V-Moda earbuds.......2007-12-26
These earbuds have excellent sound, but the cord gets tangled so badly that it make the item almost not worth purchasing.
Best ear buds - perhaps.......2007-12-26
I've had many brands of earbuds up to $50 - these are the best. The bass is very strong but clean. Got 2 pair now and if I need another set I'll buy another pair of these.
Hello Bass, Please return my music.......2007-12-26
These produced so much bass with my I pod that I could barely hear the music, just the pounding. I like bass, but unless that's all you want to hear, then these are not for you. There were a comfortable fit, but the cord tangles easily.
great buy.......2007-12-25
these headphones are excellent, the sound quality is as good as the headphones 4 times the price. bass is awesome, and the silicone buds actually fit comfortably and block out most background noise. for 30 bucks this is a steal, no point buying the metal ones unless u really want something shiny
Huge improvement over apples earbud.......2007-12-22
These earbuds defiantly hold up to title description and are better then the same price you would pay for apples version. I have a ipod and i also paid a lot of money for apples version of earbuds, while they were significantly louder the thin silicon ear cups were disappointing in holding themselves inside my ear as i worked out. Even more so they were too fragile when the cord got disconnected and i was left with just one working ear bud. I buy these V-MODA and not only does the black color match my black ipod but they were cheaper and work better. The silicon cups are thicker then apples and hold way better, i switched from the small to medium size and hardly move; also due to the thickness it locks out outside noise better. The sound itself is very sharp and the bass itself kicks in on certain songs with a decent beat, i highly recommend you buy these earbuds especially at the price they are being offered. Lastly these earbuds come with a small plastic cord tab to wrap up the excess cord so it doesn't swing wildly around and get caught on corners, very helpful as well at the gym

the Zen V Plus holds up to 2,000 songs, and the 1.5-inch OLED screen displays rich and vibrant photos, full-color menus, and album art at any viewing angle. Another great feature built right into the Zen V Plus is the tiny device's ability to support subscription services and pay-per-download music. Plus, you'll never sweat formats--the Zen V Plus plays the broadest selection of MP3 and WMA music. And browsing your music collection has never been easier with Creative's innovative interface that enables effective and intuitive navigation and track selection. The Plus has an extra feature that it's predecessor lacked: the ability to play short video clips. You no longer need to burn CDs to your PC then download to your MP3 player. Just connect an audio device directly to your Zen V Plus, and record your favorite CDs, records, beats and more, direct from the source. Meanwhile, automatic track detection separates each song for you--a handy feature when you're converting analog (records and cassette tapes) to digital. If organization is a high priority, the Zen V Plus's Personal Organizer will help you stay connected and in-sync with your Microsoft Outlook information. Just connect the Zen V Plus to your PC, sync your Outlook information, and you'll be ready to carry around your contacts, calendar, and to-do lists right in your pocket. Plus, the Zen V Plus uses a handy built-in microphone to double as a voice recorder, so you can capture notes, record lectures, and more.

Creative Zen.......2007-12-26
Great mp3 player. It's easy to download music to and use.
I purchased this Zen for my daughter after using my own for
a year and a half. It's durable and holds a charge for many
hours. I would recommend this Creative 4gb Zen to others.
Changed My Life.......2007-12-18
I've owned my Zen for 7 months now and use it everyday. I have it about half full - some music - a couple of audiobooks at a time - some photos. It has only frozen on me 3 times in all those months. I love the little size, the no scratch case and the ease of the software included. What I don't like is that I can't reorganize my files once they are loaded. Once in a while I'll misplace a song and I can't find it. Also I broke off the on and off switch when my nail got caught on it while I was exercising. I still can get it on and off using a pen - but I never did like that switch. I like the "joystick" better than the ipod navigation pad. I bookmark my audiobooks but I can't get it to rewind if I need too. Still for the $$ that I paid, its just what the doctor ordered.
Tech Support Responded Quickly Even Pre-Purchase.......2007-12-18
I wanted the Zen V Plus to use for audiobooks, as it seemed the best-featured and best-reviewed of the players that have been tested and work well with NetLibrary (free books through many public libraries, including mine). (I also used reviews from Amazon's question section, where someone had asked about the best player to use with NetLibrary. This was by far the most common response in my price range, and the most common response in any range by a smaller margin.) But, a couple of the other reviews here worried me; I didn't want to buy a dud with poor tech support!
So, I visited Creative's site and asked their tech support directly to respond to this concern before I purchased. I sent my e-mail to them at about 7 pm, and by 2 am had a very friendly reply, including this paragraph:
"Please also note that when you purchase a Zen V Plus, you will get 60
days of free phone support and 1 year email support. Should you
encounter any issues with your player or have any questions on how to
use the features, you are free to email us and we will be more than
happy to assist you."
I also explored the extensive knowledge base on their website. I'm pretty comfortable with my computer, so someone else might not find an online tech support database like that as reassuring as I do, but looking around, I felt like I could probably find the solution to most common problems there without having to wait for tech support. Add that to the two months of telephone support and the quick turnaround to my inquiry e-mail--which I sent to tech support, directed to the folks who would respond if my player froze up (which was what I'd read here in a couple reviews), not to any sales department, etc.--and I'm going to put my money down.
If their tech support had any problems before, then those problems seem to be resolved now.
Just thought I'd share that experience in case anyone else had the same reservtions about quality and tech support that I did, based on other reviews here.
Zen V Plus - brilliant.......2007-12-15
ZEN V Plus 4GB Black/Blue
I've had the zen for 3 months now and am delighted with its performance, it exceeds what I expected. It does everything creative claim for it. I use it most days both around the home and out and about, sound quality is great. It hangs around your neck on the included lanyard and when you've made your selections it is small enough to tuck inside your shirt or in a top pocket so is unobtrusive.
The screen is a bit small for videos but having said that it plays them very well and its easy to convert them with the included software.
The included software works fine but after reading some other reviews I bought a copy of media-monkey which integrates perfectly with the Zen. So I would pass on that recommendation. You can download a trial version to try it before you commit.
One bonus I didn't expect is the line in. I've connected it to the headphone socket of my hifi and can digitise my vinyl collection without any special links to the computer. Works a treat, Brilliant!
Another bonus is the voice recorder. Press the record button on the side no matter what you're playing at the time, hold it like a microphone, speak your notes and then resume playback. Its so easy, would even make a reasonable interview tool in a non-pro environment say for a student.
With the proviso that a model with a larger screen would be better for video, I would recommend the V Plus. Suggest that if video is important to you, you try the new ZEN otherwise the V Plus is superb.
Great product with excellent support for anyone with half a brain.......2007-12-04
This little player is very nice, with an incredible array of features and functionality. The manual is not buried deep in the creative program folder,as mentioned in one review.Go to program files/Creative/Creative ZEN V Series (R2)/Manual.Create a shortcut on your desktop, for easier access,if you'd like. It's a very thorough manual, with very clear instructions. The Creative website also has further assistance, such as firmware, the latest of which is 1.32.01,which improves the album art display.Audio quality is excellent,Video is easily converted with the software program.FM radio, voice recording, line in recording etc.Of course it has limitations, but for $99.00,I know I've got my money's worth. It's not on a par with my Cowon D2,but I have to give this feature packed device two thumbs up or a 5 star rating. You'll have to quantify that your self.

Big Mistake buying this........2007-12-23
I thought I had performed a thorough evaluation of home theater receivers, Onkyo seemed to have great ratings and a good "bang for buck" value. I however got a lemon, and have found out that 30% of the units are bad for HDMI operation.
Google "Onkyo popping". My receiver pops after about 20 minutes of HDMI viewing, and the popping noise is very annoying and begins to increase. I had to buy an expensive fan to help reduce the popping, but this has not stopped the problem. Onkyo told me to reset the unit- and this did not work. The unit is very cool with my special fan, but the popping continues. Onkyo was supposed to call me back (after the 30 minute wait on the phone), but that promise was never kept. My wife wants to kill me because we spent a bunch of money on our home theater and it is not fun to watch with the popping noise.
I have never left a review in my life, but this seems to be the only way to voice my disappointment that Onkyo refuses to even accept that there is a problem, despite the 15 pages of complains.
This receiver sets you up for the future.......2007-12-21
I was a little nervous about ordering this state of the art receiver since I hadn't upgraded my sound system since 1985 but I felt I had to with the purchase of a 50" HDTV. As it turns out, the manual and remote that comes w/ it is very thorough, making setup easy. The included stickers you attach to the positive side of your speaker cable makes it impossible to hook them up w/ the wrong polarity.. unless you're color-blind. I really liked the auto calibration routine they suggest you run the first time you turn on the receiver and test the speakers. It automatically sets your front, center and rear surround speaker levels based on where you're sitting, using the included microphone. After that, w/ the remote it's easy to pick the right listening mode for each component. Even my wife thinks it's easy to operate, and that's saying something. I attached a DVD/VCR recorder and my cable DVR box to the unit using HDMI cables, then a HDMI cable to the HDTV. That's another reason I chose this unit..for the HDMI capability. HDMI cables carry both the audio and video digital signals in one cable, thus eliminating multiple cables for each. This receiver, after choosing your source, automatically upconverts the digital signal to hi-def, another plus. With all the alphabet audio signals it supports: DOLBY truHD, DTS, XM, Sirius and a bunch of others, you're set for the future. Enjoy.
Not that great........2007-12-21
I bought this along with a Yamaha VR-661. I thought this would be better as it has HDMI 1.3 and the Yamaha didn't. I'm returning it back as the sound quality is just not that great. I have my Martin Logan's hooked up to it and the Yamaha is just soo much better. I'm not so sure about the video but the audio is just much more important to me.
Good value.......2007-12-20
The receiver has matched my expectations providing good sound quality, easy connections and processing via the HDMI links. I'm using it exclusively with digital inputs and driving a 5.1 speaker system.
The remote control also simplifies overall operation by controlling, cable, box, TV, and DVD. I was surprised it supported some of the more specialised operations of other equipment like guide operation and recording modes of the cable hard disc box.
Set up was easy, and the automated speaker balancing worked well.
One minor niggle on the radio receiver is that it does not seem to be possible to get it to remember a mono setting for a particular station setting. That would have been useful for a couple of marginal radio stations that are best listened to in mono to reduce hiss.
Overall I feel this unit gives very good functionality and performance in its price range.
Love this receiver.......2007-12-20
I almost bought the 505 and decided on the 605. I'm soooo happy I did. The HDMI a/v passthroughs, ease of setup, and typical Onkyo sound quality all make this receiver fun to work with. My 605 drives my Polk RM20's and Polk PSW111 subwoofer. Very pleased with the sound. The only issue I have relates to the Onkyo iPod adapter. I wish there was a specific set of inputs for the adapter. I ended up connecting the audio using the tape inputs and ran video directly from the adapter to my TV. This works fine. For the money, this receiver is a great value...

A zen is your good friend.......2007-12-24
The Zen V Plus is the way to go. I ebjoy mine so much and by the way itt does lots of different things. You can download pictures onto it,you have access to fm radio and also a mike to record into . the sound is superb and the are many other things that you can do with it. get one it's awesome and cool.
Zen V Plus isn't exactly Xanadu, but it'll do.......2007-12-23
This is actually my second Zen V Plus, as a spare in case I forget the other one :0)
I've had one for about 6 months now. The single most impressive aspect of this product for me, as trivial as it may seem, is the quality of the earphones. I've put it through hell and high water and they're still going. I've a tendency to plow through headphones, you see, but these stood up to me, and I respect them for it.
The music was easy to upload (I never actually installed the software, I just used windows media player). The quality of the sound is impeccable, and I'm a bit of a nit-picker. This tiny device can also crank it up real loud; I've never gone past 12 of the possible 25, even on my new york city subway commutes.
I've never made use of the FM radio much, although it did strike me as having a bit shaky reception sometimes, but in all fairness it worked tolerably well.
As mine aged, it found that pressing the lower arrow button was also in fact depressing the upper play/pause button and that was a bit annoying. I have to be careful to press the lower part of that button to prevent this.
A feature that is lacking is the ability to append an entire album or artist to the Now Playing list on the device, it only lets you do individual songs. Of course, this might just be me not having read the manual properly or something.
I am overall very happy with this product, it's a great buy and I recommend it to anyone who would listen.
its dead.......2007-12-22
my zen finally went ka ptt ,bought it this summer, first the screen went dark, a common problem it seems. I could deal with it i just had to learn to navigate with no screen ,but then it started freezin up, the buttons wouldnt work, i would have to turn it off then on again for it to work. Now today i`ve had to reset it several times and now its really froze, wont turn off, no sound no screen, and my pc isnt recognizing the device. NO THANK YOU, enough, finish ,,bye bye zen.. all i can say is do some research before spending your hard earned dough,,which is why im here lookin for a new mp3 player.
MP-3 Novice.......2007-12-17
I knew nothing about MP3 players except the last time I bought one it was so confusing I gave it to my teenage niece, who loved it. This one, once I had it charged is easy to use. I use it for listening to audio books while I knit or sew. I thought the software was a little confusing when I tried to download the first audio book to it but after reading the inst. again it was fine.
No Quality Control.......2007-12-16
I had a unit that was bad on purchase. They replaced it, seemed ok until it froze and I to reset it. Guess what? There was no reset button in the reset hole! It cant be reset. This unit froze a couple of times when disconnecting it from USB port, even though no transfers were in progress. It timed out and worked fine, but when it had to be reset, no way!
They want $40 to "fix" it. Its $25 for "diagnosis and handling" and $15 for "handling" just to get the RMA! A new one is $74. A new SANSA is also about $80. So why bother paying $40 to get a refurbished one?
Average customer rating:
- Nice, but serious quality control issues.
- Earbuds with Mic
- Muddy bass, inaccurate vocals
- Works for me
- Simply the Best!!!

Nice, but serious quality control issues........2007-12-26
I have been a Sure E2C customer for a couple of years now and switched over to these because of the iphone support. To be honest I prefer the design of these to the Sures, and the sound quality is basically on par. I'm not much of an audiophile to bass response, mid rage, etc don't mean a whole lot to me. I'm not as impressed with the noise reduction as with the Sure, but that's not my main gripe. I'm on the second pair of Vibe's in 3 months. The casing next to the jack of my first pair came off after a couple of weeks, then the right channel stopped working a couple of weeks after that. I liked the headphone so I opted to get a second pair instead of getting my money back. Now after 3 weeks of use, then left channel has begun to fail. Its aggravating. For as much as they charge, you would think they would put a little more effort into quality control. At this point I can't get my money back, so I just have to send them in again and hope the first two were a fluke. Though, from some of the other reviews I've read on here I doubt that.
I really like them when they're working. I just wised they worked longer.
Earbuds with Mic.......2007-12-24
I am very pleased with these earbuds, they fit nicely, don't fall out and the mic works great with my iPhone. I recommend them without hesitation.
Muddy bass, inaccurate vocals.......2007-12-21
I have tried two sets of these and both were the same. The bass is very muddy and the vocals are very inaccurate. The highs suffer due to the extreme bass. Perhaps a dual driver design would have worked much better when producing this much bass. BTW, I love heavy bass - it just has to be clean. The Ultimate Ears Super.fi 4vi are also designed for the iPhone and have a much cleaner sound, but less bass.
Works for me.......2007-12-18
These earbuds are superior to the ones that come with the iPhone. They are comfortable and stay put in the ear. I did notice some noise when the cord was rubbed. However, it wasn't enough to consider it annoying.
The style compliments the aesthetics of the iPhone.
The microphone seems to do a good job. People say they can hear me clearly.
Lack of voice feedback through the earsbuds can be a little annoying.
The pause button on the microphone can be difficult to find and press.
Simply the Best!!!.......2007-12-12
This is the first review I've ever written for anything and this product warrants me taking a few minutes to do so. These earphones are without a doubt the best I've ever had and let me tell you, I've gone through so many head/ear phones that I'm an unqualified expert. I bought these the same day as I bought my iPhone because I knew that the apple ones would be sub par sound, would fall out of my ear and would go to crap as soon as I cranked the volume up for the first time.
The V-Modas will change how you listen to music, my jazz music sounds so much fuller, the bass is rich and carries songs on all types of music and the highs sound natural as opposed to that tin can sound.
If I had any complaint it would be that the mic may be too sensitive, it seems as though when I'm having a conversation that my fiancée can hear all the conversations going on around me as well. Still, awesome product.

Great Sound.......2007-12-25
Great sound. The automatic speaker set up worked great. Set up with two Infinity Beta 50s biamped and a beta 50 center speaker. rear speakers and sub woofer are Kenwoods from old system (I plan to replace them soon). The Odyssey set up was very accurate, it determines the distance of the speakers from a test sound. I measured the distances and compared it to what it said and it was right on. Even my old rear and subwoofer sound very good with this receiver. Stereo sound with just the two Beta 50s sounds incredible. HDMI switching is great. I have not used it to up convert video signals since I am running HDMI for every thing. Movies in surround sound sound awesome as expected.
Outstanding Receiver for the "Price"!!!!.......2007-12-21
I received my receiver yesterday. I bought from Amazon. Got great price and great free shipping - received in 3 days from when I ordered.
The setup and installtion was a walk in the park. I didnt even read the manual - now I have to agree I have lot of experience in dealing with these but still I would say the onscreen setup and menus are very intutive. I changed the name of the game/TV to PS3 etc very easily.
Did the Speaker setup and it was great and easy.
I saw terminator 2 (blu ray) on PS3 and it was just fabulous. I had Yamaha Rx-V2400 earlier and I thought that was amazing. I even thought of not buying this receiver and just buying the DMP-BD10AK because it has 7.1 analog audio (I know I know that was idiotic thought but still) and now I am way happier with the results. Even my novice wife (who had questions about my decision to buy the receiver) also acknowledged the audio looks superb - worth the price.
Apart from the audio now I have one HDMi cable running to my projector (still have the component there) and I can switch the inputs to the receiver without switching the projector input. That was not a issue for me but it will make the theater usage much simpler for my wife and dad.
I do not have any heating issues at all. The receiver has 7" of open space on the top and the back of the entertainent system is also open. I can feel the heat coming out of the box but its getting dissipated very good. I am at advantage here because my system is in the home theater in the basement and the way I have the entertainment system setup - its not visible (remote works via the universal RF transmitter) so I can keep the back side open with wires showing. But that I think is the key to cool operation of this unit. If I keep this unit in any enclosed unit (typical credenza style entertainment center) it will heat up.
The only issue I saw was (as noted by others) there was considerable delay in switching the inputs. But given the price that downside is acceptable to me at least.
Before buying this unit I contemplated buying the TX-SR875 - I am happy I did not spend the extra $550. This unit will pass the 1080p input from any HDMI source (PS3 for me) to the projector/TV. I do not see any other 1080p source in the distant future than the HD-DVD or blu ray players. BTW I dont think any of these will win - it will be standard definition download - in 2-3 years. Remember DVD-Audio/SACD war?? who won - MP3!!! So dont worry I think what ever you buy(blu ray or HD DVD) it is going to go down the drain soon when somebody will provide you will instant movie downloads for $2 per movie!!! Back to SR875 Vs 805 I right now have a 720p projector (1080p is for next year). The PS3 works as the network connector through my wifi connection to it and I can see all the data I have on the 1TB of storage on my main PC. So the only functionality I think I lost was the video upscaling of my non-highdef dish connection. I have never seen the upscaling work to the extent where I can justify paying any money for it. So I think 805 is the way to go!!!!
BTW I noticed that the instruction manual is the same for SR875 and SR805!!! That tells me how different they are..
already in the shop for repairs.......2007-12-12
I had the receiver in for about 2 weeks and I had to send it off for repairs. It never upscaled any image up to 1080p or anything close to it. Additionally, the display didnt work property. I could have all speakers working and only the left and right front speakers were displayed on the receiver.
On a positive note, the help line was in fact very helpful.
It does get really hot!
Right unit right on time........2007-12-11
The TX-SR805 we purchased with the primary focus of THX certification and zoned outputs arrived sooner than expected, and free shipping. The set up did require reading the instruction manual, but the remote control functions slipped seamlessly into our existing component lash-up. The addition of this unit with the satellite receiver dual Digital Video Recorder and wide screen made the High Definition content even more brilliant. The audio zone control will fit snuggly into the whole house audio speaker arrangement. Great buy, just price and right on time.

Great Earphones.......2007-12-26
Great Earphones!!! One of the best I ever owned. I use the earphones on my Iriver clix and Cowon D2. Sound clarity is excellent. Design is great. Very light weight and fits well in the ears.
Thumbs Up for Vibes.......2007-12-25
I've owned the Vibes for a couple of months now. They're the most expensive headphones I've ever owned. That being said, they're also the best I've ever owned. I was looking for a product with good bass but that was also clear and accurate, which led me to the Vibes. Sound quality is very good. The bass is tight and clean. The mids and highs are also very clean and clear. I listen to literally all types of music and after using these, my music had a new depth to it. You can turn them up pretty loud without distortion. They do an ok job of blocking out background noise. Being small and lightweight make them very comfortable to wear and they stay in place. My only gripe is that jack since the it is difficult to pull out if your hands are oily.
Overall, I'd recommend these to anyone, enough bass for almost anyone with clear and accurate mids and highs.
Much better than standard iPods.......2007-12-25
Definitely more comfortable than the standard earphones that come with the iPod. Sound is good but I can't say they are better or worse than a set of Bose. Check both if you can. Forget all the specification jargon. Try them, compare them with others if possible, and purchase what sounds good to you.
Worth The Price.......2007-12-24
They are very light and fit well. They are extremely comfortable, and aftrer a bit you don't even notice you are wearing them. They have included one set of white ear pieces in small medium and large and another set in black. The sound is very good, and in fact better than more expensive earbuds. One of the better purchases I have made. Well worth it!
Excellent.......2007-12-22
The V-MODA are the perfect "tiny" earphones. They fit in the ear without pain or discomfort. The sound quality is perfect. Great bass response. The only bad thing about these are the price. It is up there. I was skeptical buying these. But, the reviews were good....so I took a chance. I'm glad I did. But, my stupid self lost mine the same week I bought them and I just ordered another set. That should let you know how good they are.

Cordless Mouse.......2007-12-21
I've been using it for about a month. It installed instantly and has been working flawlessley. The batteries that came with it are still working and I have yet to shut the mouse off by placing the receiver on the bottom of it. Highly recommended.
Cordless mouse.......2007-12-21
The mouse works fine but makes a tinny click that is annoying. My wife now uses it.
