OK THE FIRST LEVEL ON THE JOKERS EPISODE WAS HARD FOR ME BUT WHEN I STARTED FLIPING SWITCHES AND LOOKING UNDER BEDS AND IN CABINETS THEN I FINALLY BEAT AND I LOVE THE LEVEL WHERE I HAVE TO DRIVE THE BATMOBILE TO THE CLOCK TOWER. I HAVE BEATEN FIREFLY AND MR.FREEZE I JUST HAVE TO BEAT BANE AND THE JOKER.

I was actually quite surprised by how much fun this is to play.
You play Batman in one of 5 episodes. Each episode is a new criminal. You must unlock the first 4 episodes to play the fifth. I have unlocked it, and won't give the criminal away, but it is only 2 levels. Every other episode has 5 levels before you meet the criminal face to face.
All episodes have a lot of the same concepts and graphics. You may be running room to room solving mysteries and beating up bad guys. Other times you are in the bat boat shooting the baddies and obstacles. Sometimes you are outside fighting bad guys and trying to reach the end of the level. Once you played the first level, that is the same music you will get the rest of the game.
As repetitive as it sounds, it was actually fun to bat-a-rang and beat up the bad guys, solve mysteries to open locked doors, and other puzzles. It wasn't just mindless repetition. The grappling hook helps batman climb levels or swing to spots too high to jump. Very cool item.
The controller saves your progress after you finish each level of a mission. It does not save after a "bat" checkpoint. Checkpoints only save a spot on the game in case you get killed. This prevents you from starting the whole level over. Nor could you save at any point. The controller shape is very good so I didn't have comfort issues with it.
It does engage you quite a bit as some of the game levels are challenging, if not frustrating. It engrossed me a long while and now find myself wanting to solve the levels to play the last episode. There are objectives here and mild story lines.
In short, this has potential to be a far more robust game, but was made with that late 1980's retro look and feel. I wish TV Games would gear up for us older, and more serious gamers. They need to start using TV resolution of 480 x 720. 16 bit color and sound would help.
I only gave it 4 stars because they could have done much more with this controller and the game. The music wasn't very diverse but doesn't get on your nerves either. All things considered, a definite "must have" for your TV Games collection.
TIP: At some point will have to jump rooftops. A few of those spaces are too far apart to jump. You will need the grapnel hook. Press and hold "X", and aim on the diagonal, then release "X" to fire. Swing to safety.

Holy laptop, Batman! The Power Wing learning computer is a great way to introduce five-year-olds on up to the wonders of computer technology. The sleek black unit features expanding wings and a blue bat silhouette. But as with most things in life, it's what's inside that counts. The laptop (which does not have internet or data storage capabilities, by the way) includes 25 games and activities related to math, words, memory, logic, and music. A full computer keyboard with cursor pad allows players to enter their Batman code, play games, check their scores, check out awesome animations, and basically challenge their minds in a whole lot of fun ways! There's even a flashlight and high-contrast keyboard for those times when you just have to play in the dark. My son got this present for Christmas last year and still plays with it just as much as he did a year ago, which is a lot. He got it when he was 5 and is now 6 - the games are very appropriate for him, but also still challenging. His younger siblings want to play too and like some of the easier games.

This was bought for my 4 year old grandson who loves computers, but I was disappointed with the type of programs installed as they are more for a child in elementary school. There is only one game out of 20+ that he can actually do with minimal assistance. The other drawback is you have to know how to spell to enter the passcode to even get into the games and educational software. This is definitely for someone who is in grade school. Also, the lid to the computer opens very easy even just by bumping the computer.

Purchased the Batman Laptop Computer at Target for Christmas for my grandson who is not quite 5 years old. He was totally drawn in because it is Batman....but the games kept his interest. The entire family enjoyed trying the different games. Dad, a musician, enjoyed the music game. Graphics are super... I love the way Batman gives his approval with a thumbs up when you get the answer right....and the cool light inside that allows you to adjust from green to red. Grandma played in the dark with grandson for fun even. Worth the $38.99 I paid at Target on sale for sure.

I bought this for my 5 year old son for Christmas. Not only did he think it was great but also his 7 and 9 year old sisters. There are so many games that there was something for all of them. We took the toy with us to Grandma's and even the older cousins found it very fun and entertaining.
I really like that they can play all the games in Spanish too. Once they have got the hang of a game in English they can do it in Spanish and it helps increase their vocabulary. I was a little nervous if it would be worth the $50 because I had seen the barbie laptops and some others at radio shack. This one seemed like the best choice and was hoping this would be worth it. In my opinion it is much better than the others we tried in the store and I would definately recommend it.

Decent Starter Digital Camera.......2006-08-13
Bought this for my son and myself - considering what it is, it works great! Basic starter camera with decent quality and flash, and no film to develop. Should you need it, it includes an SD slot. My personal opinion on some of these other reviews is expectations were too high...
I remember when $50 got you a 640x480 worthless digital camera. If you can get this for under $30 you are getting a terrific deal! (I wouldn't pay the suggested retail of $50-60 myself)
Don't bother using the included software; just plug in with the included USB cable and windows XP will pop up and see the camera as removable media.
My first digital camera was a 1.3 MP Sony Cybershot that cost $400. Nowadays, $400 gets you a much better camera, but 1.3MP still gives you a decent picture. My Cell phone supposedly has 1.3MP quality, but this batman camera is better.
I use mine for my blog (works great on the go, don;t have to sweat dmaaging my $300 "good" camera, and for my son - well, my first camera as a child was a 110 camera. This is much better as 1) it has flash
2) quality is about the same and
3) no wasted film development becasue the 5-year-old took a picture of his thumb.
Face it, if you're going to blow money on a disposable camera or a first camera for a child, you cannot possibly do better than this for under $50.

I would like to start off by saying this: I have a very nice Olympus camera, 4.0 megapixel, Swivel 2.3" LCD screen--beautiful camera.... Then I thought my dreams came true when I found the Batman camera at WalMart, where my boyfriend and I were looking for a gift for his nephew. I was very much eager to purchase the item as soon as I found a register!
I wanted a "just-for-fun," cute camera that I can show off to my peers. The first thing I noticed upon opening the package was that it was less durable than I thought it would be. Long story, short...I placed a 256 SD card inside and took about 30+ pictures. When I turned it on again to take more, I pressed the shutter button and found that all my previous pictures had been erased! It was for some unknown reason! I took 30+ more pictures and came to the same conclusion! I realized that as I turned it on more frequently, the menu sometimes went straight to the "Format Memory Card" mode!! I was infuriated for quite a while...but I had already bought the camera, and it was a hit with my friends, so I'm deciding to keep it. So, unfortuantely, I'll just have to keep an eye on where the menu would just suddenly jump to. It's such an odd little camera, but you get what you pay for......even if I've had better cameras for the same price...I wish they would come out with a better Batman camera that looked just as nice.
By the way, the 1.3 megapixel is the same as my phone's camera...so maybe that should have told me something in the first place...??

I just recently bought one of these cameras (actually bought two of them), when I ran across them in the bargain bin at the local Wal-mart. Picked them up pretty cheap. Had been looking for a small cheap digital camera and these seem to fit the bill. Prior to getting this camera, I looked at another cheap one that was being sold as an impulse item next to the cash registers - a really small digital camera that was on a key ring. Anyway the price for the Batman camera was in the same range and it had a number of other features that the other camera didn't. Anyway, that's how I came to buy this thing.
Now for my thoughts on the camera itself. The packaging states that this camera is suitable for kids 5 and up. I'm not sure that is the case. The camera's outer shell is made of some pretty insubstantial plastic - what you might typically find used in the construction of most typical toy items. I don't know if the camera would hold up to the abuse that I've seen most 5 year old (and older) kids put their toys through today. My guess is the sliding cover that protects the lens would be the first to get snapped off. Also other problem I can see a child having is getting this camera wet. The case has numerous places where it would be possible for dirt & liquids can get into the insides of this case. Overall, given how I've seen the average child treat their toys (and pretty much anything else they are given) - I think the minimum age for this camera is more around 13+. Adult supervision might make for them saying the camera is suitable for a five year old.
All that said, I actually found this camera to be something that could possible work for what I need it for. I know a number of the other reviews slammed the picture quality and there is some justification for that - but I think it's more of a case of unrealistic expectations. Personally, I think that many people today (especially those under 40) have developed some unrealistic expectations - either that or they just don't think things through very well. One of the first things I noticed about this camera is it says on the front of the camera "1.3 MEGA PIXELS", about five-six years ago I bought a pretty expensive camera that also had the capability of doing 1.3 mega pixels images. But there is a huge difference between what that camera was capable of doing and what I suspected (and found) this Batman camera was able to do. One reason for that is the lenses, the expensive camera has a pretty large lens - one that I suspect is made up of high quality optic elements. The Batman camera on the other hand has a very small lens opening and I'm guessing some fairly so-so optic elements (wouldn't be surprised it was made of plastic or at least cheap glass). I noticed right away just looking at the camera in the store that the lens was pretty small. Another difference between the expensive camera and the Batman one - the Batman camera doesn't appear to have any auto-exposure capability, it seems to be set to somebody's guess at an average light level. All of this added up to my expectations that the camera wouldn't be giving me the same quality of pictures as what the other camera could. The images that the BM camera does produce are at time somewhat out of focus and somewhat over/under exposed. But given that it has a small lens and that can amplify any camera jiggle and give you blurry pictures that's to be expected. Outside during the day or inside in a well lighted area (and who wants kids to play in someplace not well lit) the camera pictures are fairly evenly exposed, the only problem is in places where the overall light isn't very even.
As I mentioned above, there are some unrealistic expectations I think. Back when I was a kid, the camera that we (kids) got to use was usually one of the cheap 126 style cameras (these were the ones that took the square pictures) and then later the 110 cameras. Most times those cheap cameras also suffered from the same problems as this BM camera - small / cheap optics and no way to manually set the exposure. To see what 'great' quality these pictures were - get some of your parents / aunts or uncles to dig out some of their photo albums from the seventies and look at how out-of-focus and grainy the pictures were.
Bottom line, you want high quality pictures - pay the money and get a really good camera - one not dressed up as a toy for a 5 year old.
the hideous beeping..........2006-03-10
i bought this because i wanted a cheap digital camera to take photos with. when i finally got the thing turned on... it beeped for about 30 seconds and then shut itself off. many many times.
i called tech support, and they said they'd exchange it because the camera was eating batteries. finally, after a half hour on the phone. all i have to say is... batman would not approve of this camera. it's loud, unrealiable, and bundled with irritating software. do not buy it.

We just bought this camera for our five year old son at Wal-Mart for $20. We have been wanting a camera for him and this sounded like a great buy. Unfortunately, when we brought it home and tried to use it, we could not get it to work at all. We tried using both an MMC and an SD but it would not work with either. After inserting the card, the camera would not do anything. It even locked up a couple of times, requiring the batteries be removed to turn the camera off. After doing this, the battery cover would not go back on and stay on.
Needless to say, Wal-Mart will be getting this back! It's too bad I can't give 0 stars on here!

He played with this toy all of 2 weeks. It still works, however, there was so much to hook up that pieces got missing and a wire got lost. He would jump, kick, spin and it would work fine. It just wore him our quickly and he eventually lost interest.

It worked for about 30 minutes and then developed a problem with wrist control. I fiddled with it for while and found a lose connection. I fixed it, but then another sensor stopped working the next day, so I returned.
Batman interactive game.......2006-01-15
This game is very fun however, there are only 4 or 5 levels so after about the first day my kids lost interest. Each level consists of solely fighting 4-5 "bad guys". There is no opportunity to go out in search of items that will help you through out the game nor does it allow you to explore the levels in search of bad guys. Played on easy the game lasts about 10 minutes. I also noticed that the game started to freeze up in the middle of battle and had to be restarted. I must say it was a bit disappointing.

this toy works. my 4 year old son got this for christmas. he has a lot of fun with it but it seems a little hard and in places, can get choppy. Eats batteries like crazy AND you'll end up losing the darn arm pieces . every part of this requires batteries! wait until it's on clearance or get an eyetoy for ps2
