Apparently Monster has some real quality issues, this is my second bad experience with their products. Unit intermittantly stops transmitting, have to unplug to reset. Autoscan......great idea....needs more work. 120 sec to scan and you still have a busy station. Amazon was great on the return policy though, prepaid shipping.

I have tried the old monster cable and wasn't very happy with it as there was a lot of static with it. This auto scan cable allows you to do a search to find the clearest channel. We've had the new cable for about a month and would recommend it to others.

I purchased this product last week because a few people i know have used this and said it is the best fm transmitter for the ipod. 5 minutes after it came in i went to my truck to hook up my ipod, there was nothing. I am not sure why, but the radio station will not appear on the ipod touch screen and will not allow you to know what station you are tuned into to set your radio to. On monster's website ( as of 12/3/07) this is the first product listed on the page for touch accessories. After waiting on hold for over 30 minutes to talk to a tech support rep. from monster, i found out that the page on www.monstercable.com was wrong and that if you have a ipod touch, you should not buy this. Monster agreed to send me the correct one in exchange for this one. The one that is being sent to me is the Monster iCarPlay Wireless Plus.

I am the comms officer on a Navy ship and space in my stateroom is limited. I found this item to be perfect for organizing power cord clutter. It has a very short power cord, flat receptacles, and the unit is easy to move out of the way to provide more desk space. The added plus is an illuminated, blue, light on the receptacle plug which provides a ready indication that power is on. I purchased two units and use them together. One of the best products of its kind.

This surge protector does what it is supposed to and is very portable. The build quality is great; unlike other units it doesn't come unplugged easily. it also has a nice blue light indicating it is on.
There are only 2 drawbacks; it doesn't have an on/off switch and doesn't have covers for the unused sockets. Other than those minor issues it has preformed great in the UK with 3 different adapters!

I do a fair amount of travel and the hotels never seem to have enough electrical outlets for my many tech gadgets, i.e. laptop, cell, headset, ipod, travel speakers, etc...one may say I am on overload, but I do like my toys.
This power strip is definitely a must have for the road warrior...or any traveler that runs into this same frustration. This handy device packs up small and gives me 4 outlets. Since it comes from Monster, I trust the quality.
One negative I would add is that it lights up the entire room with a blue glow. If you are like me and need a dark room to sleep, I suggest you just throw a sock over it. The usefulness of the device outweighs the glow.

Since the 1.1.1 release, iPhone now has video out - however, it does NOT work with this adapter. I think you have to buy the Apple component or composite cable.

The quality of the cable itself is fine however I bought this cable because it listed as working with the Nano. After receiving it and was unable to get the Video to work. I called apple and they stated that this cable will not work with the 3G Nano's that I have. I wish the product had a more specific list to what it will and will not work with. I was going out of town and didn't have time now to order online again so I stopped at a Apple store and bought there cable for $50 and it works fine. Now I'm back home past the 30 day return policy and have a useless cable here.

Not sure if it's nice or not. Having trouble outputting video from the Ipod Classic. Heard an array of issues stemming from accessories needing an apple compatible chip to the player software itself causing the issue. The cable looks nice - and I think Monster has nice products, just that they are over price for what they are. So this review probably isn't much help, but thought you ought to make sure what version you have a do a little reading before you purchase.

Plugged my Ipod video for the first time to my TV yesterday - works great! I have an old TV with a coax connected to my even older VCR. Used the Monster ITV Link to connect the Ipod (via the dock connector) to a Line-in on the VCR. Used the supplied S-Video to Composite Video adapter, adjusted the Video Settings on the Ipod to TV Out - we have picture and sound on the TV! Depending on the quality of the video, the picture can be a little grainy - but I think that has more to do with the quality of the video than the cable. The ITV Link also has a mini USB port on it, so you can charge the Ipod while watching - avoid the Ipod from dying on you in the middle of a movie. So I have the ITV Link hooked to the USB Power Adapter via a USB to mini B cable.
There may seem to be a lot of cables and adapters involved - but it really isn't hard to hook-up. Just add these to the already growing mass of wires and cables behind your home entertainment center.

I bought two of these items. One was defective. Not a good start, but the product is not bad considering it's the only option in this price range. There does seems to be some volume attenuation, but it is barely noticeable (i.e. the volume is a bit higher when the headphones are plugged directly into the source, versus through this splitter when it is on the maximum volume. Not sure the mute switch makes much sense. Why not have installed a mute switch for both sets of headphones? I can see more application for that than the current configuration.

There is a nearly identical Monster splitter on Amazon that is marketed to work with the MS Zune, however it costs almost twice as much as this splitter. If you have a Zune, buy this splitter instead. It works great and will save you money. Great for traveling. Just took it on a 10-hour flight to Europe with my wife.
PS - This will work with any device (not just a Zune) that has a standard 3.5 mm headphone output.

I use this splitter to plug into my laptop, with one of the outputs going to my desktop speakers and one of them going to my headphones. Because of the mute function on the splitter, I can choose to listen only through my speaker or only through my headphones without having to fool with multiple plugs or mess with unbalanced jacks. (Yes, you have both sides unmuted so that sound comes out of both sources, but that doesn't make a lot of sense for my setup.) Additionally, the individual volume controls mean that I already have the volumes set just right individually for both the speakers and headphones, and I don't have to worry about accidentally being blasted away when I switch between the two. The sound quality is excellent, and the amount of hassle it saves me makes it well worth the money.

As reported, the volume button has a bad habit of blasting all the way to the max but I thought I could live with it. However this is clipped to my backpack with the Ipod inside and it cant even consistently fast forward through songs or skip back and forth.

I'm a big fan of wireless remotes for my iPods and this is probably the only one available with a transmitter that's both waterproof and glove-friendly. Worked like a charm at first, but eventually, using the volume control became totally unpredictable. At the worst times trying to nudge the volume up one baby-step would result in the iPod shooting all the way up to top volume! Then it'd go back down all the way to nothing when I tried to turn it back down. (grumble)
I visited Monster's corporate web site and complained to support. They arranged for me to send in the old iEZClick and replaced it with a new unit. It worked great, for a while. Now the new unit is doing the same thing. All the way up! All the way down!
You could say I'm a bit disappointed. Three stars, mostly for the good support/replacement policy.

DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT PLAIN AND SIMPLE. I looked into ipod remotes that are weather resistant and I only came up with two, this one and another made by belkin. I haven't tried the belkin product yet but this one doesn't work. It did everything the bed reviews mentioned. The volume goes all the way up then all the way down. It only works at a very close distance and even up close you often have to press the button several times. I would not buy this product until monster comes out with an updated model because they clearly did not work all the bugs out of this one. I have to say I am surprised as I have usually been quite pleased with monster cable products. Oh ya DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT UNTIL THEY COME OUT WITH A NEW MODEL!!!

Bought the item back mid July 2007, was working fine until 2-3weeks ago.
The forward key doesn't work properly anymore.
After removing the face rubber, found out that the forward dip switch has poor connectivity as it isn't soldered to the board.
I believe it is just bad luck. I'll do the repair myself as soon as I can find a solder iron.
Otherwise great remote to use with IPOD, reason of the 4 stars

I tried three different component video cables to hook my DVD player to my HDTV: standard RCA composite video cables, Sony component video cables, and Monster component video cables. Everything but the Monster component video cables gave me a garbled picture or no picture at all. The Monster component vide cables gave me a beautiful clear picture.
I discovered the problem - if you run a component video cable next to any other type of cable (such as a power cable, stereo speaker cable, etc...), the other cables interfere with the component video cable. Only the Monster cables have enough shielding to overcome the interference.
So if you can run your component video cables completely separate from all other cables, then you can probably use a cheaper component video cable and get a great picture. However, if your setup is like mine and all of your cables run together through the same hole in the back of your entertainment center, you need a Monster cable to overcome the interference.

After considerable on-line research, I bought these Monster component cables for our new HDTV (a Sony LCD). I first connected them from our DVD player to the TV but couldn't see any noticeable improvement over the component cables provided by Comcast (when we ordered the HD cable box). I next connected the Monster cables from the HD cable box to the HDTV and again did not see any noticeable improvement over the Comcast component cables. We got a great result with both DVDs and HDTV channels using the Comcast cables. So I ended up returning the Monster cables to Amazon.

I did not see any picture quality improvement using this high priced Monster cable. I get the same quality pictures from my $ 8.00 cable bought from biglots. So purchased a HDMI cable. The cable works as advertised. However you can purchase HDMI cables that perform 100% the same at about 1/20th of the cost. For the length of the cable, look to spend between $3-$5 and no more. Since HDMI is digital there is no degradation of picture/audio quality. It either works or it doesn't. Therefore the expensive monster cable has absolutely NO difference in video/audio quality.
Any HDMI cable from monoprice will work with the PS3.

Buying this cable is just like throwing money in the trash - cheap HDMI cables will do just as well as Monster. Monster needs to make products that actually have some justice to the price they charge. There is a small difference in analog cables and speaker wire performance, BUT THIS IS DIGITAL - THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE IN TRANSMISSION QUALITY with short distance connections! Cat 5 cabling with a HDMI plug at the end will do just as well!!! I have purchased Monster cables in the past, BUT NEVER AGAIN - this is treating consumers like they are complete idiots!!!

Everyone I talk to and work with (Circuit City/Best Buy) say its the only way to get the most outta the Sony Playstation because it is designed and made with the next-gen console in mind. The picture is crisp and the sound is amazing in 5.1Surround Sound. Bare in Mind, this will NOT do what a professional HDTV calibration will do. (About $300.00 in my area ) But, For getting The Blacks just right,I was amazed at how many shades of "Black" there really are! lol! The sharpness and Black adjustment alone is worth the price! Color And Brightness etc.are indeed better than before i used the disc. I highly recommend it! It is Very "USER FRIENDLY"

This was not all the helpful. After changing my settings to what this DVD recommended, the picture on my TV was worse than before I started. I did learn what the different settings were all about and how to use them, but I found the settings per the DVD were way off. At least the price I paid for the DVD wasn't too bad.

Seems that the product is aimed at retarded user. Does not offer much help in the calabration and ends with a worthless video. Did not buy the dvd to be subject to general statement with not much substance. Most quotes are subjective and will not improve the quality of setting even if followed to the letter. Very annoying product. Wish there was a zero star rating. I should have believed the other negative reviews and wish I could get my money back.

The majority of the proceeding reviews appear to be very negative - I only wished that I had read them before making a purchase from what I had considered to be a reputable supplier of audio and video equipment.
After listening to the nauseating narration during my initial viewing, I turned the sound off!

Maybe I was just lucky when I received my new 42" plasma TV, as all I had to do was plug it in and complete auto setup, the results were set exactly the way the HDTV Calibration Wizard demonstrated. One can easily define black buttons on a black shirt beneath a black coat. Contrast was perfect and the faces showed the correct hue or tint. Sharpness shows no shadows and no blurred edges. The picture size or format was exactly as depicted for a 16:9 ratio image.
In my opinion the set up videos are the most basic and can be accomplished with any well-known DVD movie. Keep in mind, if this disc is recorded under ideal studio conditions, you will not necessarily see the results repeated from your local HDTV stations or satellite signals.
I do not know if it would be technically feasible but to be able to display the various resolution sources. Be it interlaced or progressive at 1080, 720, 480 or regular 525 line could be useful.
Depending on which network you may be watching the source material varies greatly between commercials, live and recorded broadcasts. The HDTV standards themselves vary when CBS, NBC and PBS broadcast 1080 interlaced and ABC and Fox choose 720 progressive. Unless you have a 1080p HDTV and a Blu-ray HD-DVD player or PlayStation 3 you will not be able to display 1080 progressive image. My progressive scan DVD with component video will only display 480 lines progressive.
Do not worry, unless you are sitting very close to your HDTV you probably will not notice the difference.
Picture size is my pet peeve. This calibration disc is designed for 16:9 ratio only. Why the TV industry chose this is a mystery to me as the majority of wide screen movies of today are produced with a 2.35:1 ratio. Other variations will occur when viewing some of the old "Cinemascope" movies. With a "correctly" set up HDTV a black band at both the top and the bottom of the image will be normal. Classic movies filmed in the old 4:3 aspect ratio will, of course, be presented with black bands both to the left and right.
In my opinion this HDTV Calibration Wizard does not even scratch the surface for a video display system. The omission of any calibration settings for Dolby, DTS or THX audio systems is also seen as a serious drawback.
I also object to having to pay, what I consider, an inflated price for a commercial to Monster Cable Products Inc. Whether or not I may see any improvement with the use of these cables remains to be seen.

I just recently purchased this, and am probably not technical enough to give it much justice, but can say it has enough plug ins to hold all of my components, fits nicely behind my tv stand and seems to be doing its job, as I plug it in and all of my stuff works. The outlets are far enough apart to plug everything in. If my house gets struck by lightning I'll be sure to give an update on my review.
