This card works like a turbo charger on my Canon digital camera. I take quite a few action shots on the water from my kayak. There is a most noticeable difference in the processing speed. Wish I had bought it sooner.

I bought this for my Nikon D-100 and D-70 cameras. It works extremely well. I've taken over 5,000 photos and I used it to transfer photos from the camera to the computer or I upload the photos I want developed and then take it to Walmart or some other digital printing shop and develop the photos. I have NEVER had a problem and have never lost a photo to this flash card. I would recommend the 1GB or higher card though - they are so cheap now.

The disk is good, I opened it, it is not the correct disk for my camera and now I have no use for it and it is opened, but never used or put into a device because it is the wrong product. Can I return it?

when i bought my CF card on 2004, it cost $220, now, wow! :)

this card has enough storage capacity for an afternoon walk in the park, even on a 10MP camera.

The speed is also fast enough for many Pro-sumer cameras, unless you have the high-end cameras for the PROs, there's no reason to buy the ULTRA III.

2GB are as cheap as ever, so buy the biggest storage you can afford.

I am currently looking for a new memory card as the PNY 512 stopped working. I could not get my last images from it. Lasted less than a year, about 30-50 downloads before Memory Error message came up.

CORRUPTED DATA - LOSS ALL PICTURES.......2005-08-28

I have some minor problems once in a while like it displayed a message of memory problem but during my last vacation I took about 150-170 pictures in the first few days. Suddenly i get those memory messages and finally I got "Corrupted Data" and that was the end. I couldtn't view or download my pictures anymore. I have to purchase a new 512MB this time i bought ScanDisk at Radio Shack for 60 dollars.
It works fine when it works but then it doesn't work anymore and it's all gone.
Let's see if I have better luck with ScanDisk ...

Drains batteries in Fuji S7000.......2004-05-24

You should not buy this compact flash card if you have a FujiFilm S7000 camera as it will drain the batteries.

I bought the memory yesterday and put it in my S7000. It's been less than 24 hours, and I have had to replace the batteries twice (I've taken about 10 pictures total with the camera turned off most of the time).
Other than that the memory seems to work fine in the camera.

Note, I cannot comment on other cameras as this is the only one I've tried the card in. I believe this is a known problem in the FujiFilm S7000 camera, that some compact flash cards cause battery drains -- this is one of those cards. If you're looking for a 512MB CF card, consider instead the Lexar 40X 512MB WA card (CF512-40-380) as this works fine in the camera. I've also found that a SimpleTech 512MB works fine.

I bought this because I thought it was a Canon product. No where on it does it say Canon USA. It took almost two weeks to get here, and in my opinin is overpriced. I also ordered a card directly from Amazon, which got here much sooner, and was about 1/2 the price.

My review mirrors of this product mirrors that of another customer posted recently. For some months after I first bought the card, it worked great. Now it has twice caused memroy card errors and corrupted data with my Canon Elph, and photo technicians have been unable to retrieve any of the pictures from the card. Judging by what other customers have written, I'm suspecting that this may be an issue of poor compatibility between Canon cameras and Viking cards. In any case, I will be buying a new memory card and it will certainly not be a Viking.

Look folks, anytime you buy an electronic item of ANY kind, some have trouble while others do not. And yes, occasionally a certain item or brand seems to have more problems than others. But that is the exception rather than the rule. The adage: "you get what you pay for" is far too vague a statement to be useful in all but the rarest of circumstances, a Plasma TV selling for $300.00 for example. In the case of this product, it doesn't apply. This media card is an excellent product at a terrific price. Companies like SimpleTech don't have huge marketing budgets, but that doesn't mean their products are any worse than the bigger players. If you want a good product and a great price, this one is hard to beat. We're not talking about cancer cures here...

Never had a problem, have traveled to Australia and Costa Rica with this card and not once has it shown any signs of distress despite high humidity and fluctuating temperatures. Love Simpletech memory products, I have been using them for years and never been disappointed.

Works great with Cannon Powershot A70.......2005-09-12

It can fit a ton of pictures and vides. About 500 pictures on my 3.0mp camera, in jpeg format, minimally compressed. I could also hold about 8 minutes of video at 640x480 resolution, 15fps (the max of my camera). At 320x240 it can hold about 3x as much (not 4x as much, as you would think). I have used the card for 1 year now, and have not had a single problem. I am going to be buying a 1gb card by the same company now, though I will suggest it is better to have 2 big cards than 1 huge one (don't keep all your eggs in one basket). Anyway, this card works great with my Cannon Powershot A70. Simply perfect!

this Lexar 512 card is a nice card. I have used Sandisk and Viking cards previously. And the Lexar is keeps up with them. Not the fastest of the bunch, but I havent had a problem with losing any images. (between the three brands I have had the most problems with Sandisk, all 512 cards)

I shoot with a Canon G5, 5MP camera and for weekend trips this card works great. Shoots fast enough for my camera, but have noticed is a bit slow when I try and review images on my camera. but not much. only reason I gave it a 4.

For the 29.99 price though don't hesitate, it's a good deal.

In the real of media, there arent many that stand out to be impressive- and this card isn't an impressive performer, which is why I would only give it 4 stars.
