Sturdy stands.......2007-09-12
The stands are really nice and well designed. I have speakers on them that weigh about 40 pounds each and they do not move at all.
There are carpet studs provided if you choose to attach to the base of the stands to keep them from moving on the rug, however some people have hardwood floors and they should supply in the kit some rubber grips to use on hard flooring.
In addition, there is a speaker wire channel in the rear of the stand. Its a very nice feature, however I cannot use it since my speaker cables are heavy gauge and I use terminal connectors that get in the way for a clean look.
Overall the quality is very good and looks to be solid oak. No fiber board at all...

Speaker stand for Center Channel.......2007-06-13
I was looking for something to raise my center channel speaker off the floor (it won't fit on top of the TV) and these stands were perfect. It comes in a set of two, designed to get larger speakers off the floor, but one works fine for my one Center channel, and I've now got a spare stand. :-) For the price I found nothing that could come close. Only thing I'd improve is to add a way to pivot/tilt the upper platform of the stand to get the speaker angled towards the listner.

These easily assembeled speaker stands are both sturdy and beautiful. For the sub-$60 price these real hardwood stands are sure bets, I certainly have not regretted my purchase. After scouring the net I found that Amazon had the best competitive price on these (for a reliable site), and doubly so once I purchased them on my Amazon card, after which the total came to a mere $28.99.
