High Expectations didn't help.......2007-01-10
I got these speakers with the expectation that they would crank in the kitchen when I am blasting speakers in the living room. Well, they play alright, but they are not high-fidelity at all. The treble is good, the base is good, but the midrange is absent. They sound like speakers - instead of music. You know what I mean? great speakers should kinda be invisible and all you should hear is the music. (Like a nice dress should bring out the beauty of the woman - not the other way around) Anyway, these speakers are OK for the money, but with the JBL brand name behind them, I expected more.

We just replaced our old Bose Acoustimass system with the MB Quart Alexxa (ALX6.5IW and ALX8.0IC) speakers. BIG Difference in sound quality! I've never appreciated real surround sound like this before! You'll definitely get your money's worth.
