This works great! I was able to record. I put the battery in and it worked. Then, I tried to plug it in to transfer music. I go into the folder, and then I hear a squelching noise coming from the player. I open up the batter compartment for a suprise. The battery was leaking battery acid! I cleaned the compartment out, and tried again. Same thing! Then I plugged it in with no battery. No suprises! It actually worked! But then, It made me format. I liked it. I just didn't like the fact of having a pH 1 acid in my MP3 player with no warning!

This item is not bad for the price. I should have realized that mp3 players are still expensive for the technology. I wish that I would have just spent another $25.00 and recieved some thing nicer. The player is difficult to import music to and goes through batteries very quickly. I would not purchase this item again if I had it to do all over.

I was concerned over the fragility of this product....but my eight year old is able to use it,after being instructed to handle it with care...I download audiobooks for her and she loves the recording function.Thus she uses it as a diary as well.It was a little hard to figure out,but now we got it down.I-pods are much easier, but then also a much higher priced items...

So it's a little cheap feeling and the graphics are laughable, this thing packs a ton of features for such a low price. I paid like $26 when I got mine. You can't find a voice recorder or 1gig thumb drive for that low price and this thing does both!
While the poorly translated manual is hilarious "we sincerely hope that it can brings you wonderful comfort.." the thing should be a piece of cake for anyone who has ever used more than two or three gadgets in their life. Push a button here, hold a button down, rock a switch, basic navigation... The controls are certainly not streamlined or fancy, the select switch/button combo may be broke within a year, but the thing works and it only costs like $30!
Just a few more positive unmentioned features: there is a text file reader on there, a phone list (which i haven't messed with), you can control the tempo of your mp3s (sort of), it works perfectly well as a straight thumb drive (ie you can copy all kinds of data to it, not just mp3s), it can play/read from any directory structure you create on it, and this awesome little horse graphic says "bye-bye" and runs across the screen when you turn it off.
Cons: The headphones do suck (what did you expect?) The FM tuner is very temperamental, but it does work (what did you expect?) Browsing / Navigating is a little slow and clumsy (again, what did you expect?)
It's no Ipod, but this was a sweet deal for $30.

You can tell they had some considerate people putting this thing together. But you can also tell they weren't expecting to sell many of these if they didn't keep the price down by cutting some corners.
Disadvantages:
1) Constant static, esp. noticable during quiet parts and transitions between songs.
2) Feels flimsy, cheap plastics.
3) A little fatter than a common USB drive.
Advantages:
1) All functions work competently and it is highly customizable.
2) Quality is consistent, not necessarily stereo-quality sound, but sounds like radio.
3) Little things that show they cared:
Nice navigation system.
Fades out when you skip a song instead of stopping abruptly
Recording ability extended to FM radio
shut down and recording timers (if you want the player to wake you up after a few hours, or if you want it to record a certain radio talk show for a certain amount of time)

I like the model of this unit but the poor quality of it just get on my nerve! This toy just turn off by itself while playing music. Very furstrated! Amazon wouldn't replace their bad product because they said it has passed the return period (within 30 days).
good compact mp3 player.......2005-12-05
I bought this mp3 player over the summer. I use it daily at the gym and in the car. Overall I am very pleased with it. I use it with Musicmatch and it is really easy to add songs to the player. I personally like to make a playlist and play it in that order! This mp3 player supports that.
Shortly (within a week) after I bought the player the glass cover got broken. I have no idea how it happened. It was in my gym bag at the time. I called customer service and they were very very helpful. I mailed the unit back, and they gave me a new one. This was more than I expected, If only every company had customer service like that! After that I purchased a cheap $4 padded small case at target to carry it in, and I haven't had any more problems. Do be aware that the cover is glass.
The sound is good, but there are a handful of mp3 files that it will not play. I haven't bothered to figure it out yet, but I think they were ripped using VBR.

I had been looking for a replacement for my Zaurus 5500 as an mp3 player for a couple of months. The price on the swurv5 was just right, even though it comes with features i thought i'd never use. The sound quality is great, much better than the Zaurus using the same headphones. Speaking of which, the headphones that came with the swurv5 are ok quality. Not terrible, but they're a bit on the big side IMO. Battery life so far is good, i've been able to use the player for the last 3 days at work, 3-5 hours/day, on the original battery. The key to long battery life is to turn off the backlight, or leave it at its lowest setting (off after 3 secs). Indoors, the display is perfectly readable without the backlight.
I copy and paste songs to the unit as though it were a regular removable drive, which works well. No lockups, no errors, just plug it in, copy the files, and unplug it (this is on Win2k Pro).
Two minor complaints: 1) It feels a little cheap, the buttons aren't exactly precise, but they do work just fine. 2) The lanyard that it comes with is nearly impossible to attach. The hole for it is squared off and turns 90 degrees in the middle, so i can't get it to go all the way through. That's not a big deal yet, since it easily fits in my pocket. =]

I just got my iclick yesterday.The iclick's performance isn't bad. It just took me a couple of hours to figure out that i shouldn't use windows media player to sync the files. I finally figured out ON MY OWN (because the website was useless) that i should copy & paste songs into the player after connecting it to the pc.
There also seems to be a little bit of static or feedback while i'm listning to the player. It's not real bad but it's noticeable for a person who is picky about the way their music sounds. I don't know if an earphone replacement would matter.
Another thing is I thought that 1GB players held 500 songs. I was obviously wrong.
The player is good for what it cost.
Not Impressed.......2005-10-20
This unit has several nice features however I was not impressed with the battery life. I spent about 2 1/2 hours learning how to use and loading this unit. The next day after playing for 1 1/2 hours the battery was dead. The second battery lasted 3 1/2 hours. Then I tried a rechargeable which lasted 2 1/2 hours. I don't see how the manufacturer can say 12 hour battery life. Additionally, the manual was of little use.

its a pretty good mp3 player for the price. but the screen tends to go blank on me a lot. but other than that, i like it.

I purchased this 1 GB MP3 player, and received it before the deadline. The manual was written poorly, and the ear plugs were not good quality. I got more than what I actually paid for as far as the quality of the player is concerned. The player itself is very user friendly, and has fantastic sound quality when using better ear plugs. I played with it and learned how to delete the prerecorded songs that were included in the player. My player holds 264 songs currently, 252 of songs are in WMA format, and 12 are in MP3 format, with room to add a few more songs. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the player,the great service, and the price is unbeatable.

I originally had issues with dispatch of my order and had good
repore with the vendor and had a replacement sent to me which was the blue one since they were out of the silver.
the functionally of the player isnt too bad once i figured it out
with out using the manual like most would, I like the one feature that it keeps all your settings even if you replace the battery,
my other mp3 player from geeks.com which uses removable memory doesnt keep the settings.
they manuvering between the folders is tricky but read the manual
and you will do fine. it does have the ability to wipe files or the whole memory if you like, gives you a memory usage aswell, and the firmware is upgradable. for the price of a fixed memory device I am satisfied with it, could do with out the fm function
but thats fine i just dont use it but would come in handy on the bike trail if i wanted to listen to somthing else.
also can select different languages, and is read on my linux OS

Can't beat it........2007-05-12
Some people Like to spend $80 on a Ipod Shuffle. Which has no screen and you need cables and special software for. I'd rather spend under $30 and get a real MP3 player, with a built in Voice recorder & FM Radio. It has a LCD so I can pick the song I want instead of guessing. No wires need (although it comes with a USB extension if you need it). Just plug it right in and I'm set to go.
It doesn't matter what OS you use.

This MP4 player is an exceptional product that people should look at if they don't want to pay 4 times as much for a video ipod. I recieved everything I expected, the service was faster than i had anticipated, and it works great. The video and sound qualities are high, but the only problem is the hard to read manual, but if you can get past that you will most certainly not be dissappointed.
