These are good affordable speakers. Buy them at the store instead of paying twice as much for shipping.
They can handle a moderate volume and distort before getting LOUD loud, but the bass is good and they sound great compared to a 2 speaker setup.

These speakers are great for an under $20 set. For everyday watching movies, playing games, or listening to music, these speakers do the trick. The bass box is nice and tiny, but still puts out good sound. They can handle some pretty high volumes without any problems, and the bass would have your neighbors banging on the walls.
Pros: Nice and small, good sound, great price.
Cons: no independent bass control (have to use equalizers)
Logitech did a great job on these tiny speakers. Budget minded consumers will be very happy with these.

I purchase 2 pairs of these for the new "theater" room I set up. The speakers mount perfectly to them. The bases are heavy enough that they don't fell like they will tip over. I only wish they were height adjustable. The fronts are a perfect height, but the rear speakers could be a little higher.

I got the Bose Accoustimass speakers and needed the wall mounts to hang the speakers in my entertainment room. They work great. I would just caution you that you may need just 4 brackets for the surround speakers instead of 5 brackets. That would be the only caution. Otherwise they are easy to hang and can move the speakers to the perfect spot for sound quality.

If you've already sunk the money in for the speakers you might as well get the stand built just for the speaker. The base is heavy, and they are easy to put together. I thought that I would constantly notice them, but it's surprising how unobtrusive they are. And they put the speaker at just the right height.

The Bose universal floor stands are just what I was looking for.

Nothing to special about these and given that they are Bose they are definitely overpriced. However they very sturdy in design, and functional in that they hide the wires very well. I have the Cinemate system and would have preferred wall mounting them however my situation didn't allow me that option. I do like the sleekness of the stands and have no regrets in the purchase.

Having recently purchased the Bose Acoustimass 10 Series III Home Theater Speaker System, it quickly became clear to me that the UB-20W wall/ceiling speaker brackets were the only choice when it came to conserving space. As a whole, given the instructions, a power drill, a 7/32" drill bit and a Phillips head screwdriver, the installation of these speaker brackets was quick and simple.
One note of caution though, the instruction booklet calls for a ¼" drill bit for drilling the holes for the plastic anchors that are supplied with the kit, a ¼" drill bit is just a tad too large and will cause you to send the plastic anchor right on through the wall, never to be seen again. A 7/32" drill bit is perfect for this job!
I highly recommend these wall/ceiling brackets if you're looking at purchasing any of the above listed Bose speakers. They're perfect for the job and, providing you purchase the white or black ones depending on your walls, seamlessly fit right in, not to be noticed. {ssintrepid}

This has a lot of great features that I wanted, but (i) it doesn't put out much volume, (ii) the remote control is hard to work (press hard on the buttons, but not too hard; don't be too far from the unit; the Menu button doesn't work at all), and (iii) the first time I used it for a prolonged period, my iPod froze up bad (wouldn't play at all). The last one could just be a coincidence, but I'm taking it back before more problems erupt.

I have been very disappointed with the iLive Portable Boombox...the sound is very distorted and doesn't have a true stereo sound. A regular boombox from Wal-Mart has a better sound than this.

I bought this to take on my boat. The small size, broad feature list, great price, and decent Amazon reviews convinced me this was the right product. Unfortunately, this product failed miserably in the most important area: Sound Quality.
The sound is very thin and tinny. No bass, even with the built in bass enhancer set to the maximum. I set my iPod EQ to Bass Enhancer and this didn't help either. Believe me when I say I tried everything, i.e. various built-in EQs and iPod settings, but could not get acceptable sound. My wife (who admits she does not have an ear for detail) said the sound was just plain awful.
On the plus side, returning the product was easy. Amazon even covered the shipping costs. I simply selected "Does not meet my quality expectations" as the reason for returning it. I was surprised when the message appeared on my browser saying "Since this was our fault, we'll cover shipping", or something similar to that.
Bottom line, if you don't care about sound quality, then this is the box for you. On the flip-side, if you have even a slightly good ear for sound, then stay away.
