Cheap materials, high price.......2004-08-23
I am extraordinarily disappointed with this item -- while it seems relatively sturdy and functional, the materials are remarkably cheap (and cheap-looking) for the price. The veneer over the pressboard seems like a thin film of plastic, and it frays around the holes drilled for the screws; the tops of the side gables extend over the top of the cart, which looks really bad, and the cheesy plastic caps for the screwheads don't match the veneer and contribute to the generally cheap look and feel of the piece. This is my first purchase in all my years of using Amazon about which I feel truly mislead about the nature of the product. I doubt I will use the furniture store again.
