I ordered a pair of these online, a bit nervous as I wasn't ever able to hear them (I heard a pair of JBL SP6C's, the cheaper version, at Best Buy, and wasn't all that impressed, although it might have been the poor listening environment).
Anyway, the speakers arrived, we installed them (they look great and inconspicuous in our living room ceiling) and I'm quite impressed. Note that we're using these for "whole-house" background music, not home theater, so my standards aren't as high as they would be in the HT case. But for a 6.5" speaker, these put out a surprising amount of bass, and clear highs. Right now we just have a cheap amplifier hooked up while we're shopping for a better one, and they still sound great. These probably would be just fine for HT rear-speaker use (I wouldn't want any in-ceiling speaker for front or center HT use).
Our home theater downstairs already has JBL speakers (studio series for the fronts and center, northridge for the rears) and I've been very happy with them.
I recommend these for those who need a great looking and decent sounding in-ceiling speaker without breaking the bank.

We only bought one of these speakers, since we already had four other outdoor speakers. This speaker is better than the other two types that we already have. The sound is so clear, its like a live concert in our backyard. We are planning on getting two more, to replace a twenty plus year old pair of outdoor bose speakers, (also a great buy!)

it's pretty simple, you get what you pay for... no these won't be able to handle the loudest music with ease nor would i recommend them for home theatre surround...
however, they work perfectly fine for ambient sound throughout the house... in all i bought 3 pair; one for the kitchen, the master bath, and the utility room... utilizing some volume switches and an additional receiver connected to zone 2 on my master receiver and i couldn't be happier...
absolutely nothing wrong with these as long as you don't ask too much of them...

Bought these speakers to put in my 2000 Xterra. They are pretty good quality and do what they are supposed to do. If you like to listen to music really load, than this is not what you want. Over all these are good speakers for the price.

These little speakers can makes some noise for being so small. I would recomend getting some tweeters to go with em if your putting together a system though. I have a set of 12" subs that puts out enough bass to over drownd out the treb that these speakers put out, but all in all they get the job done.

These JBL speakers are fine if you're looking for stereo sound coming out of your TV/entertainment system. The performance will fall short if you're expecting BOSE quality sound. The nice thing about these JBLs is that they are constructed of good quality materials which should last a good time. The directional tweeters are a nice touch so you can point them to a particular spot in the room. They also provide a decent bass so you don't really need a subwoofer.

Easy Install, Fit Great For Ford Mustang, Magnets Look Big In pictures, Not So Great when your holding them in your hands. Sound is Crisp, Clear, Perhaps even Better than Factory. Looking for the "thump"? Forget it! These have absoluetely no more bass than the factory speakers I removed, there not worse, just not any better, no bass improvement.
CONCLUSION: If yours are blown, these are a great, inexpensive, replacement. Looking for a BASS UPGRADE, Forget it, look elsewhere, spend more money.
