Do NOT buy- poor product.......2007-12-15
Poor craftmanship and poor Powell service:
First package received in a timely manner, HOWEVER, the left door was munched and wood on the base was poorly fit and cracking, and there was NO hardware.
After two shipments we got a full set. However, one of the four binding pieces had the holes drilled in the WRONG spot; measurement off by 2 cm, which is enough to make it not functional-the screw will not fit into the pre-drilled hole. RRR!! I am really wishing we hadn't purchased this piece and if you are wise you will NOT buy it.

This cabinet is very well built. Beware, if you don't have mechanical skills, "some assembly required" means that you will have to get someone to help you assemble this unit. The instructions are clear and they give you extra hardware.

This is a very nice cabinet. the oak finish is first rate and matches my decor.
Expect a lot of assembly. I spent the most part of a afternoon assembling this unit. Actually you need 2 people for some of the steps involved. This is a heavy piece of furniture

good product, poor customer service.......2007-11-21
The unit itself is nice; despite being merely oak veneer, it blends well enough with my Stickley pieces. It's also very sturdy. However, it came in a gazillion pieces and without instructions. Fortunately, I have years of experience putting together IKEA furniture and managed to assemble it in about an hour--with only one "mystery piece" left over. I emailed the seller asking for instructions, but never got a response. Purchase only if you're used to putting furniture together or never bother reading directions anyway.

A great piece of furniture.......2007-09-20
I was very wary about ordering furniture over the internet. You really cannot get an idea of the quality of the finish from just a couple of pics. I had bought some furniture several years ago from Sears that you had to put together, and it did not look like wood. It looked like wood covered with contact paper.
.............Not so with this entertainment center. It is a great piece of furniture. The wood veneers are very nice, and it arrived in perfect condition. I had to do a lot less assembling than I was prepared for. The front and both sides of the unit are already joined. You just put in the shelf, two bars of wood across the back, slide the back on, and put on the top. It is fairly simple to put together, but this is a very heavy piece- so it definitely takes more than one person. The fit and finish were great - doors and hardware were all aligned nicely.
IRL the unit is a little less of a brown than the pic, and leans more towards a reddish mahogany, or rosewood coloring. I wanted this unit because I had bought a 40" flatscreen TV, and could not find a compact unit that was wide enough for the TV. This one is perfect. The description say that it is 41" inside, but that is the measurement inside the "frame" that the doors are hinged to. The inside of the unit is actually 43", so if you slide your flatscreen in on a diagonal, you can fit a TV between 41" and 43".
I ordered this unit online on Sept. 9th, and was contacted for delivery on the 17th. Quicker than the website states. Do be prepared though, the delivery is only to your door, or garage - the delivery person will not bring this unit inside for you. It is too bulky and heavy for one person to handle, so make sure you have help to get the big box in.

Not for a first-timer.......2007-09-01
The unit arrived on time but with box open due to the frugal use of cheap packaging tape. The thing weighed 115 lbs and there was only a single strip along each of the long seams. Only FedEx's careful handling prevented a disaster. The piece of furniture is solid and good looking but I wouldn't suggest it as a first project. Instructions were clear, but cam lock hardware was of poor quality and if you have never hung cabinetry doors before get some expert help. That's the bad stuff. On the positive side this item is beautiful (nicer looking than the picture) and will engineered (hard to justify cheap cam locks on a piece this nice). Well worth the price, but pray to the FedEx Gods for a safe delivery.
