Good Sound, CD Doesn't Work.......2007-12-26
I bought this as a surprise gift for my husband for Christmas 2007. He was so excited he took it out of the box and hung it below the kitchen cabinet right after he opened it. The radio worked great with good sound but it wouldn't play any CD's. Now we have to take it down and return it, and I have holes in my cabinet. Very disappointing.
Music.......2007-11-08
This is a really nice cd / radio player. Ours is in the laundry room. Love the sound and style. Only problem is reception for the radio but that is only every now and then.
Great value and great quality.......2007-10-31
Was searching for a pull-down TV/radio for awhile for my kitchen and couldn't justify the high cost of the TV and thought I'd settled for a radio with TV broadcast. Very happily surprised with the TV broadcast and the radio is great. No interference and I have it next to my microwave and pretty close to the frig. The sound quality is typical awesome Sony and putting a magnet on the remote is ingenious. I'm extremely happy with the price too - $20 lower than BestBuy.
Absolutely love it........2007-10-28
After reading all the reviews I decided to buy the product. It arrived within days, very easy to install, the sound is more then I expected. The design is trimline and looks great under the cabinet. Would highly recommend this product.
Excellent undercabinet radio........2007-10-23
The sound quality is very good for an undercabinet radio. I like the timer feature for the kitchen as well. The keys are easy to understand and the cd player does it's job.

Nice Clock but radio not so good.......2007-12-23
Nice for bed side alarm though the radio is analog and takes time to tune in and you can preset various channels. No battery back up for travel mode
CD Clock Radio.......2007-12-15
The only feature I'd like to see is NOT having the CD restart from top of track 1 every time it is used as an alarm. It should pick-up where I stopped it.
Sony Dream Machine.......2007-12-12
The clock and alarm work great, but was disappointed in the radio quality and overall quality of the machine. I had seen one at a hotel and it was of a much better quality.
Dreaming of better technology........2007-11-26
The cd player skips at the least bump or vibration, it's much larger that it looks in the picture, much larger than it needs to be and the multifunction switches are trouble. And last but certainly not least, Sony has set a new low in alarm clock technology...where every other manufacturer in the world has a battery backup in case of a power outage...the Sony Dream Machine does not! I guess they figure if there is a blip in the power you should just go on "Dreaming". Oh and by the way, make sure you have the instruction manual handy, once the power goes back on you'll need it to go through the process of resetting everything. If you're looking for a really good and less expensive radio/cd player alarm, check out the RCA RP5600.
radio/cd player.......2007-11-26
This small cd player has big sound. Contols for volume and radio are not convenient. Would be better with digital read out for radio. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

Christmas dissapointment.......2007-12-25
I purchased this unit for my wife for Christmas. Drilled the holes in my cabinet and installed the unit. The cd player did not function. I called Sony and spent an hour on the phone. After trying several CD's and powering the unit off. They said to wait an hour with the tray open to see if there was any condensation. I did with the same result. I was glad we opened this gift on 12/24. If we had waited till the 25th it would have been outside the 30 day replacement warranty. Another Chinese product.... quality is not a goal in their products.
good unit -- don't plug into same outlet as fridge!.......2007-12-24
I have to come clean. I wrote a scathing review of this unit earlier today. Last night, I set this up in our kitchen, but after fumbling for a couple hours to get decent reception from the ac cord/antenna, I gave up. Static and poor audio from every station on the fm dial -- and we live well within the bounds of Washington DC's radio coverage (and get great reception from all of our other radios and stereos). Well, joy of the internet! I read that refrigerators can interfere with other electronics that share the same outlet and can even interfere with electronics that are simply in the vicinity. As it turns out, I had indeed plugged the radio into the same outlet as the fridge and while I had tried everything to improve receptio last night -- even adding and extension cord to increase the "length" of the ac antenna -- it never occurred to me to try a different outlet. Sure enough, that did it. Problem solved. It turns out circuits with light dimmers can have a similar effect as fridges, too. Bottom line, make sure to select your outlet carefully. Sounds great now -- what difference. Can't seem to change the rating on this, but would give it 4 stars now, at least.
Nice upgrade for our kitchen.......2007-12-24
For several years we had a one-disc under-the-shelf CD player. Since then, prices have come down and features have improved. This unit holds up to three discs, will play the play/shuffle/repeat combinations I choose and sounds great. I really enjoy having another place to plug in my iPod (will take other mp3 players too.) Handy magnetized remote control sticks to your fridge so it's harder to misplace. Installation is easy and the volume gets plenty big enough to fill the space if you want to go louder. I paid less for this than I did my first under-shelf player and this one is a lot better! I only gave it four stars because 1) my wife doesn't find the controls as easy to understand as she did the old one and 2) the orange LCD display takes some getting used to, at least it did for us. But overall, I like it a lot.
Sony ICF-CDK70 Under Cabinet Kitchen Clock Radio with CD-Changer.......2007-12-22
Order process quick and easy, delivery very fast, product well packaged, easy to install and works great. Everything we wanted.
Superior choice.......2007-12-21
Excellent product, recommended if you want a quality kitchen radio...
Pros
3 cd- disc changer
mp3/ipod adapter
strong signal quality
good sound quality
Cons
size (not as slim as one might like but a trade off to play 3 cd's)
placement (have to be careful of water and heat and in smaller kitchens with little counter space for food prep this might be a difficult unit to place)

The Best Alarm Clock money can buy!.......2007-11-14
This Sony Dream Machine CD/Alarm Clock is by far the best available anywhere at any price. I replaced my aging Sony Dream Machine (10 years old) with this one. Not at all disappointed. It's very easy to program, sounds good for 2 small stereo speakers in an alarm clock! The ice blue luminecence of the alarm clock is awesome. You can set it to Bright, Dim or Off. The LCD display is very clear, large and easy to read in all lighting. Very easy to turn off either of the dual alarms, when you don't have to get up in the morning! Awaken to alarm (which starts out soft and gets louder) or your favorite radio station (excellant FM reception by the way, not too many alarm clocks can say that!) or wake up to your favorite CD track! All very well thought out and easy to program. This alarm clock is idiot proof. Take this Sony out of the box, plug it in and the correct time is automaticly displayed. Eastern Standard time is the default. Those in other time zones just have to push a small button on the side (hidden from main buttons so you won't push it by accident) keep pushing button until your correct time zone PST, MST, etc. comes up on the display and you're done. The correct time! Note, you can also easily set it manually if you prefer. The lithium battery back-up should last 10 years. Another plus, not having to worry if the power goes out. Sony pretty much thought of everything on this CD/Alarm Clock. I've had mine for 3 months now. And I can't really think of anything I would change on it or anything extra I would add to it. Simply put, as perfect as you can get. Just like most anything Sony makes. Looking forward to using this for 10 years! By the way my nephew is using my old Sony Dream Machine, it's still working perfectly! You have to buy this Sony Dream Machine, yeah it's pricey but remember these days YOU GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR!
jn316.......2007-11-12
The best clock radio I ever bought, little buttons ,it has illumination bright illumination, no Mega Bass, get a boom box, it's an alarm clock, the sound is clean, and the stations are locked in. Buy it, you will not be disappointed
What more do you want?.......2007-11-09
This thing rocks. Sounds quality is good, not hi-fi but it's a clock radio not a surround sound monstrocity. It's got 3 levels of light that it's cool to switch with when you want more or less. Can wake to CD and pick what track.....and so can alarm #2. Easy to use. Battery backup resets the time on power loss automatically....awesome. Nap function. Sleep function. This is a WINNING product.
very disappointing!.......2007-10-26
After paying 80 dollars, I would hope that the CD player would resume where it stopped after shutting it off, rather than starting at the beginning of the CD each time. Also, there is no mega-base, so the sound sucks.
wake up.......2007-09-25

Whoa!!! That's bright!!!.......2007-12-21
So I love this clock...but it's really too bright. It lights up the whole room. I bought this clock so that I could listen to relaxation CDs to fall asleep...but...when the CD player is on, the clear rounded part that holds the CD lights up like a darn Xmas tree. I have to put something over this clock to make the room dark..other than that..It's great.
fast service.......2007-12-18
i ordered this radio cd alarm clock radio havent tried it yet it is a gift for my daughter but it arrived in excellant shape and with fast delivery
Bright lights and big cities.......2007-12-13
This item is easy to set (time and both alarms) and has fairly good quality sound although the reception is poorer than my previous radio. The main complaint I have about this product is that -- having an alarm as one of the features -- it would seem to me that most people would keep this by their bedside, like me. The problem is that the light eminating from the clock is a bright blue and illuminates the bedroom. I have to physically cover the part of the radio where the light resonates from at night or face away from the radio.
Great item for the price!.......2007-12-13
Ordered ALOT of these (approx. 80) for my workplace (skilled nursing/rehab center). Half went to each of the patients rooms and the other half went to staff who really liked them (quality is good, considering such a low price that I paid for these (9.97 each). Great features and easy to us(CD/Clock and radio). Not the best radio, but hey, it was only 9.97 each!
Way, way, better than I expected!.......2007-11-26
I can't believe all the 1 star reviews. Maybe it's just because the 3 I bought all work great. I actually LOVE the bright blue light. It doubles as a perfect nightlight for my son's room. The CD and radio both work great (the tuner is merely ok, but for 9.97 people!)
Taking into consideration the price, quality, utility, style, etc it is a 5 star value!!!! I would be happy paying 19.99 for the unit (but I am glad I got them for 10 bucks each!)
I bought one for my room, my daughter's room and the baby's room! I will update this if any of the ones I bought break down, but I sure hope not!
Happy Holidays!

don't buy iy.......2007-10-17
This item stinks. It's hard to get a clear station and the CD player makes a whirring noise when playing a CD. Pay a little more and get a name brand machine.
It Is OK.......2007-09-01
Te radio does not pull in stations. The CD player is tricky to get started, Sound is Ok,
not great.......2007-07-26
Does not allow you to play the radio at night without having to reset the alarm button for it to work in the morning. Controls for settings are tiny switches in hard to get to places.
broke after 2 months.......2007-07-18
I bought this unit specifically for the wake to CD alarm and that function of the alarm clock quit working after 2 months. What can I say?
Other than the CD player, just fine.......2007-05-13
I ordered this for my daughter (6) who wanted to wake up to music on the radio. As it's hard to find a radio station locally that plays anything appropriate for a girl her age in the morning (and music), I thought this would be the way to go. Unfornately, the CD player wouldn't read CD's. These were commercial CD's, not CD-R's, but the disc would spin and the player didn't read it. In the meantime, we found something else in a brick and mortar store so decided to return instead of exchange this model. Amazon was great about the return.

Customer Reviews:
Good deal on CD/Radio/MP3 clock radio.......2007-12-04
Relying on the Sony brand from previous experience prompted me to purchase this item when my old clock radio finally died, and I wasn't disappointed. It was easy to set up the time for my area and set both alarms (one to radio and one to CD), as well as adjust the settings.
I like this clock's blue lighting vs the red light of my old digital alarm clock. It may be too bright even on the lowest setting for some people, but it doesn't bother me.
The sound is very good given what the product is, a clock radio.
It was so discounted a bit when I purchased it, but it's mainly due to my happiness with Sony products in general that persuaded me to get this one.
Great clock radio.......2007-11-25
This is an excellent clock radio. The first thing I did was test the receiver on the reception of radio station that is hard to reach where I live - I returned a different clock for that reason. The sound was crystal clear. The features of this product were well thought out. The light on it can be bright as a powerful night-light or very subdued. The cd player is great with the full sound of a device several times its size and the alarm can be set to any track on the cd. I like the battery backup also for power outages. The one thing I don't like is the black on gray digital display is more difficult to see from across the room than the standard red/black or green/black displays. Other than that, it's a great product.
Top quality bedside alarm system.......2007-10-17
This cool looking alarm does exactly what I want an alarm to do. I can go to sleep listening to a CD or radio and wake to CD, radio or alarm. I haven't tried the MP3 connection yet but that offers me another option. I live in a "fringe" FM signal area and the included wire antenna brings a reception as good as any other I've tried.
Sound quality is better then most FM/AM radio alarms I've used. I like the option of falling asleep using one sound source and waken by another source. Two different alarm settings is a very useful feature. Three levels of lighting are available, the brightest will light up a room! The back light alone is more light then I want. It would be nice if that could be lowered or turned off. After much searching, this alarm is the best I have investigated, with the most useful features.
Cool looking radio-alarm clock that works well........2007-09-28
The clock works well for what I needed, which was 1)wake me up in the morning, 2)play CDs well, and 3)tell me what time it is from across the room.
It's true that the display is rather bright, but I'm the kind that goes to sleep with the laptop glaring on the desk, so it doesn't really bother me.
CD and radio sounds are decent considering what the machine is, a radio-clock. The fact that there are two alarm times you can set is also nice. The buzzer for the alarm is a bit weak, but I wanted to wake up to my CDs, so this isn't really a problem for me.
Bottom line, it works well for my needs. You'll just have to consider what you want out of it and go from there. =)
VERY nice machine ..........2007-09-13
I have finally come full-circle: I started with a Sony DreamMachine about 10 years ago, and after going through a couple of other brands/configurations, I'm finally back to a Sony.
This is a nice unit -- decent sound, OK radio reception, good CD player, great features. Although the color is listed as "white," it's really more of a light putty color, very pale gray.
The biggest advantage of this unit over others I've tried is EASE OF USE and set-up. The "owner's manual" is small because everything is so straightforward and easy to find/operate.
Initial set-up takes less than a second: the clock arrives preset to the correct time in EST; all you do is set the time zone by hitting the button marked "time zone," and voilà -- the correct time pops in. Setting the alarm is also easy - took less than a minute to get it ready to go.
There are three light settings: really bright, reasonably bright, and backlight only, controlled via the "snooze" bar. The snooze gives you 10 minutes additional sleep time -- my last unit was 9 minutes, and I've had others with as few as 6 minutes. Ten "feels" just right to me. I can fall asleep to a CD, and wake to the "buzzer," which isn't really a buzzer at all -- more like a "chirp" that gradually gets louder, another nice feature. There's also a "nap" feature -- set it to your desired nap length, and it will wake you up without disturbing your alarm setting.
And, best of all, unlike other Sony models, this one has battery backup! If there's a power outage, you're safe. This is a big thing for me -- we have power outages 3-4 times each winter.
Very nice unit, well worth the money.

Hearty little clock-radio-CD-player.......2007-10-18
I have to say I was surprised. I'd owned Emerson video and audio products in the past -- all right, in the mid/late-1980s -- and was not too impressed either by how they sounded or how long they lasted. I really do like this product, though. In tune with lalouisianne's review, the sound isn't anything to write home about, but it isn't lousy either. I wasn't looking for anything with a great radio tuner, so the reviewer who criticised the weakness or non-functionality of this one's didn't faze me in the least. The buzzer alarm is a nice contrast to the brightness (or friendly lack of same) of the LED time screen: it's much louder than that of the GE which this Emerson unit replaced. And that in itself is saying something (so says a fellow who grew up within earshot of GE's ordnance factories in western Massachusetts). And don't be wary of buying one from an affiliate merchant, either. WarehouseDeals are very prompt and courteous folks. That's the lot.
Emerson Clock Radio.......2007-10-05
I had a previous Emerson radio and I like this one so much better. It has a nice sound easy to operate and the lighted time is great for at night. I play a lot of CD's and has a rich sound. Also the buttons are much easier to see and operate. Not sorry for my purchase
works.......2007-06-12
There is no indicator on the radio dial so you can tune. The sound itself is not bad for the money. The time is nice, large, and isn't so bright that it keeps one awake.
Avoid this product.......2007-05-17
Do not buy this product! I purchased one for my mother, and she could not turn the tuning dial. We returned it for another, and then that one broke. Since it was purchased 60 days ago, Amazon will not handle a refund or replacement, and we must go to the manufacturer. A very big disappointment all around.
2 out of 2 had to be retuned - junk.......2007-05-14
First one arrived and the cd player was locked. Thought it had been jostled in shippig so returned it while ordering a replacement. Second arrived [very quickly thanks to Amazon] and nothing worked other than the clock. Not the sound, not the tuner, not the cd player...nothing. Amazon has great customer service but this item is pure junk. Save you money and buy something else.

COBY CD-RA 195 AM/FM Alarm Clock Radio w/CD Player... .......2007-12-11
Very Good overall. The phone, however, has limited range but very nice otherwise. System is great for the price.
Don't bother.......2007-12-01
I purchased this for my daughter. The CD player is sensitive to minor bumps and the AM section of the radio tuner is horible. The FM side is only marginally better but the station had better be either close or very powerful as sensitivity is poor. The controls are overly complex and small to read and adjust. The phone is the only part that seems to work well. I had good luck with a Coby CD player a while back and then bad luck with another product. I'll be avoiding Coby all together from now on and I recommend that you do too.
Great Features, Poor Quality.......2007-11-11
This product has all the bells and whistles, except maybe digital tuning for the radio, but the quality is poor. On the first one we got we couldn't read the display on the phone no matter how we adjusted the contrast. Everything else worked fine. We exchanged it for another, and this one's phone kept losing the dial tone. Per the instructions we unplugged it and removed the battery to reset it. It would work for a while then do it again. In my experience, it worked okay if you don't need the phone.
Cordless Phone.......2007-09-17
COBY, 2.4 GHZ Cordless Phone, CD Player, AM/AM Alarm Clock, Radio
Bought for my daughter and she loves it.
GOOD LAYOUT, POOR PHONE HEARING.......2007-05-15
I ordered this phone for a Xmas Gift. I liked the uncomplicated layout of the controls and ease of operation in a reasonable space.
I like the product. The only complaint I have is that the earpeace on the phone is very low no matter what the volume setting. I don't know is this is a defect in the phone or just the way it is made. If anyone has a similar problem please let me know. I hope this review was helpful.

Squeeze in some quality music listening as you start or end your day, with Jensen's JCR-700 shower CD player. The unit sports backlit LCD and a built-in AM/FM radio with 20 station presets (10 FM, 10 AM) for 1-button tuning to your favorite morning programs. Drift-free PLL (phase-lock-loop) tuning gives you clear reception every time.. It comes with hangers to hang from the shower head or curtain rail, or it can be wall mounted with the included bracket. The unit also comes with a base stand which makes it equally at home in the kitchen, den, garage or just about anywhere you want to enjoy your favorite radio tunes.
CD listening features include 20-track programmable memory and 1/all repeat--just the thing while you're perfecting your rendition of "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" (surely one of the greatest shower songs of all time). A minijack .125-inch headphone jack lets you listen in private, but we don't recommend using headphones in the shower--bathrooms are private enough already.
The player runs on 6 C batteries (not included) or AC power using a supplied AC/DC adapter (also not for shower use). The unit is backed by a 90-day manufacturer's warranty.
What's in the Box

Customer Reviews:
Buy a Different Shower Radio.......2007-01-14
I have owned this radio for a few years, and have these complaints:
-Battery life sucks. I stopped using the CD feature because the batteries would run out so fast, but even without playing CDs the batteries last only 3 months with the radio being used for less than 15 minutes/day. It takes SIX C-batteries, so it gets expensive.
-The "light" feature is useless. There is a button to press that is supposed to illuminate the LCD display to show the time or station. It illuminates the LCD display from each side with a little light, rather than backlighting the LCD display. It does not make seeing the LCD any easier.
-Poor station memory tuning. The only way to cycle through the stored stations is to press a button which goes one way through the stations. For example, if you are listening to the station stored in slot one, then go up to the station in slot two, the only way to go back to station one is to cycle through station three, four, five, etc. until you hit ten and then one again. Annoying!
-I found the reception to be ok, but not great.
-The radio is a bit large. Granted it has a CD player, but it still seems very large for a shower.
I finally bought a new shower radio - one with no CD player since I didn't use it anyway - and am much happier and richer because I don't have to replace the batteries all the time!
Only lasted a short time.......2006-03-08
This radio only worked well for about 6 months, then it died. I replaced the batteries with brand new ones, and it still wouldn't work. It was never dropped, but stopped working. I only got some of the stations, it couldn't pick up a lot of them. It is a little big and bulky, especially for the shower area. I've had other radios (non shower type) for 15 years and never had a problem. I would never buy another one for the shower, they just don't last.
