I am 46 and in need of reading glasses. The display is large and glasses are not needed for the buttons (which are actually a little oversized) or the display. Speaker option works fine.

I like the big buttons and the caller id has large display. Easy to use. I do not know about the speed dial buttons seems to me that it is more complicated than it is worth to use. I have two of these phones and I am happy with how they work.
Suggestion for those Stating "make sure receiver is on base".......2007-10-13
I was reviewing this phone and plan on purchasing the product. My overall notation from the "reviews" was make sure the receiver/handset is on base correctly. Might I suggest turn phone over and reverse the base as to "wall mount". Here's what I mean, we are viewing and get the phone on "slant" position for desk, which makes the receiver sit slanted, all or most phones on the back the Plastic back reverses to a wall mount position. Reverse the slant, unsnap the back and turn it other way, it snaps in place. It will make the phone receiver sit flatter on phone and not slanted down.

Generally, we like this cordless phone/radio. It's not as easy to figure out the features as I'd hoped. We've had a lot of power outages this winter and have had to reset the clock many times already, so we're getting pretty good at that! My husband really dislikes that it is so hard to turn off the alarm in the dark each morning. He gets up before me and doesn't want to use the "snooze" feature. He just wants to get the alarm turned it off completely so that it doesn't wake me up!

This cordless phone - clock radio tops all others! It is a great space saver on the bedside table. There are 2 preset alarms that stay in alarm mode daily, I just turn it off on the weekends. Love that I don't have to worry if I set the alarm! It was easy to setup no need to read a manual. Half blind without my contacts I can easily read the clock display because it is very large and even has dimmer control. The ring tone is different -but pleasant, and the phone lays in the cradle for a 'lefty'. Feature rich, you'll love it!

Not too much to fault. First, when you pick up the phone you have to turn it 180 to speak, and then 180 again to put back in the cradle. Second, is the beeps any time you touch it to change, stop, snooze,rrrrrrrrrrr. Otherwise, it is a nice compact size, and the cordless is a great improvement over our last corded phone.

Now we are talking. I was never a great fan of GE but this item can change that. It is comparatively easy to program, has a three way display brightness switch, has caller ID, PBX and all the other bells and whistles you can use in an office (and they call this a bedroom phone?).Of course you can set the wake up to music or a buzzer. Has AM and FM. Didn't like the additional attachment of the AM antenna so I discarded it (makes for a much neater appearnce). All in all I don't have any nays about this unit. By the way may I add that Amazon is a top vendor for me because of their service and efficiency (no, I am not employed by Amazon) and I will continue to use them in all my online purchases.

The item was a little larger than my previous caller ID box and was a little bit more cumbersome to get used to. Deletion was much faster than previous box. My biggest complaint is that it is battery-only operated and the information screen is always on (reducing the battery life). My previous box blanked out after a minute or so of use and ran on AC with battery back-up. All-in-all, the unit performs well.

It works for me. I wish it had a few features my previous caller id had. This was certainly the best one I could find out there. I bought two previous ones and they were not very useful. It is hard to find caller id with call waiting without having it included with an answering machine or cordless phone. I use it with a land line phone. This model seems to be of good quality. I like the large display.

I bought this product to provide caller id functionality to an old speaker-phone that I really like. And I haven't had any problem with the basic functionality. That is, by the 2nd ring, the caller info gets displayed. It also has another benefit that I hadn't thought of when buying it: it displays the accurate date and time that get synced with each call. It's a clock that doesn't require setting.
My only complaint is that it is sometimes difficult to read the display. As others have noted, you need to basically be looking straight on to read things clearly. The angle at which the unit stands by default did not work for my setup. I had to prop up the back with a make-shift wedge in order to be able to read it from my desk chair.

I got a great price for this set of cables. They function exactly as described. They were used between a HD- DVR cable box and a Toshiba flat panel LCD 720P 37" tv. Picture quality is great.

These cables are a bit cheezy. They work fine but most electronics you buy throw in higher quality wiring than this. As with a lot of factory cables, they hotmelt the plastic over the RCA plugs. This is mostly good but quality control on mine must have blinked because I had a big air bubble exposing the center wire on one end of six. I just put a glob of silicone in the hole and used it anyway.

Here's what I really don't get....it's freakin' wire. Why would you buy monster cables and gold-plate-connector yourself into the poorhouse when you're really just buying metal wire wrapped in flexible plastic casing? At around five bucks, these seem like a darn fine deal, especially considering they also contain the rca audio jacks you'll need along with your three component video connectors to get both video & sound from a component source to a component destination.

As a college student, I'm always trying to have the latest tech gear. I have a new HDTV, an XBOX 360, and a surround sound system. The 360 is connected to the surround sound and HDTV, but the TV's sound needed a cable to connect it to the receiver. I looked at Best Buy and saw the "Monster" cables for around $60 and put the idea out of my mind. However, I came on here and found a couple cables. While I was in the checkout with another cable, I looked around a bit and found this one. It was only $2, so I took the plunge and bought it. It came in the mail and I set it up. It works just fine with the 5.1 Surround Sound system. Just plug it into the back of the TV and the digital coax plug in the receiver. It works great for me, and I'll bet it works just as well as the Monster one. If there's a cable cheaper than this, feel free to get it. If you feel like getting a more expensive one, get it. I can't stop you, but I would just go for the best deal. Either the cable works or it doesn't - there's no inbetween. This one works fine.

I needed a longer coaxial cable and after checking out the local Circuit City and Best Buy I decided I just wasn't willing to pay $30 for it. After looking at Amazon I found this product and decided to give it a try. I am always somewhat hesitant to purchase budget AV cords, but have no regrets about purchasing this one. I don't notice any difference in sound quality from the better cord I had been using previously. I'm told that with this type of signal there really is no reason to worry about cord quality, but I don't understand the technology behind it all. All I know is this cord works great, is of good quality, and is dirt cheap!

$3.00?!?! Are you kidding me? Buy it. A digital signal is a digital signal is a digital signal whether you get it through a ridiculous "Monster" cable or a cheap one like this. Don't waste your time looking at the expensive stuff.
Expensive cables matter if you are connecting analog signals, but have absolutely no benefit on a digital signal.

Hard to understand.......2007-12-27
I really wanted a three mailbox machine and found this one. Had received good reviews so I was pretty sure it would work as expected. Disappointed with the item as it is very, very difficult to understand and the only way to delete a message is to play it and hit the delete button while the message is replaying (my previous machine had a button to delete all old messages which worked great).
GE Digital Answering Machine.......2007-07-18
This is the one I have owned since the 90s..there was a model made in the early 90s which I still have to this day. At first I didnt like the 3 mailboxes. But if you just leave a regular message it will go into the mail mailbox...easy playback, easy to set the date/time.
The only feature I didnt like is that if the power goes off, which mine does you lose the messages so Im looking for an updated GE that has a power saver.
After all these years its been on 24 hours a day since the early 90s and now its 2007, thats about 15 years worth of no problems and anyone in the house can play it back. That is the great feature, easy to play, delete. GE always had good ideas for simple useage.

The reason I bought this answering machine was so that I could delay for 6 rings before it would answer the phone. We need more time to get to the phone! It's great that it has multiple mailboxes also. There is one for me and one for my wife and one for people who don't know us (that's how we filter the junk messages!
If I could change two things I would:
1. I'd like a way to mount the machine on the wall. It is currently configured for desktop only.
2. The machines voice isn't always clear and understandable. I don't recommend this machine for those who have trouble hearing.
Other than those two things this is a great answering machine.
