Impressed all over, then a fix.......2007-12-18
Big fan of this phone. Range is very good, and it does not interfere or get interference from wireless Internet and cell phones. Transferring calls to and from the headset is easy. The charging base for the headset and handset does not need to be plugged in to an outlet near a jack; the jack is a separate small wall-base which can be placed quite far away, that part needs to be near a jack and outlet; but can be behind furniture or tucked away.
The talking piece of the headset stopped working after 4 months, but it was replaced by RCA for free via the mail, under the 2 year warranty, which was really cool. There were no questions asked. Considering that I live with the headset on as I go about the house and care for the kids, the cleaning, and the cooking, we missed not having the thing around for the three weeks it was away.
We shall see how long the speaking piece holds up this time around. It still doesn't lower my rating much because the structure of the phone in general seems to be strong, and I feel the speaker stopping to work must have been a fluke. I will update if we continue to have problems.
Extremely useable, good sound, good battery.......2007-12-05
I purchased this phone two months ago, because my cats destroy wired headsets, and the constant removal and replacement of a wired headset jack (to avoid cat-caused destruction) had damaged my cordless phone. While more expensive than a cordless phone + wired headset, this phone is also much easier to use. I had serious problems with loud interference when I first set up the phone, but after I moved around the base (a separate unit not shown in the image), and used it a few times, the sound quality has been excellent. The battery is good; I've left the headset off of the base for 48 + hours with over 5 hours of talking, and have not yet had the charge run out on me. I am in a quiet household setting, and can hear the people I am talking to. People on the other end of the line sometimes get mad at me, simply because the boom mic pics up on cooking and dishes washing and other environment noises, so this would not be a good choice for a noisy environment.

I would purchase this unit again. The headset is great to use. No wires at all. For old people the size of the phone itself and its buttons can be an issue. The main drawback has been an echo that occurs with the handset maybe one out of ten calls. The echo is not consistent with any particular landline or cell phone number. All in all-- A winner

I like the idea of being wireless but am not real happy with the headset. It seems rather flimsy and the mouthpiece slips around a lot. I have used it very little since I got it and went back to my ancient Radio Shack model.
Good Enough to Buy a Second Phone.......2007-11-01
I tried this phone after becoming unhappy with prior purchases of Blue Parrott, Uniden, Plantronics and GN Netcom headset devices. I have been using it for six months now, and like it well enough to have purchased a second phone today for use at another office.
