I purchased this for my Dell 15.4 inch Inspiron. It is exactly what I was looking for. It protects my laptop while holding a few extras for me. It's very durable and comfortable to use without being too bulky.

This is a great messenger notebook case for carrying around my 15.4" laptop. It's lightweight and compact yet holds what I need. The only drawback is there isn't room for a power cord and adapter.

I agree with everyone, for the price this is a quality carrier. My only complaint: the tighter you adjust the strap, the rubber padding which is supposed to rest on your shoulder moves further toward the laptop, and because of the design you cannot move the padding back up to your shoulder. It wasn't a big enough deal for me to return it, though this flaw is a bit of an annoyance for me. I'm not sure if this is a defect with the one I received or if this is a feature on every bag.

A great case for large notebooks. Lots of nooks and crannies for the extras
you'll endup needing to workwith your computer. At first I thought it pricy
but I bought it for the sturdy handles after looking at cheaper cases.

I originally bought this because of the messenger style. I'm still a fan of that style but this bag is trash. The shoulder strap is uncomfortable and not removable. So first thing I did was cut it off and attach my old strap. The flap is not very well secured, while holding the bag by the handle your laptop is exposed to dust and the weather. Targus should have used Velcro instead of the plastic buckle. (hmmmm I just thought of my next modification >_>)
The bottom of the laptop compartment does not have any rigid padding; just very soft and thin padding that will not protect your 17" notebook if you happen drop it or sit it down with out precaution on a hard surface.
The over all color is nice, the yellow lettering is a little tacky but does not take away from the over all aesthetics.

I received this item in a very short period of time (3-4 days; standard shipping) and it works great. It is very sturdy, well constructed and has a flexible computer pocket so it can be used with various sizes. Also it is great that it has so much storage to keep all of the necessary items for mobile computing. Also of note is that it is very light even with a 17" laptop inside with all the accessories. A very solid purchase.

This bag exceeded my expectations for my humungous 17" Toshiba P205 laptop. It has lots of storage options and has really well thought-out areas of padding; top, sides, and bottom. All of the zippers and handles are very tough. Couldn't be happier.

I love the look of this bag and it fits my Macbook Pro perfectly. The power cord pouch is extremely helpful, and I love the fact that there is a handle on top of the bag so I can carry around as a briefcase. The only problem I have with the bag is that the shoulder strap is too short for me with it extended all the way. I am 5"7 and I am a little busty and I have found that the strap is very short I tend to like my messenger bags to sit just below by hip. This bag sits at my waist just above my hip and feels a little confining. I had my mother try it on and she is 5"4 and overweight by about 75lbs and this bag was short on her as well but it did come down to to her hip. So, I have been carrying it around by the handle or I don't put it across my chest.

It's a great bag with pockets for different gadgets, mobile hard disk, mouse, mp3 player, mouse pad etc. And it even has a separate bag for AC adapter! I got the 15inch jet/cabernet because it's 12 dollars cheaper than other colors (I don't know why because it looks great and looks better than the picture). I would've given it 5 stars if not for the problem that it's a little bit tight for my 15.4inch Thinkpad T61.

Quality, light, slim bag.
Exterior: I ordered the merlot which is burgundy, not red as shown in picture. The underside of the attached shoulder strap is burgundy and the top is black; the strap is invisible when tucked away in its own exterior pocket and the strong hand strap can be used. There are 2 zippered pockets - one of which is large enough for a letter sized folder.
Interior: The inside of the bag has a well padded pocket which accommodates my HP9600 perfectly as well as another large pocket for papers and 2 side pockets for peripherals. There is also a small removable case that I use for my power pack.
This is a well designed quality light weight bag!
The delivery was speedy - a very easy transaction.

This is a great bag - it is thin and not bulky, there are plenty of pockets, my 17" laptop fits perfectly, and it has room for a few files and the necessary cords and peripherals.
My one frustration with the bag is that the adjustable strap only adjusts a little. I like to have the strap be pretty short so I can carry the bag near my low back while I ride my bike, and I cannot decrease the strap length enough to do that. This also means that when shorter people carry the bag over their shoulder, it hangs really low. This defect makes the bag uncomfortable to carry.

This bag is, by far, superior to the other laptop bags I tried out. First, it is hard enough to find a 17" bag, and when you do, it's so ridiculously expensive. I bought this bag on a hunch and am so glad I did. It is perfect. I use my laptop, and the bag, everyday to and from 2 different jobs. The strap is solid and the bag distributs the weight well. I'm 5'6 and the bag falls just below my hip, with the strap adjusted to the smallest length - comfortable and out of the way.
The interior compartment for the laptop is a velvet-like finish - very soft and protective. The bag has inner pockets for pencils, credit cards, cell phones, etc. There is an exterior pocket to hold other things, including an MP3 player. The bag comes with a smaaler bag to hold AC cords, and that bag stores in the front most pocket for easy access. The back of the bag has another pocket with velcroe closure, which I use to store my "X-pad" (a laptop cooling pad - which I also highly recommend).
Everything fits perfectly, for the most part. If you are someone that tends to carry files or a pile of papers, having the AC adapter, etc in the very front pocket takes up some storage and it can get cramped inside the main compartment. There have been times I've opted to keep the AC bag separate to have more room for files. Other than that though, for the price, the construction, the durability and the protection, this bag is the best thing on the market. By far. And as for it having a "boring" look...I was looking for something other than the traditional black, but nothing too "crazy." I think the red adds a nice touch, without it being obnoxious. And I must not be the only one because I have gotten received more compliments on this bag than I can count.
Bottom LIne: If you have a 17" laptop you want to protect, buy it.

I love this Belkin Messenger Bag. It has tons of pockets, holds my 15.4" laptop securely, and looks great! I can easily fit my laptop, all of my cords and cables, discs, Palm, etc. inside without a problem.

I love the look of this bag and it fits my Macbook Pro perfectly. The power cord pouch is extremely helpful, and I love the fact that there is a handle on top of the bag so I can carry around as a briefcase. The only problem I have with the bag is that the shoulder strap is too short for me with it extended all the way. I am 5"7 and I am a little busty and I have found that the strap is very short I tend to like my messenger bags to sit just below by hip. This bag sits at my waist just above my hip and feels a little confining. I had my mother try it on and she is 5"4 and overweight by about 75lbs and this bag was short on her as well but it did come down to to her hip. So, I have been carrying it around by the handle or I don't put it across my chest.

It's a great bag with pockets for different gadgets, mobile hard disk, mouse, mp3 player, mouse pad etc. And it even has a separate bag for AC adapter! I got the 15inch jet/cabernet because it's 12 dollars cheaper than other colors (I don't know why because it looks great and looks better than the picture). I would've given it 5 stars if not for the problem that it's a little bit tight for my 15.4inch Thinkpad T61.
