them in my ear. Then it worked ok.
