Customer Reviews:
Just what I was hoping for.......2007-08-24
I'm impressed with this little thing. The case is well-made and has a very solid feel. The Nano fits perfectly into the skin and into the MiniBlaster. I didn't have difficulties with the fit like others mentioned. Getting the Nano out takes some pushing, but that's the way it should be. You don't want it falling out on it's own and hitting the pavement. All the Nano controls are accessible. The front, circular control (volume/scroll) works fine through a silicon skin and is very protected.
The reason we buy this thing is for sound and size. Size and weight are impressively minimal. You won't beat that anywhere. As for sound, it's not a home entertainment center or a Bose IPod system - it's a tiny little device that offers maximum portability. If you can bring your Bose system along with you, then do it. If you need something small and more portable, then read on.
The sound has a distinct clarity. Mids to highs are crisp and well separated. What you loose is bass. It's attenuated, but not dull or muddy. I wasn't expecting strong bass with a frequency response of 450Hz to 20KHz. It's not built for it and shouldn't be expected.
It's made, as others have said, for you and a couple of friends in an environment without too much ambient noise. If you are looking for a system that you can play at a beech party with a big group of friends, keep looking, because this isn't it. Too many voices chatting away will drown this little thing out.
In a reasonably quiet room or out on the trail, you get enough volume to really enjoy the music. It's loud enough to hear the detail in the sound. It even gets too loud for conversations and has to be turned down. Don't get me wrong, the neighbors won't be calling or stomping on the floor. It has what it needs to fill the niche that it's designed for.
I personally like the sound with the EQ set to "Small Speakers" - seems like a good balance for Classic Rock which I tend to listen to the most.
If you want a small, light and very portable speaker system to free you from headphones and make portable music a social experience between friends again, then you are onto something.
Enjoy!
Great for use while traveling.......2007-08-11
I wanted to be able to listen to podcasts and my own music while commuting and so first purchased (for $80) an FM converter that plugged into the lighter and my iPod and then matched an unused frequency to play what was on the iPod. The sound wasn't great and it changed depending on where I was driving. I spent a lot of time trying to find the right static frequency and match it with the device. In the short time that I tried it out I had to switch frequencies twice.
So, I looked for a speaker. I decided that it wouldn't be a disaster to buy something at this price to try even if it didn't work great. It was what I was looking for! I can use it in the car and also other places where I want to play what is on my ipod so that others can hear. It is not great sound quality, but it is much better than what I was getting with the FM converter and much easier. I can either use batteries or the AC adaptor (I already have a device that converts the cigarette lighter into AC power).
It is a great solution for what I was looking for.
Good Product.......2007-07-26
I recommend this product over similar products that are outrageously expensive. Powerful sound for it's size and easy to use. Great value.
Wow, under 15 bucks including shipping!.......2007-07-04
Don't expect too much bass out of -any- tiny speakers but as a way to turn your nano into a sort of 21st century "transistor radio" equivalent with stereo audio and a better sound quality, this little thing is superb. Talk radio podcasts are delivered very clearly and music can be enjoyed to an extent especially if you choose an appropriate EQ setting on your nano. Volume capability is decent, just don't expect to entertain an audience bigger than about two or three. Battery life is good for the 4x AAA batteries.
JLab Audio.......2007-06-08
The sound is good from the Miniblaster, but getting my Ipod in and out of it is a real chore!! It is very difficult to do. It not only is very hard to place in the miniblaster, but getting it out is even worse. I like the size of it as it doesn't take up a lot of room when I place it on the counter. Just difficult to use. It is also hard to adjust the volume with the "skin" on it.

Sharp SPC364 Atomic LCD alarm Clock .......2007-12-03
I am an atomic clock "fan" and this purchase is the latest of several atomic clock purchases. I purchased four of this particular item..two for me and two for a son in Calif. This is a compact ..easy-to-use item and becauwe of its nature, does not require re-setting when one does much traveling across the country.
Battery seems to last forever!.......2007-11-09
I bought this clock about 2 years ago and have never had to replace the battery yet! It works OK for me as an alarm..it is not very loud but that works for me. Since I have used the alarm function since I bought it not having the instructions have not been an issue but i can see how it could be difficult to learn without them. The biggest drawback is the very dim backlit but I have learned to live with it. This year it did not revert back to CST from DST. I finally pushed the reset button and it reset it self with in 2 minutes with the correct date and time. I don.t think Sharp makes this clock or any clock for that matter, because when you go the the company web site there are no clocks listed anywhere in products or support. I think they just license the name for these products and that is what makes it so hard to find manuals when they are lost. I think Amazon was very nice for scanning the manual and posting in the image section for this product.
night time clock-usable at other times.......2007-10-13
It is a bit early but the first indications are that this is just what i was looking for. The display could be a bit bigger but in the dark in the middle of the night, the curvature is manageable and the display last for just long enough.
One positive that will probably not go away was the ease of start up with this clock.
Wish I still had the receipt.......2007-09-18
I second all the negative things people have written here, with a few of my own to add. The snooze alarm, when I remember to make sure it's on (seriously -- you have to SET a snooze function???), only goes off twice, then the alarm (a very quiet one at that) is off for good. Fortunately for us, we have two very small children who wake us up before 7 each and every morning. Otherwise, my husband would be later for work than he already is. The beeping with EVERY function is so annoying, and even though we can't manage to set the stupid thing without instructions (thank you to the person who posted them -- our kids managed to hide and/or destroy them), our kids manage to screw up the clock several times a week (usually changing time zones or putting it in 24-hour mode, though this morning they somehow froze it, but changing the battery fixed that). The background lighting works but you can read the display only if you're looking down at it, and if you're lying down at night you're probably level with it or looking UP at it, so it's unreadable until you point it down (hardly intuitive when you're barely awake). What I DO like, though, is that it's small/lightweight, so when I remember, I can move it out of the kids' reach. I also like that it's attractive and accurate, but I'd like to think there are MANY other clocks out there that can say the same thing. I can't believe Sharp is still making this after at least two years of the same flaws (judging by the reviews on here). Skip this clock and buy something better. I still may take it back to Wal-Mart and see if I can exchange it for something worth my hard-earned $10...
Keeps accurate time, looks good, but very hard to adjust.......2007-03-11
I was given this clock by someone who didn't want it any more. It definitely keeps accurate time. It looks good and doesn't take up much space in my office, where I have it on my desk near my computer monitor.
I don't ever use this clock as an alarm clock, so I can't comment on that particular feature.
I'd give this clock a rating of 4 or 5 except for the one problem that several people have commented on: This clock is without a doubt very difficult to set and adjust. Don't believe me? Can't see how anyone should have trouble setting a clock? Have a look at the reviews where the authors have written how to adjust some setting. Someone else posted images here at Amazon of the instructions that come with the clock. Search the web for keywords like [spc364 sharp clock adjust] and see how many people are trying to find out how to adjust some setting on this clock.
Believe me, when you have all these people trying to find out how to adjust one setting or another on a clock, this should tell you that the user interface design for this clock is poor.
(I happen to get periodic practice adjusting my clock's settings, since every few months my granddaughter plays with the clock by pressing all the buttons on the back ;^)

Great sound quality for such a tiny package.......2007-11-05
I bought the miniblaster portable speaker in December 2006. I was amazed at the quality of the sound for such tiny speakers. Now, almost one year later, the speakers are still going strong. If you are looking for good quality pocket size speakers, these are a good choice.
A Great iPod Speaker........2007-08-08
It is tiny, compact (no wiggley parts to break off) it runs on batteries as well as AC and I am completely delighted with it.JLab Audio MBBG1 Miniblaster Portable Speaker for iPod Nano (Gen 1) - Black
STOP THINKING AND BUY IT.......2007-07-28
Best bang for the buck...i read all the reviews. just buy it. you can't beat $15 shipped. it gets the job done.
Excellent Company.......2007-06-11
My 11 year old daughter saved her $$ and did some on line research and ended up buying these. She loved them for the size which allowed her to take them into bed, on the bus etc. The audio in my opinion was "OK", but she was very happy.
We had bought them along with their noise reducing ear buds which I use while traveling in planes. I can wear them x- country very comfortably
Unfortunately we had technical problems and contacted JBL. I happened to email them on a Sunday afternoon and in about 15 minutes a real person (Josh) responded. A real person.... on a Sunday!!
He resolved the issue- which ultimately required a warranty replacement.
I cannot say enough good things about this company and Josh. I woudl buy their products again without hesitation
What a disappointment........2007-05-26
On my first foray into looking for the perfect mini speaker for my Ipod, I bought the Aiptek Mist for Nano (not realizing it only works with Gen 2 Nano)---boy, was it a cute little thing. Disappointed they don't make that product for Gen 1 Nanos, I searched Amazon for the perfect replacement mini speaker that would work with my Nano Gen 1. The JLab Miniblaster had 4 stars. Folks, speak up, because I cannot be the only one who was shocked by the low quality of this product!!
*When I first plugged it in, you couldn't hear anything because of interference from my TV remote!
*When I finally heard sound it was fuzzy at best and never got much better
*The volume level is only a smidgen better than what I can hear through my earbuds when they are out of my ears!
I read and re-read the direction and am convinced I did everything properly. I even tried it with battery power only, in the house, out of the house. No luck. This is a lousy product and I am giving it one star. This is being shipped back today.

Amazon.com Product Description
The Digiview PCR102W Atomic Projection Alarm Clock is not your standard looking bedside alarm. This clock is shaped like a sphere on a tapered, circular neck that serves as its base. The clock's overall appearance looks like a helmet from the old-time, deep-sea diving, but in place of lens on the front, the clock has a backlit time and calendar display. Digiview doesn't stop with a simple LCD display -- the PCR102W also projects the time in red on a wall or ceiling from a small bump on the top of the clock. This clock is equipped with daily crescendo alarms with five-minute snooze functions. The PCR102W is perfect for a nightstand, dresser, shelf, or any other flat surface.
The three-line backlit LCD panel shows the current time, month, date, weekday, and either the "alarm 1" or "alarm 2" time. The LCD panel backlight is equipped with an auto-off function that is easy-to-read, day or night, but it doesn't waste your battery life by staying on too long. Aside from the unique shape of the PCR102W, this clock has a clever and lighthearted color design with a translucent dark sea-blue body color and light blue trim, pushbuttons, and switches. The trim ring around the clock's base is a soft, rubber-like material that won't slide around easily and also protects furniture surfaces from scratches or dings.
The PCR102W is amazingly accurate. It calibrates itself to the world's most accurate clock every night by receiving WWVB 60kHZ radio transmissions. These transmissions contain time information from the U.S. atomic clock source operated by the U.S. Commerce Department. The time can be displayed in 12-hour format with AM and PM, the month and date are displayed digitally in that order, and the weekday is displayed as a two-letter abbreviation in English, Spanish, or French. Successful reception of the time-sychronization radio signal and signal quality are indicated by a radio tower and waves icon just above the clock's seconds display. After synchronization occurs, you can select your continental U.S. time zone, and a U.S. map icon in the upper line of the display indicates the selected time zone. This clock even automatically adjusts for Daylight Saving Time.
