I was looking for a long time for portable speakers for my ipod, and most of the ones I found were way over-priced. I actually considered buying the circular ones that have great sound, but i really wanted something i can carry around. The thing about this, it's not just for an ipod, it's for anything that has a plug for headphones, I even use it for my computer when I watch videos because they get pretty loud. Surprisingly my batteries have not died as soon as I thought they would. It comes with a carrying case. I love that they are so small, it was definitely worth the price!

...be sure you know what you're NOT getting. These speakers do not connect to your iPod via the iPod dock connector; you have to plug in the provided cable to the headphone jack. And this does not charge your iPod while playing, although the instructions conveniently show you how to connect it to a computer to do so, in case you never figured that out before!
Again, great sound for the price, but the pictures imply features that are not included. Caveat emptor!

quick review, i purchased this item specifically for vacation, and to fill a hotel room the speakers are just fine, now if you are relying on this product to replace some nicer stereo equipment then you will be dissapointed, but overall solid execution. One negative is the nano doesnt exactly fit snug into the holder, other than that all else ok.

Loud but Bad Buy.......2007-11-21
These speakers definitely have volume, but they are far from practical. The main reason is that there is no charger built in to the speaker. In order to charge it, you have to wrap a regular Ipod charger into the bottom, pull it up, and then connect it to the Ipod. When I plug in my Ipod, I'm not trying to perform surgery. I returned this model and got the more modern Logitech. That at least has a charger. That one has its own problems, but that's for another review.

Okay... this isn't great for my type of music which mostly consists of bass type music like breaks, hip hop, latin, electronic and trance. This is good if you listen to things like easy listening or jazz but for anything else i wouldn't recommend this.

I thought that the system was excellent. It was exactly what I was looking for. I have a Zune and, unfortunately, they do not have enough products that support it yet. Hopefully, they will release some supporting accessories soon. In the meantime, this is an excellent external speaker system. I was able to take it onto the beach on vacation and enjoy my music. The volume is little low, but not so low that we couldn't enjoy it. I was able to use it for both my Zune and my sons' Ipod. The price was very reasonable. Love the size of it. The carry case is great too. Not alot of extra adjustments, ie: treble or bass. I would highly recommend it.

Sound is quite acceptable for a portable unit. I have taken it to the park and sat out in my yard listening to this unit. Volume is good. I even put it on my night stand and watched downloaded TV shows. I used rechargable batteries and have yet to need to recharge them although I charged them once for the heck of it.
The case stores the AC unit in one end and the player in the case easily fits in a lap top bag. Can't wait to take it on business trips.
I wanted a quality portable unit and I got one!
