this is a very nice product for the price, fits great in my home, easy to put together and seems pretty sturdy

Shelves too shallow!.......2007-10-10

I bought this shelf in-store at a Target and based on the pictures, it looked like it would fit my equipment. The shelves on this thing are very shallow, and my cable box (Comcast dual-tuner DVR) and receiver (Onkyo 7.1 channel unit) hang way off the front of the shelves. It is a reasonably sturdy unit, but I definitely cannot recommend it for anything other than small, lightweight components.

Good looking and functional. BUT.......2007-08-01

After I received the package and unpacked it I noticed a crack across the main back panel. The crack was right across the middle of the panel and should have been detected at the factory. The glass shelves were not damaged so it's my belief the defective panel was shipped that way and not damaged en route. I couln't imagine the trouble and mess involved in disposing of or returning this case so I assembled it and will avoid twisting it in fear of enlarging the cracked panel any further. Obviously poor quality control and this will be my last Audio Pier product purchase.

As pictured, great product for the price........2007-03-30

Assembled product. Pretty sturdy. I have a Monster AVS 2000, 5100 MKII, Onkyo TX-SR600, Samsung DVR, Panasonic DVD player, and Kenwood EQ. With all this equipment, it is pretty sturdy. Price is cheaper than most audio racks, but there is a reason. Scratches easy so be careful when assembling. What do you expect for $70? All in all I am pretty satisfied. Picture shown on Amazon is what I recieved and assembled. I don't know what the other rater meant by his/her comment regarding deception.

not for your cosy home just for Office Furniture-massive,reliable,fair price.......2006-09-08

I found Audio Pier on Amazon,but the ricture was deceptive.
I went to nearest Target store and still Audio Piers were
in a boxes with deceptive picture,no display of original.
I've risked to buy it with huge disappointment,It appears
in real black,massive,ugly four shelves Pier.This Pier is
not for my cosy home.
I categorize this Audio Pier just as Office Furniture,
very reliable and fair price.

Great component rack.......2007-10-31

Overall, this is a great component audio/video rack. And it is larger than you think! I stand six-four, and this rack comes up to my chest and is taller than my television. It's very big, but it is well-designed and strong. It feels very solid. TARGET delivered the product (via UPS) in 9 days, which I think is pretty good. Assembly took me 90 minutes by myself and the instructions were fairly easy to follow if you pay attention to the pictures in the assembly manual. I gave this product four stars because one screw was missing from the pieces, and one pressboard section didn't quite fit nicely together (but you can make it work if you're industrious and clever). Also, some of the pressboard pieces are easy to chip - I did, my fault. Altogether, I am very pleased with this purchase, and the audio pier looks fantastic in my living room. The finish looks great, and the four corner pieces are solid wood. The base board (above the drawer) is also solid wood, and you should rest your heaviest component here (such as your receiver). The drawer has nice hardware, and works smoothly. The drawer seems slightly lightweight, though, but is adequate as long as your not dumping a lot of heavy items in there. The frosted glass looks extremely nice. Definitely worth the money!!!
