I will make it short
THE GOOD
* The player supports GIGA MP3/WMA. it playes MP3s and WMAs burned on a dvd, so your entire library can be within your fingertips in less number of discs.
* Very Good DVD player
* great sound
THE BAD
* Pooooooorr featured MP3 player
* secondary display screen is very unclear day or night. I have to switch to the main screen to see what's going on. the brightness, contrast cannot be changed as far as I tried hard. I emailed the customer support, and it's been 2 weeks now. nothing from them.
* No Ipod control. it is just an auxiliary input. basically for any kind of audio/video output device such as playstation, mp3 players, camcorders, ...etc. nothing special for the ipod. some players out there have the ipod dial displayed on the main screen and you can control it from there, no need to take your eyes of the road.
* Does not support playlists.
* Does not support filtering/browsing by artist ot album or even genre. ALL in one big list.
* Does not View Folders in one screen to help you choose a specific folder to listen to. you have to skip pages and pages to get to what you want.
* No Visualizer. some players like clarion gives you visualization and some kind of animation while a file is played. like windows media player.
* Does not show detailed info about the song being played the way Ipod or its rivals do. the monitor sticks to the big list and in the middle bottom of the screen astist/album/year is displayed one at a time.
THE UGLY
* terrible insensitive FM tuner. it skips stations as if they are not there when a very standard FM tuner detects them.

If you want my suggestion:
instead of buying this. get yourself a decent AV player (Ipod video, creative M vision, ....) with a OSD monitor. and you will be on top of all of that. this product does not substitute for an mp3 player.

What a product. I bought it from Best Buy for only $70. It was on clearance. I know I could not get it cheaper so I bought it as soon as I saw it as they only had two units left. I got it installed next day. First of all, sound quality is great, no qualms there. It has lots of options to choose from, volume, bass, treble, speaker balance, loudness, equalizer, etc. So you can create a program according to what pleases your ears. It plays audio CDs, MP3 and WMA formats which is great. You can save 200 MP3 songs on a CD and you are ready to roll. Isn't that nice. These features are actually not the reason I bought this one as they are commonplace for any car CD system. I bought this one because of USB port and Bluetooth. You can plug in your USB drive with songs on it. That is pretty cool because it saves you the trouble of burning audio CDs or MP3 CDs. Saving songs on USB is much faster. It also has an Auxiliary slot so you can connect any MP3 player/ipod which is nice too. Now the best part...If you have a Bluetooth device (esp. phone), you can connect that to this unit (you need to buy a Bluetooth Module sold separately though) and you can take/make calls from this unit. This makes things much easier while you are driving. I would have liked if I could do it without using that Module which costs around $40. Nevertheless, its a nice feature. I AM WONDERING IF I CAN CONNECT MY PHONE BY SIMPLY USING A USB-BLUETOOTH ADAPTER. If anyone has tried this, please let me know. That may save you a few bucks as USB-Bluetooth adapters are much cheaper than the module. So overall its a nice unit with many many useful features. Boy, at $70, is that cheap :-)

I purchased this item and the Bluetooth adapter (somewhere else..). They both work very well. The bluetooth was the biggest reason I bought this and am not disappointed. It re-connects with the phone automatically. No silly headset to charge or put on. Just get in the car and it's ready to answer a call. Second reason was the USB port. I hooked up an old laptop hard drive in a $12 usb case. Works well but there are some limitations. It recognizes ID3 tags as long as you do them right but it plays them in the order they were put on the storage device. Pays no attention to file names or even .m3u playlists. Also is limited to 127 folders. You can have 48,000 files, but only 127 folders. My dream of a rolling ipod is only partially realized. I guess if you want the real thing you have to be ready to shell out for it. USB thumb drives work really well. All in all I would recommend this to someone looking for lots of options at an affordable price.

Great start to HD radio in your car.......2007-12-11
This is a great car receiver for anyone who's interested in free HD radio. It's hard to tell the difference between FM and HD radio FM, but the additional channel on each band allows the user to listen to more music. The huge improvement is listening to AM radio on HD. For Bay Area residents, listen to KNPR 1050 Sports (too bad they don't broadcast HD on its sister 680 AM band). The difference between 1050 AM and 1050 HD is truly amazing. The front AUX is a nice feature where you can plug in your iPod or MP3 player with a mini-stereo cable. When you play a MP3 CD, you can search quickly for the MP3 (by number) you want to listen to by using the volume dial (better than using the buttons).
The only problem is it takes nearly 5 seconds to synch from regular radio to HD, and it's not a very stylist front panel. But it only costs $130 or less... I got the unit installed by Best Buy so I can't tell you about any installation issues (installing my previous car receiver was a pain so I decided to pay for labor this time).
