The cables are fine. Work as designed. However... I had to pretty much order them in the dark as they were described only as HDMI cables including the length. There are many diffrerent types of HDMI cables on the market which are designed for different technologies. The technical details said:
"For high definition video (720p, 1080i, 1080p) or standard video formats."
This is an outright LIE! The package itself says specifically that the cable is for "up to 1080i". That doesn't mean this cable can't handle 1080p, I'm sure it will, I'm just angry because I bought this cable because the details said 1080p and that is what I wanted to buy.

This cable is not a scam...For all those that think it is you need to get your eyes checked or get a better quality HD TV. I purchased this 300 cable brand new from a third party here on Amazon. I will admit I was a bit skeptical when I hooked it up to my Samsung 1080 40" (LNT4061F). I was using my Verizon FIOS's 3 cable component that came standard with the set top box but was not getting a real good HD picture on my HD channels. I noticed what I feel is a huge difference that HDMI hookup offers in clarity in HD. I was really amazed. If you have the HDMI hookup, i strongly advise you to get an HDMI cable for it. Why spend $[...] on a TV and not want to spend that extra $[...] that Amazon is selling a brand new Monster 3ft. HDMI cable for?

First off, no, I didn't buy this product. I didn't need to simply because I already knew how the scam works; Monster's marketing thinks (correctly) that their customers are either gullible enough, or just plain stupid enough to toss out 500% more money for "oxygen free", gold-plated connectors. Even if the extra manufacturing was worth the added cost (which of course it's not), there is NO NEED FOR IT WITH A DIGITAL SIGNAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Digital signal are checksum-corrected. You either get a freaking signal at 100% of the source quality, or you get nothing - period. Digital signals don't "degrade" like analog. You can toss all the oxygen-free copper at it you want, but you might as well toss it in the garbage for all the good it'll do you.
Those gold-plated connectors? LOL!. I can guarantee the inside of your set-top box is tin and maybe nickel if you're lucky. It's simply a waste of money. If you spend $5 for an HDMI cable it's going to have the exact same quality as a $800 cable. Go ahead, toss out the green... Those people hallucinating about how their color is more saturated on this cable or that cable are the same people who respond to placebos in FDA testing. If you paid $800 for YOUR HDMI cable, of course you need to justify your stupidity somehow.
Bottom line is these are digital cables for digital signals. Not optical, not analog. Color doesn't "degrade" because "color" is a zero or a one.

Well, I thought I couldn't go wrong giving this cable a try since it is so inexpensive and I am still glad I did so, because now I know what I do now. And that is; Price really does matter. I received this cable and it is much worse due to artifacts then my component cables.
There are large white/black diamonds and blocks (several pixels) every few seconds that appear randomly all over my screen for split seconds. HDMI is digital so I figured it is either on or off. Correct, but there still can be interference, and the single may get messed up, and this creates artifacts.
Anyways, if you have any doubts it really doesn't hurt to try these cheap cables. But for people who don't want to waste the time, just go with expensive well made cables.

If you are using an average HD system, its ok but if are willing to spend on high end system. This is not the cable for you. I got my cable fast but tried to use this cable compare to a standard cable by Sony. You will notice difference thru picture and especially sound wise. I am using Pioneer Elite Receiver with 1.3 upscale and a pioneer elite blue ray. This does not meet my expectation.

There must be a difference!.......2007-12-27
Unfortunately these cables did not work Christmas morning on our new PS3. Our TV said no HDMI signal detected. We had to wait until the 26th to go out a buy a much more expensive HDMI cable (I decided to go ahead and get Sony's)and it worked immediately. I know there isn't supposed to be a difference - but I probably will not risk it again - esp for Christmas morning. I was very disappointed.(the seller as offered to replace - so we'll see if these work).

Bought a 1080p LCD in August and a 1080p HD DVD player in Dec. I purchased the HDMI cable shortly after for $.25 and it produces perfectly. Great reception on the TV. No need to drop $50 on a cable at a box store because this one works the same.

These are supposedly Dayton HDMI cables which sell for a big price elsewhere, although nothing on the packaging nor the cables says Dayton. They look pretty solid. What leaves me feeling uneasy is the scam-like pricing - $1 for a cable and $5 for shipping. And that is $5 PER CABLE, so when I ordered 3, I was charged $15 shipping!! They came in an inexpensive bubble bag by first-class mail. Could not have cost more than $4 total, so they made $11 or so just off "shipping". The total price was still lower than what other companies charge total for Dayton cables, but why use such a scammy approach?
