You may be looking at this composite cable and wonder, which should I get?
Composite: Offers the ability to play music, photos, and videos. Overall "okay" quality.
D-Terminal: Offers the ability to play music, photos, and videos. Overall "better" quality. Rarely used in the USA. (Do not confuse with VGA ports.)(Not sold in the United states.)
Component: Offers the ability to play games on a progressive scan TV (480p, ect.), music, photos, and videos. Overall "better" quality.
S-Video: Offers the ability to play music, photos, and videos. Overall "good" quality. (Not sold in the Unite States.)
On another note, the PSP's native resolution is 480x272, and when you place that on a 720x480 or higher resolution TV, it will never look as sharp. These cables are nice for taking a PSP to someone's house and showing them videos or photos on their TV, or your TV.

The composite AV cable does exactly what it's supposed to do. Yes, it'll allow you to hook up your PSP to your TV to watch movies, photos and listen to music. No, it won't let you view games.
For me, it's been a great companion because I watch a lot of podcasts and movies from my PSP. Using MactheRipper and Handbrake, I copy my movies onto the PSP and view them on the go or at close to DVD quality on my TV with this cable. Also, it's great for my Locationfree Unit, allowing me to placeshifted TV on another TV.
Basically, if you're savvy about placing video content on your PSP, it's a must-have. If you don't use it for video at all, skip it.

These cables are nice because they allow you to connect your PSP 2000 to a TV. you can scroll through the XMB and you can view photos, listen to music (and view the visualizations), Watch UMD videos, and also MP4 videos. You can even use the Web Browser on your TV. Unfortunately, you cannot play games with this cable. You can try but as soon as you start a game, a pop-up displays, and informs you that to play games you need to buy the PSP 2000 Component AV Cable. I think this flaw should be included in the product description so that customers with older SDTVs that only have Composite cable inputs, would know that they will NOT be able to play games from their PSP 2000 on a TV.
UMD MOVIES TO TV! WHOA!!.......2007-09-26
when i got this cable [and the component cable], i'm glad that i did. when i tried using this to a regular tv and play the game, it did not work. i'm no game geek but i do love watching movies. when i did tried watching the UMD videos, it was GREAT! just what i expected from the cable! its just like watching a DVD movie! i was planning to get the PSP TV ADAPTER by BLAZE using my old PSP, but this is much better. anyone who wants to watch their UMD MOVIES over a regular tv, better get this cable and the new PSP Slim.

This product does exactly what its suppose to. It lets you browse the net, and look at movies and pictures through your tv's RCA ports better known as Red, White, and Yellow. It specifically says in the book and on the psp that in order to play games you have to use the componet cable along with a 480P or 480i television.

I purchased this cable so that I could watch satellite TV on my portable DVD player by my computer. You will probably need an adapter to convert from the RCA-style connectors to the mini connectors on most players. There doesn't appear to be any loss of signal quality, even though the cable is very long. The video wire is pretty thick, so that probably helps. Nice cable for a good price.

I got a great price for this set of cables. They function exactly as described. They were used between a HD- DVR cable box and a Toshiba flat panel LCD 720P 37" tv. Picture quality is great.

These cables are a bit cheezy. They work fine but most electronics you buy throw in higher quality wiring than this. As with a lot of factory cables, they hotmelt the plastic over the RCA plugs. This is mostly good but quality control on mine must have blinked because I had a big air bubble exposing the center wire on one end of six. I just put a glob of silicone in the hole and used it anyway.

Here's what I really don't get....it's freakin' wire. Why would you buy monster cables and gold-plate-connector yourself into the poorhouse when you're really just buying metal wire wrapped in flexible plastic casing? At around five bucks, these seem like a darn fine deal, especially considering they also contain the rca audio jacks you'll need along with your three component video connectors to get both video & sound from a component source to a component destination.

Swapping the old 3 prong cable for this 2 prong with the S-Cable connection was a great idea. Really cleaned up the image from our older satellite box! Totally worth doing and this cable is a bargain at $14!

This cable comes with your Xbox when you buy it. Its a good all-around cable. But you can make the graphics much more crisp and clear with a Monster Cable(if you don't mind spending a good amount of money for a cable). Anyway, this cable is a good cable to come with the Xbox.

Worst Cable Ever!.......2001-11-27
This is the cable that comes with every new X-Box. Whoever designed this cable should be beaten with a large bag of Swedish Fish. I guess they failed to realize that some people would like to connect the Video (yellow) cable to their Television and the Audio (Red and White) to their stereo/surround receiver. Too bad the 3 plugs are fused together leaving about 2 inches to spare between each one. With all the time spent designing this console, you would think SOMEONE would realize it's not a good idea to force the plugs together.
I would seriously give this cable a Zero star if it would let me. Now I am forced into buying the (...) advanced A/V pack just so I can hook up the console properly.

Good for S-Video and Composite Sharing.......2007-08-19
If you're like me and you have more video to input into your home theater than ports available, you probably need one of this. This obviously isn't HD compatible since it lacks either component or HDMI. However, I have a security DVR, Video iPod and Sony Camcorder which all do no better than S-Video. Since I can't spare an open input on my Home Theater Receiver for each of these gadgets, this handy switch is the best way to share them. The remote capability is essential. Once you use the included remote to program your universal remote, it becomes trivial to switch between camcorders, iPods, Satellite TV, DVD, etc.

I'm sure this well made product works as designed but your device (e.g. laptop) has to convert the S-video signal to analog (I guess) to work. This product won't do it. Should it say that on the specs?

The picture shows S-Video MALE and Composite Female. That's not what arrives in the mail however. Someone doesn't have their act together. Getting an RMA isn't quick either.
