my printer was out of ink and the manufactured cartridge took a long time to get to me.. I bought this as a substitute for the price, I got what I paid for.. it printed with a shadow.. not knowing if it was properly tested before sold as remanufactured.

I bought this ink cartridge online and was pleased with how rapidly it arrived and how inexpensive the shipping was. Much better deal than buying it at Office Depot/Max/Whathaveyou.
FWIW. the printer I use these cartridges with -- HP Deskjet 6980 -- is by far and away the best inkjet printer I've ever used. It's a wireless printer that I use on a mixed Linux-Windows home network. It never chokes.

If you do much printing you will find that this ink is very, very expensive. In the past I've always kept to the HP ink products. But I'll look for alternatives now that the price of this ink has gotten out of hand.
HP 96 Ink Cartridge.......2006-11-10
I like the HP 96 because it can be used in many HP printers that use the HP 98, but its a better deal than the HP 98 because it contains almost twice as much ink.
HP's ink cartridges provide excellent performance, but I think they are over priced

I previously purchased this item from office supply stores. Buying from Amazon.com saves me money and is very convenient. The items always arrives promptly and in perfect condition. I have never had a problem with this ink cartridge.

They work. They seem to last a long time under light home use. Amazon was the best place to buy them from after I did a lot of research on Google/Froogle/Pricegrabber/etc. Always have an extra Black and Color cartridge as backups... you'll thank me later.

Nice Ink at a Grossly Inflated Price.......2007-01-07
Despite being very happy with my HP Officejet 7310, the ink has turned out to be a painful expense. In the past six months, I have gone through three of these cartridges. I hate to single HP out, but the entire inkjet industry is guilty of fighting price transparency with inexpensive printers and inflated ink. This is not to mention the constant changing of ink cartridges models. Does HP really need 200 different models of ink cartridges? No. It would, in fact, be much cheaper to consolidate the cartridge offerings. However, this would lead to excessive duplication and remanufacturing by third parties.
What is particularly amusing, and perhaps offensive to some, is the enclosed "recycling" envelope that comes with new HP ink cartridges. This prepaid envelope, with the empty cartridge, goes back to HP so that it can demonstrate its environmental leadership. Of course, HP doesn't want the empty cartridges to go back into the hands of companies that refill and remanufacture them. Although I haven't done the calculations, I would assume the transportation and handling costs would actually do more harm than good to the environment. My suggestion is to fill the prepaid envelope with torn up remains of the consumer packaging that comes with the cartridges.

Yes, they're ink cartridges. They work as expected. The capacity is as on most cartridges too limited for the price paid. They could easily tripple the capacity in the space they consume but will not as they make more money sell these cartridges than selling the printers themselves.
The quality level on photo paper is very high so I'll still keep them at 4 star.
Do not buy from J&R Music and Computer World.......2006-08-06
I never got the product. There was a shipping problem that was not J&R's fault. However, J&R refused to work with me and UPS to rectify the problem. J&R's customer service failed miserably. Amazon's A-to-Z Guarantee stepped up to the plate and did a great job where J&R failed. Way to restore my faith Amazon.
