Almost great TV mount.......2007-12-26
First, let me start by saying I am blown away by how quickly Amazon filled this order. I placed the order on a Sunday, taking advantage of the standard (free) shipping, and was quite surprised when I received the order the following Wednesday.
The TV mount worked exactly as described, and came with an assortment of screws and other mounting hardware to do the trick. No extra trips to the hardware store - almost. Much to my chagrin, I discovered that when trying to hang my LG flat panel on the wall, this mount didn't extend out enough to allow the AC power cord to plug into the outlet I had located behind the TV. The TV plug projected from the wall about an 1 1/2", requiring me to go to the Depot to purchase a recessed wall outlet, like the ones used for hanging clocks.
My only other comment is that the set screws used to secure the TV to the mount are accessed using a very long allen wrench, and in order to turn them, you must crouch down below the hanging TV and carefully turn the wrench. This isn't terrible, but when the mount is flush against the wall, like this one is designed to fit, you are only able to get 3/4 of a turn of the wrench before you must take it out, and carefully reposition it in the allen screw. The whole process of securing the TV took about 5 minutes.
Have to say, all in all - this mount cost about half what a comparable mount at Best Buy would have cost - and does the trick nicely.
Excellent Wall Mount for the Money.......2007-12-18
I'm using this wall mount with a 37" Olevia LCD TV. It was very easy to install, and the TV is easy to mount and dismount (when needed). Just make sure you screw into wall studs, and not just drywall.

Seems very well built, and it comes with a ton of extra screws. The only problem is that I can't reach the "safety" screws on the bottom. I am not really concerned because even without those screws it would be just about impossible to knock the TV off the wall. It's working great with our Sharp Aquos 46" LCD.

I bought this wall mount for a 32" Vizio. I had to make some modification with the hardware, which wasn't a big deal, and then it went up in about 30 minutes. I took back the Vizio and bought a Toshiba from Amazon, and it went up even more easily. The installation seems very stable.

Sturdy but you may need special screws for your TV.......2007-12-20
The stand is sturdy and comes with quite an assormant of screws for mounting different televisions. I was using it for a Sony W3000 52" TV. It had my TV listed in a book that said which of the sets of screws to use. I tried these and they were too long. It had another set that was the same diameter but they were too short. After reading the manual that came with my telelvision I found out that I needed an inbetween size that did not come with the mount kit. After going to 2 Home Depot's and a Lowes I was unable to find the right size bolts, so I ended up buying a set of washers, and had to use 3 of them for each of the bolts that came with mount kit so that I could tighten them with out poking a hole through the front of the TV. I was actually also surprised with Sony for not including the mounting bolts for their with tv.

This mounting system is very strong, well made, and the tilt mechanism works great. The locking screws that secure the TV arm brackets to the mounting plate add an extra level of security.
However, it's a real shame the wall bracket isn't just a couple of inches wider, so it would span 3 studs (on 16" centers). I should have read reviewer G. Knight's comments about this, before ordering.
I should have checked my stud locations before ordering this mount. I discovered that the centerline of my optimal TV location on my wall, was almost directly over a stud. So, I had to shift the mount left to the farthest recommended holes. After mounting the TV on the bracket and shifting it to the right to compensate, the wall bracket flexes by an undesireable amount.
If you are going to mount a 50" or larger TV on your wall, and want a precise placement, I recommend that you avoid this model and go with the ST670 series instead.
On the other hand, if you have a wide latitude for positioning your TV on the wall, or are lucky enough so that your TV's centerline lies directly between two studs (plus or minus 2"), this mount will do the job very nicely. My advice is, determine where you want your TV then check to see if your stud locations are optimally placed, before ordering.
Three stud mount needed for larger, or not centered studs.......2007-12-18
Unit comes with a two stud mount, I am mounting a 60 LG plasma and feel I need Peerless part 200-1901/2. I am finding out that part is about $45 plus shipping. Not available on Amazon and not available retail. Am in the middle of mounting the tv and now I have to wait....something I don't like to do.

said my installer. I'd add a lot cheaper too. Why on earth should a few pieces of pressed steel cost so much? Better than the Sony (or other brand-name wall mounts) and much cheaper. And by the way, get a local installer, not a chain like Firedog to do the work if you need a wall mount, even one on a chimney. $400 - $600 for a hour's work is simply robbery.
Low profile, strong, option to tilt or lock in place.......2007-12-17
This is a very good choice for a mount if you don't need the ability to swing the TV left or right.
It will handle a great deal of weight, which is not as important with LCDs, but plasmas are very heavy. In my case, I have a Samsung 52" LCD mounted to it, and I feel good knowing I am nowhere near the weight limit.
It is very low profile, which is one of the reasons you bought a flat screen. Why use a mount that holds it farther out from the wall if you don't have to?
It can be locked in five degree increments. So, if you always leave your TV at a certain angle, you can lock it in place and it won't shift over time. I have a much smaller LCD in the kitchen on a fully articulating mount, and I wish I could lock that one as it tends to sag forward over time and has to be readjusted. Very annoying.
There are large screws that have to be drilled into studs to install this. If you have a strong hammer drill, this is a good chance to use it. It cannot be installed without a good drill as the giant screws screw directly into the wall studs to keep all the weight securely mounted. Use a good edge-finding stud scanner to find the center of the studs so that you know the screws are secure.
After the mount is securely affixed to the wall, and the bracket is screwed into the back of the TV, it is a fairly simple matter to just hang the TV on the wall. Just make sure you use two people for the last step so that you can maneuver the television in place without dropping it.

purchased this wall mount for my sony 46" bravia hidef tv paid about 50% less than in the store that i bought my tv from came in just a few days or so free shipping mounted very easy directions were great no problem at all i got the bracket that comes closest to the wall there is also a tilt bracket if you so wish had a little problem before i got it but great customer service dept cleared everything up for me. just make sure this bracket fits your tv once it's up sturdy as can be slides very easy to make sure you get it in the right place you want for the money can't be beat

Slim Sturdy and Easy to Install.......2007-12-20
I bought this wall mount for my Samsung 46" LCD. Installation was a breeze. The kit comes with an assortment of screws and a look-up chart so you can cross refernce TV make and model with cortrect screw length. The wall mount was very easy to install. Took approx 20 mins for the wall mount to be secured to the wall studs + 5 mins to attach bars to the TV + 1 min to hang it up. Add another 5 mins to tighten all reamining safety screws.
One word of caution: I strongly suggest you carefully mark the location of the the wall studs. In my case, I wanted to hang the TV in the center of the wall but the stud positioins were not in my favor. As such, I had no choice but to install slightly to the left. The problem is you only have limited room to slide the TV on the maunt/rail to the right before you reach the end of the mount. If your TV allows it, go for the next size up in wall mount. That way, you have more room to sldie the TV left/right to center it in the wall.
Easy-To-Install, Low-Profile, Flat-Panel Mount.......2007-12-17
Used this mount to hang my new 42" Panasonic TH-42PZ77U on the wall. Couldn't have made a better choice. I will start by saying that the packaging/instructions are written by people who speak English, and are very easy to follow. More importantly, this flat-mount provides a very low-profile mount to the wall. This is critical to creating a clean, professional look. This mount trades a "tilting" feature for it's good looks. Keep in mind that this requires you to mount it correctly the first time. The simple answer to this is to resist the urge to mount it too high... Don't do it! 5-6' high looks great when you walk in the room, but as soon as you sit down to watch TV, you'll regret it. Keep the center 4-6" above eye level when seated. Also, Amazon's "Free Super Saver Shipping" turned out to be Overnight! Kudos to the shipping dept. Good Luck to you.

Great Mount for Optoma HD70.......2007-12-15
I used the Atdec Telehook Universal Projector Flush Mount to mount my Optoma HD70. I did have to buy toggle tolts to secure the mount where it needed to be, but I knew that before I bought it. The whole mount took me a couple of hours to mount. Most of that time was due to having to find the exact location it needed to be mounted for my projector to work in the viewing room.
A bargain. And it came with the screws........2007-11-03
First, this mount works fine at less than half the price of most others. It is a bit tricky to adjust, but how often must you do that? It's very adaptable, with many different projector mounting screws that should cover any projector. Despite what previous reviewers have said, it came with two #14 hex head screws and washers for hanging the mount either directly from a joist or (using plastic plugs) simply from wallboard. I would not trust wallboard mounting myself, but it would probably work with a lightweight projector.
The projector mounting screws come in two bags. The smallest (one length of 2.5 and two lengths of 3.0 metric screws) are in one bag which I failed to notice at first. Since I needed the 2.5Ms for my Optoma projector, I picked up some at the local hardware store -- only to later find the supplied ones in the separate bag. All the other projector mounting screws are in a large plastic bag with separate compartments for each size. Unfortunately the compartments are labeled with letters, and the instruction leaflet only refers to them by size. Once I discovered the three smallest screw sizes in their separate bag, I then noticed that the other screws were listed in the parts inventory in the same order as the letters on the compartments. Knowing that, you can easily figure out which screws are which, but it would have been much better to show the letters with the sizes in the instruction leaflet.
Overall, I am quite pleased with this mount. And being a universal mount should make it simple when I upgrade to an HD projector.
Solid but not quite solid enough.......2007-10-08
I purchased this item for my Sanyo PLV-Z5. I previously (in my former house) had a Chief mount. Chief mounts cost twice as much as this one. When I opened the package for this, I was pleasantly surprised; very dense, high quality metal, nice solid customization, easy to use screws, etc. But once I actually got it up on the ceiling, I was disappointed to discover it does not have a full range of tilt settings, but more critically, it is very difficult to have perfectly steady and secure. It took me an hour to get it even with the screen and I'm still (months later) tinkering with it to get the screws as tight as I can. It's hard to describe what I'm talking about without having one, but basically, the screws that you tighten to make sure the projector doesn't shake at all are not tough/large/secure enough to keep it from shaking. I'm not talking the San Andreas fault here. It's probably not perceptible to someone not familiar with home theater stuff. But I notice.
On the whole though, for half the price of chief you get something ALMOST (not quite) as good. Pretty good deal and product.

Very Good Monitor Arm.......2007-12-25
I'm using this Ergotron LX Desk Mount Arm to hold up my Sony SDM-X82 18.1" LCD monitor. It works very well. I don't have any problems with it, but here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Make no assumptions about where you will mount this arm. For both this and my nearly identical notebook arm, I glanced at the desks where they'd be used, saw they had edges, and assumed all was well. Well, I was wrong. There were supporting panels below the desk that interfered with proper mounting. With some finagling, I managed to get both arms mounted. But, I highly recommend you crawl under your desk and make some measurements before buying this. If you intend to clamp it to an edge, it looks like you'll need (optimally) about 3-1/2" of lip (the desktop should be between 1/2" and 1-7/8" thick). If you intend to mount it through a hole on the desk, make sure you have access to the underside of the desk where that hole is (or will be -- I ended up drilling a 1/2" hole through my desktop for this option).
- You WILL have to adjust the various tensioning screws. If you don't, the thing will probably droop down to your desktop at the first opportunity.
- Before buying, go to Ergotron's site, look up the product, and then go to Support Center | Display Compatibility. There, you'll be able to see if the arm can support your monitor. Most LCDs less than 24" are probably good out of the box. But, bigger LCDs will probably require an additional 200x200 VESA mount (or maybe even a higher capacity arm).
I'm very happy with this arm. Outside of what I noted (and those are my problems and not problems with the product), it works well and looks good. I rate it a Very Good 4 stars out of 5.

I'm using a 22" LCD monitor(CHIMEI) and the mount has no problem holding my monitor. I change the position of my monitor quiet often and the joint of the mount has no sign of getting loose. I recommend it!

Great product, however the packing of the product needs some help. Out of three the three products I got two had cracks in it from the way it was packed, it needs a better packing method between the base of the main shaft where the foot is and the main control arm. Amazon has great customer service. I have not yet had a problem working with Amazon and have done business with them on several occasions. Thanks for the superior customer service.

i could say that i am more than satisfied with this product. it's material and quality are excellent. there is nothing less than it is described on the ergotron site. in fact the package contains "more" than i have expected. it contains all the accesories and tools that ate needed to mount yor monitor on the arm.(2 sizes of vesa mount and 2 types of desk mount[on the side of the desk or through a hole]). some may say that it is expensive but i dont believe that i could find something cheaper but that good.

I just want to warn people that if they have a large monitor that they may need an adapter plate (bracket) that is NOT included with the arm.
I have a Samsung SyncMaster 245bw that needs the wide bracket. The Ergotron company's suggested retail price is $50. Amazon charges $43 (if this is even the correct part) "Wall Mount Bracket Kit" found at the link "Other products by Ergotron"
...or if you have a few tools, you can do what I did and make your own out of a piece of scrap metal for $1.

I just mounted a 30" Toshiba LCD to a wood stud using this mount. It took about an hour, but I'm usually slow and methodical. Its rock solid. I would buy this product again.

Used to mount a 37" Syntax Olivea. Excellent price considering the WM30 wall mount bracket that the manufacturer sells was $90 plus shipping. Installation was a snap...had it up in less than 20 minutes including locating stud, leveling, drilling and mounting. Screws are very long & thick so make sure you find the exact center of the stud and use a drill with enough power to drive such a long screw. Will be buying 2 more for my other flat panels.

Outstanding for the money........2007-07-22
I needed a VESA 100x200 mount for my Samsung LN-T2342H 23" LCD HTDV. This was the cheapest I could find for that VESA standard. Do not let the price fool you. The build quality is very nice on this unit. Way better than those "star" brackets. Installation was no problem. Hardest part was finding all my lines. The mounting hardware is top notch. They give you heavy duty wood screws to go into the studs and anchors if no studs. Over 2" screw I think. I had a an issue, based on where I wanted my TV, that only allowed me to use the upper-right most mounting hole for the stud. I proceeded to use the 3 anchors and the supplied screws to mount 2 in the center and one one the left. I then found a replacement wood screw for the stud. Size size. Screwed that in and that baby ain't movin' The tilt function is very nice however the saftey screws are a pain to tighten. No biggie though. Just location sucks. I do wish the wall bracket was a tad wider to allow more left/right movement. The saftey screw issue with a "want" for a wider bracket resulted in a 4 star. Really is 4.5.

I did a lot of research on LCD TV mounts before I bought this one. I looked at the ones in the stores like Best Buy. But they were so expensive and I just could not justify them for use with my 32" 39Lb TV. So I decided on this one and I'm glad I did. This one has an extension arm but you can also use it without the arm. I liked that flexibility. Also even without the extension this mount provides side to side swing as well as tilt. Also it provides rotation which makes mounintg it even easier. I spent a lot of time making sure that the 2 mounting holes were perfectly virtical but it is not critical because you can rotate the TV to a perfect level position even if your 2 mounting holes are not perfectly virtical. All of the hardware for mouning was included and I even had hardware left over becasue the 100mm hole pattern on the mounting plate matched the pattern on my TV.

I have three 22'' monitors which I use. 2 for me on the Ergotron, and 1 other that sits on its stock base for clients to watch on the other side of the desk (it is mirrored one of my two monitors).
That said, the setup is both very aesthetic and incredibly functional. I would recommend these stands to any business professionals who are looking to get more visual desktop space without sacrificing looks.

I use this mount with a Macbook on one arm and a 20 inch HP monitor on the other arm in my home office. Works wonderfully, you can set the tension on the arms to hold the monitor at the correct height, but yet swing it aside easily if needed. Because of the size of my desk, I only use one section of the arm. It feels very stable and sturdy. It's heavy duty, like something you'd find in a professional office. It is a bit pricey; depending on what you're trying to do you could buy two separate monitor stands for less money.
Simple Elegant.......2007-08-23
I used a MoView arm before... This product is patently better than the other. The arms have amazing range and strength. I am actually holding two 22" monitors with these arms (albeit the monitors are amazingly light). There is plenty of range to have larger monitors still presented side-by-side. The resistance of the arm is adjusted by an Allen wrench and definitely had more weight range than what I am putting on them. I keep my monitors in landscape mode though and haven't really tested their ability to rotate.
I found the product just ingenious for the smallest details. The arms hold your cables so that they can be kept neat. The product came with laptop accessories in the event I wanted to use a one monitor, one laptop configuration, and it had plenty of supplies (screws, velcro, etc)

I bought this arm to place a display on a wall near my informal dinner table. I wanted to use this display to show slide shows of my family photos, video streaming from Netflix, and occasional web browsing in the kitchen. I drilled a hole in the wall and connected the display to an old computer on a shelf in the bathroom on the other side. I paid extra for this arm because of the height adjustable feature. I'm glad I did because it makes the display a lot more useful. I could extend and lower it to almost desktop height and use the dining table for my bluetooth keyboard/mouse. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to browse without sitting on the table

I bought a $30 LCD wall mount on eBay for my HP W2007. It worked, but it was only limited to swivel and tilt movement. After a couple of weeks, the low price started revealing itself. I had to readjust the tension in the tilt every time I adjusted it. Some days I would've like to move the height of the monitor, but I couldn't.
I just had to buy something with more features and better quality.
I was going to buy this Lx Wall Mount Arm originally, but I thought I didn't need all of its features. I was wrong. The height feature is very useful, and I love the landscape and portrait modes.
Installation was very easy. I don't think an instruction manual was necessary. I bought the Wall Mount Bracket Kit because its larger surface area allows the weight to be distributed.
I have my Wall Mount Arm mounted on drywall using 75lb drywall anchors. I needed #8 washers because the screws needed for the drywall anchors are too small for the large mounting holes.
My only gripe with this product is the cable organizers. I personally wouldn't use it because it bends the cables a bit more than I would like them to bend. Additionally, I don't like the cheap plastic that holds them within the arm.
This is a great product and should be your only choice of Wall Mound Arm for your LCD monitor if you plan to spend under $200.
Don't go cheap, you'll regret it!

After researching many types and prices, I kept comming back to this one. I'm using it with a Dell 2005FPW 20.1" monitor that weighs 12 lbs. without the stand. It has the VESA mount and it plugged right onto this arm, no problem! I mounted the arm on a mobile cart that allows me to move the monitor to several locations and the arm allows the monitor to be placed in several different positions with no effort! I'm extreamly happy. Delivery was a blink of an eye! It came so fast I wasn't even expecting it, and when it arrived on my doorstep, I wondered what it was!!! Five stars on product and purchase! *****

Ergotron seems to make very high quality products. They aren't the cheapest, but this product seems very well engineered and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a fully articulating wall mounted monitor solution. I'm using it with a 20" LCD, and it works and looks great.
