Great Camera.......2007-12-27
First of all I just want to thank Amazon for delivering on time as promised. I live in rural Arizona and ordered this camera on the 21st of December, it arrived on the 24th. Fantastic job Amazon! As for the camera I've shot about 60 pictures with it already and it does a great job with exposure and face detection. This is a great snapshot shooter, small and easy to carry. I own a Canon Xti and have shot with a 30d, this camera in certain situations does a better job in Auto mode with shot exposure than either the 30d or the xti. I suspect that it is the new Digic III processor that does such a great job handling exposure. Can it do all that you can do with an xti? uhhh..no, not even close. Will it take beautiful, sharp photos? oh yeah! Canon cameras are hard to beat for quality and they produce great photos. If you can afford it, buy it, you won't be disappointed.
Amazing photos and easy for a non-pro to use.......2007-12-26
The small size of this camera surprised me when it arrived,- smaller than a pack of cigarettes. I am not a camera buff but found it easy to use and fairly intuitive. I took a picture of our orange tree just before we harvested and the living vibrance of colours was astounding. They looked like they were shot in a studio. I have used portrait and auto settings so far, and have not taken a single bad picture.

Best price I could find for this camera, ordered it Sunday before Christmas and received it Thursday (free shipping) Very happy so far.

Great Deal .......2007-12-26
Don't waste your money on expensive HDMI cables as there is no functional difference. These work perfect and are a bargin.
Great Price.......2007-12-24
I bought these cables to hook up my new HDTV. They worked perfectly and I saw similar cables for $40 at Sears and $65 at Office Max. What a rip off.
Well worth the money.......2007-12-24
Cables To Go - 40315 - 2M (6.5ft) Velocity HDMI Digital Video Cable (Blue)
Very good for a reasonable price, so reasonable I picked up 2 of them. I could not see or hear any difference between this cable output and the one I unfortunately paid 3 times as much for in a big box store. Beautiful picture and sound on my lcd tv.
Save your money and buy this cable.
Not been able to use it!.......2007-12-24
I would probably be able to give this product a real review, if I had received the Receiver I ordered to go with it. It's been about a month since I placed the order.
Worked.......2007-12-24
Cable worked fine which is what I require from a cable. A local office store had a cable for $67. So in comparison this appears to be a good deal.

Amazon.com Product Description
If you're looking for vehicle navigation that's powerful and simple to use, the Garmin StreetPilot c340 is just the ticket. Right out of the box, this unit helps you make the right turns wherever your travels take you. With an easy-to-use touchscreen interface, text-to-speech voice commands, a brilliant display that shows the way with 2D or 3D animations, and a massive points of interest database, the c340 has all the basics covered. Plus, you'll find some great additional features that make it a must-have companion.
Look Mom, no buttons! Garmin has taken simplicity to a new level with the c340. |
The c340 is designed with simplicity in mind, although Garmin hasn't forgotten to add a touch of class. With a weight of under ten ounces and a width of 4.4 inches, the c340 is ultracompact and easy to transport. To keep confusion on the road to a minimum, the only buttons are a rotary volume knob and an on/off switch. The bright 3.5-inch-diagonal display features a touchscreen, making it a snap to input routing information and make quick selections on the road. The c340 sports dual integrated speakers for high-quality voice prompts, a USB port for PC connectivity, and an internal lithium-ion battery that provides power when you're planning your routes outside the car (approximately 4-8 hours battery life). In addition to an included 12-volt power adapter for in-car power, there's also an SD memory card expansion slot for use with other Garmin MapSource mapping products. The unit is secured by a suction-mount cradle that fastens to the windshield, allowing for easy portability between vehicles. You can even customize the c340's appearance with optional colored faceplates that suit your style. While the c340 has an internal GPS antenna, it also has an MCX-type connector for hooking up an optional external GPS antenna.
Finding your way with the c340 starts with inputting a location on the touch screen. Next, the unit's text-to-speech feature speaks to you just like a back seat driver, telling you the names of streets and when to turn and in what direction. And if you happen to miss a turn--don't worry, the c340 automatically calculates a new route to your destination. Audible and visual navigation instructions and warnings help you navigate more quickly while keeping your eyes on the road. You can also choose between a 3D mapping perspective or 2D overhead view.
The c340 offers clear, easy-to-read 3D directions. |
Another time- and frustration-saving feature of the c340 is the database of preloaded maps and points of interest. Gone are the days of uploading partial maps from your computer to your GPS device: the c340 has them all built in. The unit comes preloaded with Garmin's highly detailed City Select NT street data of the entire United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Finding points of interest along your route is made easy with the c340's huge built-in database of nearly six million hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and attractions. Garmin has also made it easy for users to upload custom points of interest--now you can add school zones or safety cameras to your database. You can even turn on a proximity alert to notify you of upcoming custom points of interest.
Garmin really kicks the power of the c340 up a notch with the addition of real-time traffic information. This optional service will display congested areas on a color-coded map, allowing you to avoid traffic by simply pushing a button that calculates a new route. All this wizardry is made possible by the new Garmin GTM 10 receiver that connects to the c340 and other select Garmin products. Note that while the GTM 10 receives digital data from specific FM broadcast stations in select major metro areas throughout the United States and Europe, note that these traffic services are available only in select cities where coverage exists. The service requires the GTM 10 FM TMC traffic receiver and, in some cases, a subscription to enable these traffic capabilities.
What's in the Box
StreetPilot c340 receiver with built-in antenna, dual internal speaker system for voice guidance and alerts, vehicle suction cup mount with 12-24 volt adapter, dashboard disk, USB interface cable, preloaded City Select North America NT database, and quick-reference guide.
Customer Reviews:
Useful but stubborn!.......2007-12-26
The Garmin c340 came in very handy on our recent trip from Virginia to Miami... the voice commands were easy to follow, the display very clear, and the timing of turn on cue. We did not like the fact that it does not have an option to avoid toll roads (it kept directing us to the FL Turnpike even though I-95 was parallel to it!). We liked the choices of voices - my kids loved Austrailian Karen. On the whole, it is a great value, easy to use, and useful for road travel. We recommend it!
very good.......2007-12-26
Just gave this as a Christmas and my mom hasn't had much time to use it but so far it has been very useful. It does come ready to use straight out of the box and is very user friendly. She isn't very tech savvy and was able to use it right away. It gave the wrong directions one time but it was clear that the directions were messed up so re entered the address and it worked better.
Daughter loves the Garmin.......2007-12-26
We bought it for our daughter and her safety on the road. She enjoys it very much and uses it every trip she takes.Garmin StreetPilot c340 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator
Bad Receiption.......2007-12-26
The C340 is very wide so it is not handy when traveling on planes, you would have to bring a seperate case for it. Also we could not get receiption in our house so we can only enter a trip outside. Other models of Garmin and other brands have worked in our house but not this one. We do not live in a rural area so there is no reason it should not work.
What a great deal I got on this! Chanukah gift for my brother!.......2007-12-26
This was a perfect Chanukah gift for my brother!
I used it, when I was home visiting. Excellent price and value & very dependable!

Customer Reviews:
not sure about it.......2007-12-25
the cap does not lock properly it might get lost very easy....however it works as expected
Disappointing ergonomic design kills it.......2007-12-24
The Kingston DataTraveler family of drives should be a great product. The pricing is excellent compared to the storage capacity, and they work very well in regards to compatibility with PCs and USB ports.
Where the Kingston drives fail miserably is in their user ergonomics. First up is the cap. The cap is on tight - real tight - and that is good, since it helps prevent it from getting lost. However, the shape of the cap - tapering in the same direction you'll need to pull it - combined with the tightness, and therefore the effort needed to remove it, makes it very difficult to grip long enough to get it off. Kingston could have overcome this easily by including some grooves, ribs, or some flares or depressions to enhance your grip, but inexplicably they didn't.
The fatal flaw for me is the keychain loop on the rear of the drive. For me, the USB drive is all about mobility. I like to be able to carry 4GB of data around with me; it's fantastically handy to port that much storage. But, and this is a big "but", you MUST be able to make sure the data stays with you. Who wants to lose their data? No one does that I know of. And this is where the drive lets you down. The loop for hanging it on a keychain is far too weak to hold up to even light duty use. Mine broke within 6 days of use, and it was shocking how little effort it took for the loop to break. A very gentle tug of my keys from a backpack pocket, an act that my Lexar Media 1 GB JumpDrive Sport USB Flash ( JDSP1GB-231 ) (Retail Package)has endured for nearly 2 years without complaint, and yet the Kingston snapped its loop completely off. To further add insult, it now has 2 very sharp barbs where the loops were, requiring me to perform some surgery on the drive just to make sure it doesn't pose a danger to fingers.
I'm headed back to the Lexar JumpDrive Sport family, which I appreciate even more than I did now that I've seen the failings of the competition.
Cool Gadgets To Store Data.......2007-12-23
I've had a chance to really use the Kingston 4 GB for a while now. These thinks really work great. As long as you use a usb 2, and not a slower usb 1, data transfer is relatively fast. Don't forget 4 GB is a lot of data, and it only takes about 10 to 15 minutes to transfer. I have heard other people complain of the time it takes to use one of these, but the days of the Megabyte are coming to an end, waiting a few minutes to transfer "billions" of bits of information is not too much to ask. I am not disappointed with the performance of these little wonders.
It survived laundry machine!.......2007-12-21
does it say anywhere in manual that this thing is water-proof? It just did for me! I felt so stupid when I saw it lay on the bottom of the laundry machine. but it is still working! Ha, 5 star of course.
Great little gadget. Don't know how I lived without it!.......2007-12-17
Totally portable, easily transferrable files from small ones to very, very large. I never have to worry about having enough space. Wish I have bought one years ago.

Cables worked fine and the TV images and sound are great. All is routed througha Sony ES STR-DA5200ES receiver back to the Mitsubishi 73" 1080P DLP TV.
Works excellently.......2007-12-24
Works as described. I cannot figure out why people would pay as much as $100 for a similar cable! Enjoy this item!
Working great.......2007-12-24
This product has worked wonderfully for a huge fraction of the price. This shows jus because something doesn't cost alot doesn't mean it isn't quality
hdmi cables.......2007-12-21
The cables are fine. Work as designed. However... I had to pretty much order them in the dark as they were described only as HDMI cables including the length. There are many diffrerent types of HDMI cables on the market which are designed for different technologies. It would have been very helpful to have had a item specification list for each of these cable models.Cables To Go - 40315 - 2M (6.5ft) Velocity HDMI Digital Video Cable (Blue)

Wouldn't give it as many stars..........2007-12-27
I got, well...asked for this camera for Christmas...I got it early to try it out to make sure I liked it. I used to have a Canon Powershot S70...LOVED it!! However, it was stolen when I accidently left it in the bathroom for 10 minutes. I figured I had that camera since 2004 and I was sure new technology had come out since then and wanted something smaller.
It's and OK camera. Sure, it's smaller than my Powershot S70 but all of my pictures have red eyes, even with the reduction on. And, the face sensor starts out cool but as soon as you go to actually take the picture it reduces down to one face. And, the dial on this...look closely as compared to the other new Powershot cameras easily turns. You might have it in your pocket or purse and pull it out and not notice that it's no longer on the auto mode but on the manual mode because it turns too easily.
I am going to take this camera back and get a less expensive camera to take out and might even order my old Canon Powershot S70 again since it took GREAT pics...
Another thing...I'm not seeing the 12.1 megapixel difference. Sure, you can zoom but really...with this type of camera...how big are you going to blow those pictures up...if your a pro - you will have a much better camera.
Save the $$$ and go with something that takes good pics and if you want pro pics...invest it the technology.
Now that I've written this...don't out bid me on ebay for that Powershot S70 - you'll see how good it is that even after it coming out in 2004 still fetches $300 on ebay - USED... back in 2004 I paid $500 for it...
And, if you're reading this and are the person that took that Powershot S70 out of that bathroom in Ft. Worth, TX - hope you're enjoying this review and please send me all of the great pics I took from that night.
Cheers,
Chase
BIG MONEY FOR BLURRY PICS.......2007-12-26
This camera cost so much money compared to the blurry pics it creates. If something isn't standing completly still then the pic blur's. For example my new born niece's were sitting in cribs. I went to take a pic and the camera has huge lag beofre taking, then Sofia moved her head to the left and all i got was a blurred pic. This has happend on more the 50% of my pics and it is upsetting. I had a canon before this one and it s=did the same thing. I figured for more money I would get rid of that problem, but nope. Also I hear this camera has a problem some "E??" error. I would check it out becaus eit is supposed to render the camera useless. So if you do buy this item well i wish you the best of luck.
A little disappointed :(.......2007-12-26
I bought the camera for my wife as a Christmas gift. I guess I just expected something better for the price. The picture quality outdoors is decent, NOT GREAT. Picture quality indoors with low lighting is not that great - typical for digital cameras. I also did the manual selection and raised the iso but the pictures turned out too grainy. I used to own the first Canon G series (3 megapixel) bought it more than 5 years ago and the quality is almost the same. The only thing I like about this camera is that it's compact and it comes with a great software for organizing the pictures (GREAT SOFTWARE!!!). If you're looking for something that takes great picture and not too concern about the size, I would suggest looking into the Canon G series or Nikkon D40.
I Love This Little Camera.......2007-12-24
I just got this as an early Christmas present and I love it. The pix are gorgeous, the controls are intuitively layed out and quick to use, and it has just enough manual controls to make it interesting but not so many that it becomes confusing. I have a Rebel XTi, and I'm getting as good or better point and shoot pix with this little 950, probably because it's so lightweight and quick to use. I've missed a lot of shots with the Rebel while I futzed with settings. Also, I like composing the shot by looking at the LCD screen on the back, rather than peering thru a viewfinder. I can better see what's happening with the subject I want to shoot and I just think I get better shots that way.
The camera is small but not so tiny that it gets lost in your hand. Image Stabilization is good. I have a habit of breathing in as I adjust the shot, then holding my breath when I take the photo to minimize camera shake, and that works well. The pix are sharp and the color is very real-to-life in Auto Mode. You can set the ISO to 1600 to get pix in low light without using the flash. I haven't gotten much red-eye with the flash tho, except on the dog.
Overall, very nice. Looks good, feels well made; good Canon quality. I'm very happy with it.
Design issues, cheap assembly.......2007-12-20
The problem with the SD950 camera is the same as other SD cameras, the design of the panels leaves big gaps between the panels (mostly on the top of the camera), this camera has realy big gap problem. Canon has cut some corners to save money and this makes the camera look cheap. It is a shame because the material used for the outer panels is of excellent quality.
The plastic battery door is also cheap and flimsy.
Suggestion for the next SD: more screws to well tight the outer panels, and better battery doors, and, please, keep production in Japan!

Customer Reviews:
Mostly Canon Issues with the card.......2007-12-13
Mostly Canon with the memory access problems.
Anyway for cards this large one should not continously delete as not deleating will force use of the rest of the memory space. Full delete for large shoots, raw formats, and trips.
Flash memory does have a FINITE number of times the cells can be modified.
Resulting in corrupted data hard errors.
Can't beat the prce.......2007-12-11
You cannot beat this deal for the price of memory storage. The card has worked flawlessly for me and the price is incredible.
Satisfied.......2007-12-11
I had no problems. Quick delivery. Product works. What else can you ask for?
So far so good.......2007-12-09
So far this has been a great card for me. I shoot in RAW and can cram like 200 shots onto the card. It is a tad slower than my Extreme III cards, but since it cost less, I am OK with that.
Perfect memory card for serious digital photographers.......2007-11-29
I love this 4 GB card. I use it in my 10.1MP digital camera (Canon XTi EOS 400D). The CF card's high capacity and speed make taking lots of high-resolution pictures a true joy. (I photograph using RAW mode.) Highly recommended.

Great camera.......2007-12-26
Just wanted to say that this camera has it all. It works out in any situation. If you are looking into purchasing this camera, well worth the money.
Great Camera!.......2007-12-26
This camera was the talk of our Christmas parties this year, as it is just so easy to use. The large display allowed even our old eyes to see if we needed to retake those important shots. This is a must-have camera for point & shoot folks like us!
Canon SD870IS.......2007-12-26
Crisp clear pictures, faithful colors. A big improvement over my old Canon S110. I miss the optical viewfinder.
Need Help & Suggestions w/ Canon SD870is.......2007-12-26
I've used this camera for 2 weeks now. It looked really nice, but I am having some troubles with it. When taking pictures at night outdoor (or even indoor with low lights), there are couple of vertical lines appeared on the LCD screen. Is it normal? Do I have a defective camera? Please help!
Crisp and Clear pictures!.......2007-12-26
I've had 3 canon cameras now.
My SD450 which my girlfriend has takes great pictures as well, but it's night and day when you get your hands on this beauty.
First off, that 3 in. LCD screen is just incredible. You can see everything in great detail with it's screen size.
And the pictures are sweet as well.
You have like 12 different preset scene modes for night, beach, foliage, pets & kids, etc. etc... you can't blow the picture for the life of you.
I'm still learning everything, but it's easy to navigate with the scroll wheel, like on an mp3 player....
Look, Buy it and you won't regret ever reading this review.....
I only buy canon digital cameras, because their simply the best looking and best software package , and of course the images are stunningly clear!
Cheerio!!!
