Bought two of these for 46" LCDs. Heavy Duty and very secure once mounted. Two considerations. Plug in all connections to tv before hanging on bracket. Need small hands to adjust manual thumbscrews for tilting.Looks great on the wall.

I bought this wall mount for my Sony Bravia 46" LCD, which I also purchased at Amazon. It was an easy install using the enclosed hardware and following the directions. Didn't take long before it was up.
The description stated tilting wall mount, so I bought it instead of the regular one, which was a little cheaper. I guess I should have read the description more thoroughly. It only tilts downward at a very slight angle, but more upwward. I would assume that most people tilt downward, as they probably hang them above fireplaces, etc. Therefore, I was hoping (assumed) to have a bit more tilt.
I'm not dissatisfied whatsoever with the product. But I could have paid less with the same result. Overall it was a good purchase.

Great Bracket for your Flat Panel.......2007-12-25
I installed this bracket in about 2 hrs. with my dad's help. I put a 32" Sharp Aquos on it. It was really easy to get on the wall and then place the LCD panel on it. The only thing I regret is that it doesn't allow me to get to the back of my unit without having to uninstall it. Luckily all my component and HDMI slots were used up, so now when I get a new item, I just replace it with whatever I'm discarding.

I bought this to go with my Toshiba 47HL167 LCD TV. It hooks up easily, comes with an amazing number of bolts so it can hook up to any TV; but they are separated in nice little pouches so finding what you need is easy. It attaches to a stud wall with 4 screws and installation is quick.
This is the only mount I've used, but I can't see what a $150 mount would offer you. So long as it doesn't crash off the wall - that's really all you need. It also pivots but I set mine vertical.
The hardest part was deciding where to mount it. I used blue painters tape to layout a 'TV' on the wall and looked at it from lots of angles, chairs, sofas, etc. My first inclination was to go too high, I found that was uncomfortable on the neck. Final TV center height is 50". This is comfortable to look at from a chair, but also high enough to view while laying on a couch (and looking above your feet). But your room and furniture will be different - so try the "tape" TV for 30 minutes of so.

Almost great TV mount.......2007-12-26
First, let me start by saying I am blown away by how quickly Amazon filled this order. I placed the order on a Sunday, taking advantage of the standard (free) shipping, and was quite surprised when I received the order the following Wednesday.
The TV mount worked exactly as described, and came with an assortment of screws and other mounting hardware to do the trick. No extra trips to the hardware store - almost. Much to my chagrin, I discovered that when trying to hang my LG flat panel on the wall, this mount didn't extend out enough to allow the AC power cord to plug into the outlet I had located behind the TV. The TV plug projected from the wall about an 1 1/2", requiring me to go to the Depot to purchase a recessed wall outlet, like the ones used for hanging clocks.
My only other comment is that the set screws used to secure the TV to the mount are accessed using a very long allen wrench, and in order to turn them, you must crouch down below the hanging TV and carefully turn the wrench. This isn't terrible, but when the mount is flush against the wall, like this one is designed to fit, you are only able to get 3/4 of a turn of the wrench before you must take it out, and carefully reposition it in the allen screw. The whole process of securing the TV took about 5 minutes.
Have to say, all in all - this mount cost about half what a comparable mount at Best Buy would have cost - and does the trick nicely.

I'm using this wall mount with a 37" Olevia LCD TV. It was very easy to install, and the TV is easy to mount and dismount (when needed). Just make sure you screw into wall studs, and not just drywall.

Seems very well built, and it comes with a ton of extra screws. The only problem is that I can't reach the "safety" screws on the bottom. I am not really concerned because even without those screws it would be just about impossible to knock the TV off the wall. It's working great with our Sharp Aquos 46" LCD.

I bought this wall mount for a 32" Vizio. I had to make some modification with the hardware, which wasn't a big deal, and then it went up in about 30 minutes. I took back the Vizio and bought a Toshiba from Amazon, and it went up even more easily. The installation seems very stable.

Sturdy but you may need special screws for your TV.......2007-12-20
The stand is sturdy and comes with quite an assormant of screws for mounting different televisions. I was using it for a Sony W3000 52" TV. It had my TV listed in a book that said which of the sets of screws to use. I tried these and they were too long. It had another set that was the same diameter but they were too short. After reading the manual that came with my telelvision I found out that I needed an inbetween size that did not come with the mount kit. After going to 2 Home Depot's and a Lowes I was unable to find the right size bolts, so I ended up buying a set of washers, and had to use 3 of them for each of the bolts that came with mount kit so that I could tighten them with out poking a hole through the front of the TV. I was actually also surprised with Sony for not including the mounting bolts for their with tv.

This mounting system is very strong, well made, and the tilt mechanism works great. The locking screws that secure the TV arm brackets to the mounting plate add an extra level of security.
However, it's a real shame the wall bracket isn't just a couple of inches wider, so it would span 3 studs (on 16" centers). I should have read reviewer G. Knight's comments about this, before ordering.
I should have checked my stud locations before ordering this mount. I discovered that the centerline of my optimal TV location on my wall, was almost directly over a stud. So, I had to shift the mount left to the farthest recommended holes. After mounting the TV on the bracket and shifting it to the right to compensate, the wall bracket flexes by an undesireable amount.
If you are going to mount a 50" or larger TV on your wall, and want a precise placement, I recommend that you avoid this model and go with the ST670 series instead.
On the other hand, if you have a wide latitude for positioning your TV on the wall, or are lucky enough so that your TV's centerline lies directly between two studs (plus or minus 2"), this mount will do the job very nicely. My advice is, determine where you want your TV then check to see if your stud locations are optimally placed, before ordering.
Three stud mount needed for larger, or not centered studs.......2007-12-18
Unit comes with a two stud mount, I am mounting a 60 LG plasma and feel I need Peerless part 200-1901/2. I am finding out that part is about $45 plus shipping. Not available on Amazon and not available retail. Am in the middle of mounting the tv and now I have to wait....something I don't like to do.

said my installer. I'd add a lot cheaper too. Why on earth should a few pieces of pressed steel cost so much? Better than the Sony (or other brand-name wall mounts) and much cheaper. And by the way, get a local installer, not a chain like Firedog to do the work if you need a wall mount, even one on a chimney. $400 - $600 for a hour's work is simply robbery.
Low profile, strong, option to tilt or lock in place.......2007-12-17
This is a very good choice for a mount if you don't need the ability to swing the TV left or right.
It will handle a great deal of weight, which is not as important with LCDs, but plasmas are very heavy. In my case, I have a Samsung 52" LCD mounted to it, and I feel good knowing I am nowhere near the weight limit.
It is very low profile, which is one of the reasons you bought a flat screen. Why use a mount that holds it farther out from the wall if you don't have to?
It can be locked in five degree increments. So, if you always leave your TV at a certain angle, you can lock it in place and it won't shift over time. I have a much smaller LCD in the kitchen on a fully articulating mount, and I wish I could lock that one as it tends to sag forward over time and has to be readjusted. Very annoying.
There are large screws that have to be drilled into studs to install this. If you have a strong hammer drill, this is a good chance to use it. It cannot be installed without a good drill as the giant screws screw directly into the wall studs to keep all the weight securely mounted. Use a good edge-finding stud scanner to find the center of the studs so that you know the screws are secure.
After the mount is securely affixed to the wall, and the bracket is screwed into the back of the TV, it is a fairly simple matter to just hang the TV on the wall. Just make sure you use two people for the last step so that you can maneuver the television in place without dropping it.

The mount was very easy to install and appears to be well made. The tilt function works fine, but if you have big hands it will probably be a squeeze to get your hands between the TV and the wall to adjust it.

This tilting wall-mount was a cinch to install (just find your studs!) and is well-made. Note that it is just long enough to cover two adjacent studs, so they need to be in the right place. I wanted the smallest mount I could find so that it wouldn't be as noticeable behind the TV. On my 37in TV, I only had about a inch of horizontal adjustment once it was on the wall, so measure carefully. On a smaller TV, you'd probably have more adjustment.
The "P" in the model (ST640P) means it has normal (I assume Phillips) screws. The ST640 (no P) has tamper-proof Torx screws, but there is a wrench included in the box to use them. Mine was the ST640, and went up with no problems. You don't want to lose the special wrench, however!
Overall, I'm very happy--Price, Quality, Ship time.

Incredibly engineered product...instructions written by 9th graders who have never held a tool. They should honestly just put cartoon pictures in their manual, no words. Horrible website if you are trying to find info for spacer and bolting for newer lcd/plasma models not included in the list. I should have never opened the manual. If you know what you're doing, no problems. I give the mount a 5 out 5 and the instruction manual a 1 out of 5. They do include an excellent wall template for mounting. This was used for a 58" plasma. I love the product.

This mount looks great, feels great, is solid and well-constructed, but it had a fatal flaw which prevented me from using it:
It can only be mounted directly between two wall studs that are 16" on center.
For those of you who have older construction with studs 18" or 20" (or even 14") on center, you are out of luck.
For those of you who have the perfect place to put your television, but it isn't between the studs, you are out of luck.
I also couldn't return the product to the seller because it wasn't damaged, it just didn't fit.

Wall mount is very sturdy out of the box. The screws were neatly packaged in individualized compartments. Very easy to find the right screw even if your TV is not in the instruction book. The mount took about 30 minutes to place on the wall and put the TV on. Only trouble was with the locking screws since the TV sits so close to the wall and they give you a "L" shaped alan wrench.

All I can say is that this is a solid mount, and
I am confident using it with my tv.
It comes with lots and lots of screws and different
options as far as the company models of tv's that
it will work with (I researched this online b4 I got
it to make sure it would work with mine).
It did take me a few hours to get it mounted onto
the wall correctly in my pad, but that was not an
issue with the wall plate, but that the wall is plaster
and not very easy to work with in that the building
was built in the late teens. I was however able to
center balance it into a wood beam using the center
holes, and then just used the side holes as a back-up.
I did end up using much thicker screws than what
came with it, but this was for my peace of mind; I
am sure the one that came with it work just fine...
I mounted a 32 inch Vizio to this (L32), and used
the hex screws on the bottom to secure it, which
really is the main reason I went this this wall mount.
It was going to cost me almost the same amount
to get the (computer) security cable for it, so I was
able to accomplish two things using this wall mount.
It did take a bit of time to get the security hex
screws in and tightened up, as it has been mentioned
in other reviews, and would have been nice if it were
either longer (the hex tool) or not have such a large
bend on it, but just the same, it's not like I will be
taking the tv on and off the wall too often for any
reason anytime soon...
So - that's it for me - it works, and I am confident
that my tv is not going to fall off the wall, and I can
expand to a larger size tv if I want to w/o concerning
myself about needing to get a new wall plate, since
it would be another Vizio anyway :-)
I give it a "4" in that more colors would be nice-maybe
white, and the hex key could have been different, and
maybe a bit cheaper, but overall, a very solid mount for me!!!!

A good, unobtrusive mount........2007-05-15
I purshased this mount for a Toshiba 32HL66. I have no basis of comparison with other mounts but found this one to be effective and very solidly made. The mount has two parts: 1) a wall plate with rails and 2) two brackets designed to attach to the back of the set with hooks that match up with the rails. The wall plate has cutouts through which you can bring power and cable for a completely unobtrusive mount. You first attach the plate to the wall (4 large screws are supplied, plus anchors if going into masonry). I went into wall studs as recommended since my set weighs about 35 pounds. It was so simple to attach the brackets to the Toshiba they could have been made for it (the 4 necessary screws, along with a bunch for other brands were included - Peerless supplies 6 pages of brand info, which appears to cover most sets on the market, although according to other reviews it may not work as well for others as for a Toshiba). You then simply cable up the set and hang the set on the upper rail of the bracket. A really long hex wrench is supplied for tightening restraining screws to hold the brackets fast to the lower rail (I still had to straighten the hex wrench to reach). One note of caution, check the indents on the back of your set to be sure you have room to clear cable plugs between the set and the wall.

Good mount, but.............2007-12-23
I bought this mount for a 50" panasonic plasma. The mount was very sturdy, has enough hardware, has a nice template, but has a few other less obvious problems. It leaves minimal clearance between the TV and wall so you may have some issues trying to physically plug all the cables into your TV after you hang it on the mount. The clearance issue also doesn't allow my TV the full range of tilt. Also, the box it came in was all taped together and had obviously been opened before - and sure enough I was missing some things. Omnimount was nice enough to replace the parts, but it delayed my installation by a week.

This bracket is the way to go. There's a template included that makes it so easy, it took less than an hour to mount our new 42" Panasonic plasma perfectly. You must screw it into studs, but the bracket is designed so well, it can accomodate many different widths between them. It may cost a bit more than other mounts, but it's totally worth it.

Very happy with my purchase. i have mounted my 65" Panasonic plasma over my fireplace myself (with a few buddies) and cannot be happier. This unit is strong and easy to assemble and mount, granted you have a little bit of handy savvy. Don't pay $500.00 and up to have someone hang your plasma unless you need customized wire hiding. This mount is great. Buy it!

If you're going to spend thousands on a tv, don't skimp on the wall mount. I highly recommend this product. The directions that came with it are a little short on detail. I went to the Omnimount website and was able to download a better version. It comes with a huge variety of mounting screws for tvs. Unfortunately not for my tv though - the short ones were too short and long ones too long. I had to run to Home Depot and pick up a few which wasn't a big deal at all. The lag screws to bolt the mount to studs may be a bit overkill but better to be safe than sorry. It is IMPERATIVE that you drill into the center of the studs. I have moderate DIY skills and was able to put this up in less than an hour. Oh, and keep in mind that this will allow your tv to tilt up and down, not left and right. I mistakenly thought it was the latter but that's my fault for not reading. The tilt mount is still a good deal even if you don't need or want to tilt your set.

This was very easy to assemble. The most time consuming part was getting all the wires into the wall and connected to the TV properly. The mount itself was very easy to put together and put on the wall. And the TV does sit as flush to the wall as you can get. Our tv is a 42" LCD and fits great on the mount.

i installed this with my 42" plasma in a few hours. very easy to do, the only problem i found was the documentation didn't specify which of the 2 depth options i needed to use, but after a few measurements i found i didn't have a choice based on the tv i have.
the only thing i needed another person for was to actually life the tv onto the mount on the wall.
the one thing that's a pain is the set screws, which you have to tighten after it's on the wall with a long hex key, which due to the close proximity to the wall could only make half turns. this needs to be approached with extreme patience as it is pretty tiresome.
otherwise, very happy, and despite my wife's assuredness to the contrary, the tv is still on the wall.

I had ordered a Peerless wall mount, but they sent me a Monoprice mount. I wrote back about the error, and they told me that they were out of the Peerless mount so they substituted the Monoprice. At least give me the option before you substitute something. If someone ordered a Pioneer plasma TV and they substituted a Goldstar tube TV because they ran out of Pioneers, how would that go over? They did refund my money, though.

I bought this mount for a fairly heavy (@100lbs.) Mitsubishi 46231 LCD screen - this mount could easily take twice the weight. The mount is well engineered with plenty of adjustment for wall stud spacing. I left plenty of cable length so we could just pick up the screen, hang the set, and tuck the excess cable in the wall. Worked like a charm due to the simple design of the mount. Two different depth mounting bars are included - if using the smaller bars to keep the set closest to the wall (about 1 inch), and your outlet is directly behind the panel, you will need a wall hugger plug adapter. I would buy this product again.

Great product, great price .......2007-10-01
This mount was ALOT less expensive than many mounts found in department or electronic name brand stores. It arrived quicker than we expected and it was easy to install and has been holding up excellently for over 6 weeks now. I highly recommend this mount. We used it to mount a 42" Sharp Aquos HDTV, and it was great. You cannot go wrong, especially with the mere $95 price tag.

The mount needed adjusting to mount properly on the wall. There was too much play on one side which caused it to hang lower on that side. The installer made adjustments to make it work.

This mount works as advertised. The only problem I had was that the mounting holes did not allow me to bolt the unit directly into 16" spaced studs so I had to use a drywall anchor. While the holes would allow such placement, the unit itself would have been offset from the center of the wall to accomplish this. A minor complaint, surely but enough to warrant one less star.
Easy to install on brick wall.......2007-06-23
The most important thing I can say is it was easy to install. We were able to install it on our brick wall, I had truoble finding a wall mount that could do that so we were happy when we found this one. I have to add that we have a 50" magnavox and there were not instructions on how to install this particular TV size and brand, but it was so easy we were able to improvise and use it on our set anyways. Also another good thing about this is that it installs onto the wall plate in seconds, that was very helpful as the TV weighs 120 lbs and it was just my husband and I lifting it onto the plate that goes on the wall.
