RCA 111 is much better.......2007-10-22
I got two Terks, the 525 and the RCA 111 and tested all 4 for number of signals and for signal strength. The cheapest (111) came out head and shoulders above the rest. Not only did it receive 3 more channels than any other, but the signals were stronger. Plus, I save on electricity because I don't have to plug in the 111. I returned the 525 with a big grin on my face. $5 antenna and great signals from 25-30 miles!
Very Good Antenna.......2007-10-10
I recently installed one of these on our new HDTV. The reception is excellent and the amplifier is great for boosting the signal from otherwise unwatchable stations.
Works well.......2007-10-10
As the specification says 45gb gain is really works for me. Supplied cable is bit short but if you can manage it, go for it. LED indicator is bit bright. Very little noise. HD is great and works on my TV.
This IS the OTA antenna to buy.......2007-08-22
The ANT525 is the perfect OTA antenna for me. I had tried 3 others amplified antennas, including the highly rated Terk HDTVa, prior to buying this one and the ANT525 worked the best. I placed each antenna in the same location and the ANT525 increased my signal strength by 10-15 points over the other antennas. The ANT525 is very solid and stable. I'm using antenna for UHF only so I removed the VHF dipoles which really increased the aesthetics of the antenna.
I highly recommend the ANT525. I wish I would've started with this one and I would've saved a lot of time returning inferior antennas.
Great reception. SHORT CORD.......2007-08-11
This is a solid product. Great reception with it good for me with the channels that have Football! I would have to agree about the short cord though I have a table close that I put the antenna on and it works fine for me. It would have gotten 5 stars with the cord length up more. I mean come on its regular TV what more can you ask for.

WOULD ONLY BUY FOR CITY USE.......2007-12-06
I bought this because of the larger amplifier as
I live out in the country. I could only get one station
and only in black and white. The Tv stations are 40
miles from here. I returned the item.
Fragile.......2007-11-06
Works well like most people say here, but the rabbit ears are quite weak, even if you are careful with your electronics equipment. RCA does have a 1 year warranty, which I am using now to replace my broken antenna.
Gets all the important channels at an excellent quality........2007-08-17
I live in Palo Alto, CA, ~30 miles from the stations. With this antenna I receive all the important channels: FOX, ABC, NBC, CBS, etc... in 1080i without any dropouts, the quality is amazing! I keep the rabbit ears tucked in because I'm not interested in the VHF stations, so the styling looks very modern. All in all I get ~45 digital stations and 15 analog. I can get more if I mess with position, but it's perfect as it is now.
This is my first antenna, I cannot compare it to any other, but I'm very satisfied.
Stylish and powerful.......2007-01-19
I tried several different antennas in my apartment and this one worked the best. It even beat out the highly touted Terk antenna (the one that looks like a saw blade). I'm not sure if this means anything, but it claims to amplify the signal by 25db compared to most others that are in the 10-15db range. I liked it, but try it out first before you buy it.
Stylish but Weak.......2006-03-31
I was able to compare this amplified antenna directly with the Zenith UN-amplifiend indoor HDTV antenna. The Zenith was at least 25% to 50% better at pulling in the weaker stations.
This RCA antenna LOOKS very nice with its wavy styling. But then you have to pull out its rabbit ears and set them askew to pick up a decent signal! That kills the styling advantage. And its soooo touchy about its positioning to pick up weaker stations, you practically have to do a voodoo dance and wave a plucked chicken around the TV to get some stations that the Zenith pulls in with barely any trouble.
So don't let your wife talk you into getting the RCA for its looks. Buy the Zenith instead!

rca tv antenna.......2007-06-23
the reception on this item is lousy. i even put it outside and ran the cable through a window.
originally i ran bare copper wire outside and along the eaves. that worked much better than the antenna.
i really wish they could make one that actually works indoors, but
i guess they can't
my tv is in a workshop which is a converted 1 car garage
Desent Tv Antenna.......2007-06-12
It's pretty good for the money I paid. Not that bad of an Antenna for tv,sometimes I don't get good picture anyway on my set.I should get a new TV set soon the one I have is good but something new is just around the corner. The Antenna gives me a good view of what I'm watching daily. And that's all.I tried diffrent Antenna's nothing worked that well, but this Antenna does the trick until I buy a new TV set later, not a bad product though,It worth the money that I'd paid.

Crisp & Clear.......2007-07-30
I'm actually quite lucky that my house resides in a pretty nice spot for all the local channels. I can get all but one station with this antenna, and it's a station that I really didn't even know was out there. I've had this antenna for over 6 months now, and I love it! I use it in conjunction with my DishNetwork equipment, and everything works smoothly.
Very poor signal reception.......2007-07-29
I bought this antenna hoping to watch local HD broadcast in my area. It turned out that the antenna didn't help at all. The HD signals received keeps fading in and out so bad that I couldn't watching anything more than 1 minute without loosing the signal.
Not that great...at all........2007-07-20
I bought this antenna because I cannot get local channels through my satellite tv provider. I don't even get all of my local channels and the ones that I do get look terrible! I've had better luck with just regular "rabbit ears". I live 15 miles from the broadcast stations.
Stop wasting your money on cable.......2007-04-02
With the cost of basic cable going through the roof, this is a great investment especially if you have an HDTV. Drop 50 bucks or so on this, pick up HD signals for your local channels and some other ones and pay no cable bill.
If you need movie channels, ESPN, Comedy Central, Discovery or the few other channels that one might actually watch on cable, this antenna WILL NOT get those. If you just want to get the major networks and keep $600 - $1200 in your pocket each year instead of giving it to Comcast then get one of these and buy or rent a DVD if there is a movie you really want to see. The picture with this is every bit as good as what you see on the TVs in the stores with the signs next to them telling you you need to get cable and/or DirecTV.
A great complement to any HDTV.......2007-02-23
Upon careful consideration about the thought of paying my cable company an additional 15 dollars a month over the already inflated rate when I would really only take advantage of say, two, channels offered in HD that wouldn't otherwise be free, this alternative is an absolute gift. The antenna itself is small to the point that it can be placed on virtually any flat surface more than 4 inches wide, although when I was fiddling with the dipoles swinging them forward did cause the antenna to become top-heavy, which may result in it tipping over. Setup is effortless - plug the coaxial cable into the television, connect the power supply, and start watching free HD broadcasts. The only complaint I have with setup is the fact that the coaxial cord attached to the device is on the short side, and is planted in the back. That is, it cannot be removed and replaced with a longer coaxial should the need arise. But, as long as the antenna is placed within 6 feet of the television there really is no problem. This is a stylish and very functional addition to any HD capable television at an affordable price.

Customer Reviews:
don't waste your money.......2007-09-23
This antenna will pick up the signals but so does my broken antenna. The quality is not good and you have to set a different position for every channel. If you want to watch more than one channel, don't get this. It will drive you nuts.
Junk!!.......2007-06-09
Don't waste your time or money with this. As everyone else has already stated, you get better signal with old rabbit ears.
Works OK.......2007-04-16
This antenna works OK.
We actually have it on two TVs.
The older one has one of the arials broken off which is the disadvantabe of rabbit ears.
But even the broken one works ok.
The strange thing about this 'amplified' antenna is that if you unplug it the reception does not change.
Try this, you may want to take it back if this is disappointing.
One nice thing about it is the impedence adjustment knobs on the top. As i remember from my radio days, these are called a trans-match.
More than it seems.......2007-03-23
This inexpensive feature packed antenna is a true value for the student in any major metro area.
Before you purchase any antenna, evaluate your needs. A visit to a website devoted to antennae showed me the station numbers, distance, and direction of all the HD signals in my area. After seeing that all the stations were higher than 13, I learned that I would need an antenna designed for UHF signals. The old VHF or "Rabbit Ear" style antenna would do me no good. I thought that I would have to drop some change for this other type of antenna, but I learned that most inexpensive antennae include the ability to receive UHF signals. I also learned that most of the antennae marketed for HDTV are nothing more then just marketing in expensive packaging. You can receive an HD signal on ANY antenna of the correct band. The RCA 1250 is an antenna that receives both VHF and UHF signals. Besides both types of reception, there is also up to 45 dB of gain "amplification" for weak signals. One of the best features is that you can increase the amplification of each type of signal independently.
Since the HD signals in my area were all UHF, that left me with half of an antenna unused. It then dawned on me that I could use the VHF side for radio reception, since most radio signals fall within the VHF range. Also I have a nice 75-ohm connection for an external FM antenna on my Yamaha 7.1 tuner for quality radio.
Conclusion:
If you are looking for a small antenna for multi-tasking, this antenna is for you. If you need to watch FREE HDTV, this antenna is for you. If you need to use both bands VHF(2-13) and UHF (14-99) to watch regular TV, this antenna is for you. If you feel the need to drop more money than needed to justify your big plasma TV purchase, this antenna is NOT for you. Go buy the same antenna in a flashier package or one of those futuristic directional space beaming looking things.
Pros: Price, Size, Color (Black), Performance, Flexibility, Etc (which means I can't think of more, If I could, I would list `em)
Cons: None
Not worth the money you pay for it........2007-03-16
1) You get only 4-5 channels and that too of not great quality reception.
2) UHF/VHF amplication also does not work well.
3) It is as good as a rabit ear antenna.

Customer Reviews:
This is a terrible product.......2007-10-17
Plain and Simple: This product is terrible if you live in an apartment building in a city. I bought $5 rabbit ears that worked 100 times better.
Review of RCA ANT501 UHF/VHF/FM Amplified Indoor Antenna.......2007-02-13
Conventional rabbit ears with aluminum foil worked better! Save your money!
Save your money..........2007-02-05
I have a RCA unapmlified version of this antenna that does a better job. What a waste.
marginal improvement over ANT401.......2006-09-02
This is basically no different than the 401, save for the clock. While the product is advertised as having 46 dB of gain, the box says 30 dB. But it works, and since I'm in an odd location, I can get more channels than I could with the 401. Plus, hard to find a decorative clock for 8 dollars (the difference between 401 and 501)
No good for HDTV.......2006-01-14
The wire loop I was using for my HUMAX brought in a stronger and more consistant signal than this antenna. I would not recomend it for use with HDTV OTA tuners.

Customer Reviews:
Good UHF reception, horrible VHF reception.......2006-12-31
I am about forty miles from the broadcast towers. The ANT301's UHF reception was very good but VHF reception is poor. It picked up one of the five VHF channels in the area. I disconnected the power and there was no difference in signal strength so it is no more "amplified" than a normal pair of rabbit ears. If you are looking for an inexpensive amplified antenna, the RCA ANT1250 is a better choice.
Great Value.......2006-10-01
I was trying to get local HD channels added to my dish network setup. I tried a directional NONamplified antenna and after 30 minutes of fiddling for the best angle, these are the signal strength numbers I got:
Fox - 68%
CBS - 63%
ABC - 59%
Fox was the only one that was watchable at this strength. I bought the ANT301 and plugged it in and after about 5 minutes of fiddling, here are the new strengths:
Fox - 78%
CBS - 83%
ABC - 73%
All three channels are watchable now with no issues. I would recommend this antenna if you are just within range of your HD channels and want to get a better signal. It wont work miracles, but it does improve the signal over nonamplified antennas.
No better reception than a coax cable.......2006-08-24
I decided to get rid of cable (too expensive). Living in downtown Milwaukee, I should probably get many channels with an antenna )(one would think). Unfortunately, I didn' have one. So, at first, I hooked up a two three foot coax cables to a splitter (to create a dipole type thing) and I hooked this up to the TV. I got okay reception from this. Time to pick up an antenna.
I just bought the 301 from best buy. The sales dude said it was the best on the market and he had no complaints or returns. Hooked it up in place of my coax cable contraption. It faired just as well, if not worse.
I am returning the antenna and getting the 25 channel cable plan for $13.00 (the one they don't tell you about).
Good, but probably could be better........2006-08-21
With this antenna, hi definition channels look really good. I disagree with the other reviews where they say that it works better without being plugged in. When I unplug it, my signal immediately dies. Another problem I found is that sometimes when I walk by the antenna, the picture on the tv can skip, this also happens on windy days. Also, the unit doesnt come with any instructions, which was disappointing. If you do buy this antenna, you have to run the "Channel search" feature on your TV or else you will get NOTHING, I was forced to figure that out by myself. For $15 with free shipping, this has been a worthy purchase.
Over-Priced.......2006-03-19
I bought this to improve the reception of the ANT110, a much cheaper model that had good reception overall but I wanted much more. I spent $30 for the ANT301 and overall it was not worth the cost. I plugged in the amplifier and it actually made things WORSE. But when I removed the amplifier I got much better reception, but the $20 ANT103 is the same thing with no amplifier so it has similar reception. If your looking for great reception go with Trek's version but if you are looking for decent reception go with the ANT103. For this, avoid it, it's overpriced and the amplifier is worse than a push-pin.
