Bought these speakers to put in my 2000 Xterra. They are pretty good quality and do what they are supposed to do. If you like to listen to music really load, than this is not what you want. Over all these are good speakers for the price.

These little speakers can makes some noise for being so small. I would recomend getting some tweeters to go with em if your putting together a system though. I have a set of 12" subs that puts out enough bass to over drownd out the treb that these speakers put out, but all in all they get the job done.

I took a big chance on buying these speakers. I was just trying to see what I could get for the money...I was sure that I was going to get some pretty poor sounding speakers at this price. I was quite wrong. I installed these myself paired with a nice new JVC CD/MP3 head unit. I was surprised at the sound. I think that I'll end up getting some bass speakers for the back though as these tend to bring out the high end. So not enough bass would be my only complaint. Otherwise great speakers...especially at that price.

The wrong picture is posted. The real thing is a KP-653 which is on the Power Acoustik website. However the specs of the model on the website and my purchase were different: the magnet is not 18 oz, its 13 oz, dB is not 91, its 90, and voice coil is not 1.25 inch, its 1 inch. It's still 6.5", 160 watt max and 3-way. Ironically, they look the same. Whatever, its still a good value and plays nice.

The Reference 3002cf uses a balanced dome tweeter to ensure smooth response, free from harshness and fatigue clear out to 21kHz, even at high output levels.The motor structure found in each Reference model is longer than that found on competing models. This longer motor structure uses a longer voice coil and taller surround. The result is longer X-max which delivers more bass output.

Beware of harsh treble..........2006-03-15
A very nice, solid little pair of speakers, with two important reservations:
1. The tweeters on these, and their next-of-kin 3012cf, are not of the mellow, silk variety found on other reference speakers. If you anticipate any problem with overpowered high notes -- cymbal crashes, Joni Mitchell's voice, etc -- these can leave you feeling as though you've had a dentist drill in your ear canals. This seems to be particularly acute if they're set up on your dash, with the sound being reflected against the windshield before reaching your ears.
2. The magnets on these speakers are enormous compared to the factory cones you're replacing, and you may find that they fit awkwardly in the original slots; with my Saab, eg, I have yet to find a way of forcing the grilles back into place... hence, I'm driving around with two ugly holes peeping up at the windshield.
Still, I give them a '4' because I believe the ideosynchrasies mentioned are largely an effect of Swedish automotive design; if I were filling 3.5" door slots on another car, for instance, I'd buy these again.
