Great For Xbox 360!.......2007-05-21
I got this switch for connecting a Xbox 360 and a computer to a 19" Sony LCD. The results are awesome. My computer looks blurry but I blame that on the cheap VGA cable I bought and not on this switch. Super easy to set up and use. I highly recommended it.

I ordered one of the mechanical sVGA switches so I can connect 2 sVGA 1080p sources into my Westinghouse LVM-37W3 1080p LCD, one of the source being a XBOX360. The results were lousy with wrong contrast and dynamic range. This active switch was perfect at 1080p with both my XBOX360 and my DELL XPS's X800XT sVGA output into the Westy LVM-37W3.

The Video Auto Switch, VS-201, is an automatic video switch ideal for monitors using analog signals. The VS-201 boosts signals for long distance transmission up to 210 feet. A slide switch sets the priority of incoming video signals for display and the VS-201 automatically selects the proper input signal to its output port. Both features make the VS-201 an excellent choice for educational environments.

Works but almost impossible to cable.......2004-08-26
Functionally it works fine, but for some brain damaged reason
the designers made the two video inputs be HD15 male instead of
HD15 female like they should be. This means the standard SVGA
male to male cable you already have with your computer won't
work! You can buy an SVGA extension cable ($40 for a 6ft cable)
that is male to female, but remember you will need one for each
input, so you have already paid more than for the switch! Worse,
the extension cables come with the two protruding nuts on the
female end, but the box has two protruding nuts on the male input
so you will need to 'modify' your extension cable by hack-sawing
off the nuts, which means there is no way to screw the conectors
in. All and all a HORRIBLE design, and I don't recommend anyone
buy it. I sure wish someone else made a competeing product with
the right gender connectors, but I can't seem to find one.

The signal boost obtained by using the VS-134 allows you to not only split the signal but to extend the distance so that you can send the signal to about 210 feet. This is no mean feat, your average VGA card, over a standard VGA cable, sends a clear VGA signal approximately 25 feet. This makes public broadcasts from a single computer very feasible. If you want to display the same information on many monitors at once, such as in a classroom environment, or at a demonstration, this product performs incredibly well. Bandwidth is the term that is used to describe the signal capacity of these units. In general, bandwidth is directly proportional to the amount of data transmitted per unit of time.
