Logitech Z-5500 THX-Certified 505-Watt 5.1 Digital Surround Sound Speaker System Upon doing some researching for my next computer speakers, I stumbled upon these speakers from Logitech. All of the reviews gave these speakers kudos. After purchasing them and using them, the only negative I have encountered is the sometimes poor sound from the center channel, like it can't handle the output or something. The bass is great from the subwoofer. Overall, I would give this speaker set an 8 out of 10

The Last Set of PC Speakers I'll Ever Need.......2007-12-24

If you've ever taken the time to look into what exactly comprises a "THX" certification, then you know that most PC speaker systems wouldn't pass the test. The Z5500 system is THX certified, and there-in lies their excellence. The power and sound clarity of these speakers is phenomenal, but not without a little bit of tuning and setup. The speakers can play at ear-bleeding levels and the subwoofer is huge enough to have neighbors knocking on your door to cool-it. That being said, the beauty is that they sound good at low levels too. I use my setup mainly for mixing down 5.1 surround music. I sit in the "sweet spot" and close my eyes and these speakers transport me to a world of aural heaven. The bass is thunderous, the midrange is stout and the highs are superb. I can conifidently mix and make EQ adjustments without worry that the end result will sound perfect on my theatre system's speakers. I would have gladly paid double what I paid for these, to achieve the level of performance they deliver. Thankfully they're available at reasonable prices. I can recommend these with my full endorsement.

Not bad... For PC speakers........2007-12-20

I am going to end up returning these (or selling them), but they arn't bad stricktly as PC speakers. Music is ok, but nothing to write home about. Movies and games are definetly better compared to music. The subwoofer is not as impressive either physically or sonically as most will say. For one thing, a slight tap on the side causes a very obvious RING. Now, maybe its the metal covering over the woofer, but this isn't good, besides that, it is very light, cheaply made, and probably underpowered. And for anyone saying this is as good as a $2000 or whatever component system. Get real!

If you value features over pure sound quality, these arn't a bad buy, the "console" is a pretty cool concept. But sound quality with music leaves too much to be desired for me personally, especially for $250 and they arn't anything better than what I already had for music. (except more bass)

Subwoofer is way too big, especially since all the speakers connect from it. Sound quality is "ok". The sub does not blend too well with the satellites and gets kinda annoying. This would be ok with bigger speakers but small satellites need a higher crossover frequency with the sub to compensate for the tiny sound from the satellites and these speakers don't do it.
